The escalation rules should be viewed as a shell and starting point, not a rigid checklist. UA looks at the full situation, all factions involved, and all relevant factors before making a determination, including faction size, recent hires, main character status, alt characters, and whether anyone is trying to gain an unfair advantage. The purpose of a lockdown / hire block is to prevent war jumping, temporary recruiting, and alt abuse. It also makes escalation uncomfortable for everyone involved, which should push factions toward a quicker resolution instead of letting the conflict drag out. If someone was actively maining a faction but never formally set it as their main, that is ultimately on the player and their faction leadership. If they were involved enough to be impacted by the escalation, they should have seen it coming and made sure their main was properly set. Leadership also has a responsibility to warn members before things reach that point. A lock can be adjusted or removed if UA believes the specific situation calls for it, but it should not be assumed. Unless UA clearly states otherwise, factions should treat the lockdown and main character requirements as active. In your case, you were scared because you thought Popov was going to PK you, so you left the faction to do hits for Supreme in another faction. Once you realized there was no orders you left the other faction and now are stuck as a civ. watching from the outside. If you want numbers.....at the start of the escalation Supreme had 140 alts(More than any other crim. faction) to Popov 30 alts, for mains there were 25 for Supreme and 13 for Popov...... this was taken into account during the main lock decision.

If my goal was to RDM or bait someone into shooting me, I would have pulled out my gun immediately instead of following the Escalation Rules. After receiving a direct threat, I replied with "Try that shit" and attempted to throw a punch. As I started walking away, he said, "You missed, retarded." I turned back BECAUSE he INSULTED ME AGAIN. and i replied, "You don't even have the balls to fight like a real man, you fucking nerd." I would also like to mention that the player returned to the scene immediately after dying. He came back, interacted with me and locked the door back (because door was left open when he died) and break the NLR Rules. If he denies this, the logs should show that the time of his death and the time he locked the door again are very close to each other. What I do not understand is, if the other player was uncomfortable with the situation or did not want to engage in that type of roleplay, why did he insult me, threaten me, and escalate the situation further? He could have continued the escalation without immediately resorting to gunfire. When I attempted to punch him, he had the option to fight back physically instead of shooting me. If he had chosen to continue the roleplay with a fist fight, I would have accepted that outcome and moved on. Instead of choosing any of those options, he decided to resolve the situation by trying to kill me. Does defending myself and returning fire after being shot really make this RDM bait? I only reacted to the options that were presented to me in character as the roleplay developed naturally. At no point was my goal to Bait someone into shooting me or create a reason to Kill another player. To summarize, he tried to kill me and failed. I defended myself and returned fire only after being shot. Around thirty minutes later, I was banned for RDM bait. I believe I followed all Escalation and Killing Rules correctly and simply reacted to the situation as it developed through roleplay. -1 I rarely speak out this strongly against giving someone another chance, but in this case, I feel it's necessary. Attached I've sent the recent DMs he sent me during the time to which I banned him. Besides that I'd like to say this. While he wasn't the worst staff member we've had, the team is currently running smoothly without him. We shouldn't lower our standards just to add more bodies. This is the Diverge of today, not a few years ago. He was recently banned and continues to disagree with the reasoning behind it. In his forum post, he simply dismissed it as "retarded." He lashes out angrily at anyone who personally disagrees with him. This level of reactivity is unprofessional for staff. Even in his likely response to post, he's likely to push back without any apology or politeness to me whom has been nothing but professional towards him throughout his ban that I administrated in good faith. That should say enough alone. As a staff member who's been here for nearly a year, I have zero notes on my account. He has over 30! A consistent pattern of bans and notes shows a lack of accountability or issues with emotional regulation which are essential for any staff member to have and maintain during their duties.

Hi, With things like this it is often a case-by-case. With this one, it would seem fair to me to say that the TM did not necessarily invite conflict in the first place. The conflict begins with the gun pointing, which was minor, but worth bringing up in RP. He does so, and I would imagine had the other player simply walked off, the situation would have ended at that. Instead the verbal disrespect and further conflict ensues which is then followed by physical melee'ing and an eventual shootout. This is somewhat commonplace in the server. I will mention though that the repeated forcing open of the door is not really acceptable behavior here. In many cases, that could be seen as RDM baiting. With the prior context though, which makes the initial intent of the TM clear in my eyes, it's not a massive game changer. This previously mentioned rule was brought up without mentioning the final line: However if someone continues to disrespect you, you may physically intimidate or hit them. (Fists, melee weapon) As continued disrespect could realistically start a fight. The user then has free choice on how to respond/retaliate. If they choose to flee you may not kill them. There have been a few other relevant rules thrown around in the thread so far, but I would point both involved players to these rules, also: (Disclaimer: Initiating arguments just to attack someone when they return your insults or taking any comment as an insult and immediately escalating to hitting them can be considered baiting as proper escalation / the spirit of the rule is not being followed) and Generally you shouldn't invite conflict then try to hide behind the rules when you're killed. This can also be considered baiting as described under killing rule 6. Intentionally instigating someone or goad them into breaking a rule. Both players invite conflict in different ways throughout this situation though, and overall it feels fairly balanced. Could the TM have done better? Yes, but the other player could also have simply apologized for pointing his gun, or walked into his property without comment. With all of this in mind, it seems like naturally occurring player conflict and I don't believe a ban was necessary for this, thus the ban will be lifted shortly. I'd recommend everyone involved scrubs up on the killing and escalation rules anyway, for good measure.

With all due respect, this is completely wrong. As I said, I was minding my own business and walking towards Little Italy through the alleyway. The guy next to me saw me coming out of there, pulled out his weapon and aimed it at me. After that, I interacted with him and he repeatedly insulted, disrespected, and threatened me. After that situation, if I had just turned around and walked away without responding, I would have looked like a BITCH so instead I tried to escalate the situation in accordance with the rules. I threw a punch, but when the other player continued to disrespect me without giving a fuck, as someone who had already escalated, I then retaliated/responded freely based on Rule 2 of the Killing Rules, since my escalation attempt had failed. I dont understand what I was expected to do in that situation. Am I supposed to just stand there accept insults and threat??, and walk away without reacting?????? I followed the escalation properly and responded within roleplay based on what was happening at the time. I never had any intention of RDM baiting someone. I was insulted and threatened in character (IC). Also i asked you on sit which of my actions you considered RDM bait, or I requested a second staff opinion because I didn’t agree with your judgment, but in both cases I didn’t receive any response. Without giving me a chance to report that the other player didn't comply NLR rules, you simply said “if you have an appeal, go make one” and just banned me.

A 1 day ban is not the issue for me, and honestly whether it gets removed or not is not my main concern. What matters to me is that I have been playing on this server for a long time, and I do not want my record to be marked for something I believe is unfair. This is important to me because in the past my record has been a reason I could not become staff. For months I have been playing very carefully in case I might get another chance in the future, and I do not want to lose that opportunity over what I believe is a misunderstanding.

As a cop main, and someone who used to as a detective, before the uniform policy change. It was overpowered. I think the detectives should continue wearing traffic uniform. The guy who made this forum post already retired from the NYPD and lost interest. Deny this anyway. Boom roasted made the right call to restrict detectives. This is MAFIA RP, not cop rp. We are already given larger privileges. Burns and the detectives can suck up and wear their traffic uniforms. If they wanna go PC, then have an operation ready. Ok!

PD used to have more liberty, it's true, but the PD-Crim interactions in general were different. PD mains were very few back in the day, so most people playing PD understood what playing crim was like. Most didn't throw the book at everyone they ever arrested. A lot would act with what is fair rather than make arrests every time one came across their screen (a main example of this being white shirts minging and being killed after being told to leave places, although an arrestable offence, there was a time when basically no cop would arrest you for doing it). The issue I think we face now when thinking about how to balance PD is that people have stopped looking at it as a "side faction" to make sure the streets are not just pure chaos and have actual risk, and instead look at it as a side to pick, which, for balancing purposes, becomes a much more difficult thing for PD HC to do. The plain clothes detective rule isn't a "big deal" by itself, but I believe it reflects the change in mentality of many PD mains who now use PD as a tool purely to go after anyone they can and care less about the general health of the server and how they are affecting the equilibrium.

What does this suggestion add / change / etc : - Increase the amount of usable processors a single person can have at a time to 2 OR : - allow an upgrade for the processor to be purchased and modified onto a regular processor to increase the amount of product that can be processed at once (stackable up to 3 max) Specifically, going to barge and requiring to purchase the first upgrade, costing a set price, then a 2nd one which would allow for a total of 3 product to be processed at once. This brings the balance of only 1 processor is allowed at a time. AND losing it in any means would be costly. Processing 3 items at once would still take 5 minutes, but for ALL 3 instead of 5 minutes each 1. Has this been suggested before : Countless time but most recently linked below (and the same post inspiring me to create this one) What's different about this suggestion? : I felt like most likely the one mentioned above will likely be denied as it'll likely be considered "to op" allowing 5 at a time. Even with the nerfs / debufs they potentially listed. I figured this one would be much "fairer" and more likely to go somewhere. Though, still a 10/10 suggestion. What are at least 2 pros of this suggestion? : 1. I believe a large reason some people (especially people who tend to play for long times), people get burnt out as you can make a trade for dozens of bricks / barrels and each one takes 5 minutes. Resulting in HOURS of just waiting and having to monitor / be on top of the processing. I do believe the suggestion will help ease burn out, as the game becomes slightllyyyy less grindy. 2. I know this goes into the previously mentioned one but, it is a genuine quality of life update. And it benefits everyone involved. Less time spent waiting around for processing. Allows for MORE time of people roaming the streets, and engaging in meaningful RP. What are at least 2 cons of the suggestion? : 1. Dev time, naturally this goes with any major suggestion. A change like this would likely take a lot of time to properly implement. 2. It being "too op" to a degree, though below i'll counterclaim that. Why should this suggestion be accepted? : Going through the pros & cons, along with many previously suggested suggestions : In conclusion, I think a fair amount of the community dislikes the grindy part of the server, and while I understand its there to prevent people from just making a fortune overnight. I do believe my suggestion can be a "middle ground" in easing out making too much while also helping reduce the grind factor overall. The upgrades to the processor is mostly what im focused on as it'll be a better benefit then just allowing a secondary or third processor. I feel there should be a feature to be able lean out car windows and start shooting while some one drives for you or you have to stop driving and then shoot if alone i feel it would be good for some crim chars it could allow things like a drive by PK or other things for example fighting In racket wars or just wars between a faction to another. It would also save time so people don't have to get out their cars, shoot then wait for it to unlock and then wait to get in cause then by the time that happens either cops are there or you got shot

I'd like to suggest adding an Advanced Drug Processor as an upgrade to the current processor sold at the Barge. At the moment, the standard processor can only handle one brick or barrel at a time and takes around 5 minutes to complete. This means processing larger amounts becomes very repetitive, as players have to constantly reload the machine and wait through multiple cycles. My suggestion is an Advanced Drug Processor that can hold up to 5 bricks or barrels at once. To keep it balanced, it should cost significantly more than the standard processor and require Oil Barrels as fuel to operate. It could also produce a slight humming noise while running, making it easier for others to locate but also maskable via HiFi's or Cassette Players. Rather than processing 5 items in the same time as 1, a full batch could take around 20 minutes to complete. This would still save time compared to processing 5 items individually, while avoiding a massive boost to drug production. I don't see this as a profit buff as much as a quality-of-life improvement. It would reduce the repetitive nature of processing large amounts of drugs while still requiring a significant investment and ongoing fuel costs to operate. As an additional balancing measure, the processor could have durability that decreases with use. Once it reaches a certain point, players would need to maintain or repair it before continuing to use it. This would add another cost to operating the machine and help keep it balanced.

Hello, The responding staff has provided you with valid evidence that can be used in an instance such as this, joining factions are always at your own risk. If you get caught doing something such as aiding the cops with any information that you may know is probably cause for factions to give orders on your character. Please make sure you pay attention to the first prompt that appears when you first join a faction.

Hi Tommy im the one who wrote the orders as it was brought to my attention that you as a felon had been arming whiteshirts who didn't have the proper licensing. Along with being arrested in your company suit multiple times after being told not to draw attention to yourself when wearing the company suit. When you joined the faction you accepted the risk of potentially being pked for violating Faction rules. The main reason you were deemed a liability was your willingness to arm whiteshirts who had been turned away for not having a gun license. When it comes to the Factions gun racket any potential liability gets dealt with asap as its the biggest legal source of income for the faction and anyone getting caught selling our firearms illegally can put the store at risk of being fined heavily or shutdown. Hey @ayokool, I was the staff member that set you PK active. The true reason for your character's PK was that a hit was placed on you by the orders of Kosher Nostra command. The reasons behind the orders are speaking to cops and answering questions without a family lawyer present, which can leave room for suspicion of you being a snitch/informant. The second reason is calling the police on allied factions, for example, Bruno-Scarfo which can fall under breaking alliance rules or faction rules.
