The trading system on an old crime game I played on GRAAL called “Era” as a kid had a system like this. Gun bag sized window for trade- money can also be added to your side of the trade. Both users have to click accept to finalize. This could be balanced with no illegal items being allowed for trade so that police don’t miss out on investigative work. But, honestly, we could do without this system. Soft +1

My reason is beyond cringe. I’m getting toward being an old fucker- nearing middle age. Roleplaying in an era I was alive in a part of the life I’ve never experienced provides me a unique mix of typical roleplay escapism meeting a strange nostalgia for my years growing up in an Italian-American family from Newark/Camden. That world doesn’t exist anymore. So when I see groups of Europeans standing by their traditions and engaging in cultural hegemony even though they’ve assimilated best as possible into the USA streets, and I experience each season in this strange imaginary throwback world, I get an awesome sense of wonder for a life I never could live mixed with an odd nostalgia for a life I did live as a child. I just wish we had the towers. I remember seeing them in the skyline as a kid and I remember the first time I saw the skyline again without it. RPing the NYC life in Southside has been a strange ride for me. I’m sure my situation is uniquely cringe/nerdy but maybe someone else can relate even just a bit. The coziness of the winter map and Christmas time is a great example of the fuzzies that be hitting.

I have a job. I can tell you don't do anything meaningful in your day to day and your time isn't valuable enough to take anything seriously. But RP is a hobby of mine and why I chose to join a semi-serious/serious RP server. There is no OOC in the game. If there was, I would also participate in it. But when I first started and tried, it was made abundantly clear to me that the rules dictate ZERO OOC. It's baked in. We receive notes, warns, bans, etc. for that behavior. Why and how exactly are YOU so fucking cool that the rules don't apply to you, @String? Who the fuck made you Coolest Baddest Motherfucker That Rules Don't Matter For? Last I checked, you aren't a shot caller or anyone of influence in any faction and you definitely don't strike me as someone who has a serious busy life Out of City so where exactly do you get the audacity to come at me sideways? Yeah, if it's too much effort, it's not worth the squeeze- I will always understand that fundamental aspect of suggesting ideas. But if it's easy, it's something I'm surprised already doesn't exist. You need to have pager contacts, no? I am talking about conveying information to unknown people near me. Why are you being so obtuse about this?

Kind of shocked you're not for it. This frees up the text box for RP and minimizes the spam of OOC that caused the global OOC to be taken away. LOOC having a WOOC (I titled the post OOCW but WOOC makes more sense due to the formatting of LOOC) means that much OOC banter/chat is tucked away on top of protecting certain OOC information you don't want shared with everyone around you. Maybe I don't want the guy in the next room to know that I'm leaving for work but I do want the guy next to me to. I know "Pager" is a big element and tie-in to the City but I figured encouraging people to stay locked-in and not constantly DM people on Discord to convey messages out of character.

Clearly, we have a fundamental disagreement with what should and shouldn't be openly shared in the middle of Roleplay. The entire point of this suggestion is so that we are not publicly sharing Pager information. The person's personal Discord is obviously included with that. Especially since text goes through walls/floors.

P.S. I am not going to start complaining and making player reports in Discord or the Forums. Trying to do @ reports already gets me ignored and mocked for just trying to play legit. And I hate snitching. Hate gathering evidence. Hate the whole process. It's not why I'm here. My hopes are some of you will find that spark and log in for the sauce once again.
