Coming back to a weird thing is fun. 1. There is no appeal process for timeouts, timeouts cannot be appealed. 2. If you think the staff member is wrong in their ruling you can make a support ticket and discuss the outcome there as opposed to acting like a child and spamming it on discords, rallying other people to post it and spamming it ingame, etc. The rule is to listen to a staff member's instruction / ruling, if they ask you to stop doing something then you listen until it can be appealed or reviewed by other members of staff. I don't see the reason or need to spam, it just makes you look childish imo.

Re-apply with more playtime and next application try to fill out the questions better.

Music is already auto reduced through walls now per last changelog. Also a global client slider for music would also turn down your music. They'd be at the same volume.

People hate it because you can lose items and suffer character destruction. People are punished for breaking the rules around mugging (which there are many) because each mug and the context behind it is generally nuanced. Using it to target people for pks (engaging with it in bad faith) using alt characters to mug avoiding all risk, only mugging and not roleplaying as a symptom of dark rp brain. Mugging is an integral part of criminal aspects of the server and even as controversial as it is or has been it remains a part of the game, but it has recognizably flawed attributes which are mediated and covered by rules. Engage with it properly and don't be surprised if you get banned for breaking a rule. Placing a bounty and incentivising people to mug someone where the explicit goal (incentive) is to get that person pked? (Circumventing roleplay and mass target mugging them in hopes they make a mistake and get penalized) The very nature and goal being to inflict harm and ruin the other persons roleplay. People will be understandably upset if they feel they were subject to unfair, ooc motivated, non rp driven targetting

The reality of a mafia server is most people want to play as the mafia or the people trying to catch the mafia. Some people do roleplay as a civilian but it's somewhat boring and far and few between. No one wants to be on the losing end of an interaction, not many people are interested in roleplaying that and the ones that are will get tired once every single mobster in the city (read 70% of players) comes to extort them.

It's funny cause we did this some time ago and everyone bitched and moaned and complained about how when the restos arent on or open it sucks and blah blah blah

I mean the "OOC" flags and channels is just discord. Having a dedicated OOC chat ingame detracts from RP and is bum nigga shit. You can easily find a middle ground by implementing cooldowns, term blacklists and mutes. For term blacklists I haven't seen many suggestions but ideally you want to take words that are inherently OOC and block them from being used. The only suggestion i was given is to block faction names. What about a particular racial slur. Never seems to be used in an RP friendly manner. The words rape, server, lag, PK, appeal, staff. Anything else?

I think a market place detracts from spur of the moment RP deals which rumour generally facilitates quite nicely A cooldown wouldn't really reduce retarded messages by much and any significant cooldown impacts the usefulness of /rumour and what people enjoy using it for. (Yes even if that means anonymously talking shit a lot) The most likely option is just creating a staff command to restrict someone's access to /rumour, similar to a timed mute, maybe that paired with a filter to block certain OOC / Retarded terms would help. Taking suggestions on terms that show up often that shouldn't be used.

I said this on the last perma ban that got accepted.
