  1. I said your behaviour wasn't malicious, you were ignorant to the rules, and that is okay. You told me you believed there were 10 people who enjoyed the roleplay, which cancels out the people who reported it, and that they'd join you in a staff report. Feel free to open that report if you see fit, I am sorry you are unhappy with my responses
  2. Hi - As a final response: Your PTSD RP was invalid, and not a reason to begin conflict with the police - which you did by spraying bullets and hitting them numerous times. It also wouldn't have helped you IC-ly with your court case. The decision to ban you and treat this as a rule break was mine, not the players. They did not report you for RDM or Cop Baiting, but with the information provided via logs, clips and testimonies that is the outcome I deduced. I tried to have more productive communication with you, but you were more interested in telling me about how you would be making a staff report with your 10 friends if I punish you. When you are unbanned, I hope you will not insist on 'roleplaying' in the same way. Thankyou for sharing your perspective
  3. Your ban was unrelated to IC law, and was to do with your server rule breaks. I apologize for a lack of clip to show you, but your sprees are findable in logs, and your own ban dispute details quite well that you broke the rules. As specified - your PTSD roleplay is not a valid reason to engage in conflict. I don't believe you did this maliciously, and I'm sure you will hopefully have learnt from this experience, and be able to provide better, rule-aligned RP in future.
  4. Hi, I'm the staff member who handled this ban - Firstly, I'm sorry you feel your ban was unjust, and I'm hoping I can make it more clear as to why I had ruled this way. NITRP: In terms of this clause of your ban, your PTSD roleplay is something you are welcome to build into your character, in terms of casual roleplay moments such as speech, mannerisms, and talking points, I think it could provide a really interesting character for others to interact with. The reason this fell short for you, is due to 1. your lack of truly bringing that character into your interactions with others, and 2. due to it only really existing to justify your shootouts with the police. The 4 officers who I dealt with had individually reported you over a course of time for PK tickets, but due to the time these weren't able to be handled. Every time you were hospitalized (killed) you would return again and engage in the exact same behavior, but none of these other players were aware or supportive of your PTSD roleplay as a reason to be shooting them. This leads me to look at character rules 11 and 12, as well as how your gameplay is preventing these other players from achieving the RP they are looking for when they play PD. When I eventually took the ticket "I have a question for staff" (Or similar) and they explained the situation, I felt it was the correct course of action to follow up rather than let this cycle continue, and leave a sizeable group of players unable to enjoy the server. 11. You may not have a minge/non-serious character for 'messing around' 12. You may not have a character for the express purpose of mugging/raiding RDM & Cop Bait: If you were to read through the Killing Rules again (which can be found alongside plenty of other server rules on the link provided) there are a few clauses that go against your killing reason. 15. In the same vein there are still times when you can't shoot police and it would be considered RDM. You may not KOS Police for no reason. 18. Generally you shouldn't invite conflict then try to hide behind the rules when you're killed. This can also be considered baiting as described under killing rule 6. Intentionally instigating someone or goad them into breaking a rule. There are no rules or mentions in the Killing Rules that support PTSD as a reason to engage in conflict with the police, especially without any prior interaction or RP, even with your characters past in the PD whitelist. Hopefully that highlights the key reasons why I decided on your ban!
  5. -1 - I think with the prior bans and such a more detailed and well thought out app would've been necessary
  6. +1, seems well liked and experienced with moderating- wish all the text wasn't bolded though made it hard to read
  7. +1/-1 - he is very young - but has had previous experience as staff. If he wasn't removed from staff for abuse, then why not let him get back into it!

    Staff Application

-1 on behalf of the playtime, previous comments and generally lacking application - could definitely benefit from some more time and trying out anything other than PD!
  9. Hey, I am the staff who handled this ban I had decided on this due to the evidence shown in the logs that shows you raiding multiple times within too short of a time frame, as well as using a new character who has not provided any considerable roleplay, value or time to the server. I had advised you to look into the killing/mugging/raiding rules and ensure you understand them a bit better before doing so again in the future, as well as building more value to the character you are using. Otherwise, you are avoiding the risk that is integral when deciding to attempt to steal or kill another player. I had also sought advice from other staff to help with my final decision. An additional factor in your ban was your own claim that you went to raid these properties to get back at your previous faction, who you had been PK'ed on. I understand that you believe your conversation was roleplay, but when it is matched with the facts of your very recent PK, it paints a picture that your decision to raid was based on a desire for revenge. - I am unable to attach a clip for this, unfortunately, due to the ESP information within it.
  10. In-Game Name(s): Enzo Morello, Hunter Miller, Leone Fiorentino, Felix Riggs, Milk Miruku Steam Name: calink Steam Profile Link: https://steamcommunity.com/id/calink/ Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:58836620 Discord Username: cal.ink Age: 24 When did you first join the server: February 5th Total playtime on our Servers (Do !time in-game): 3w 1d 4h 8m Time Zone: GMT (BST currently) How much time can you realistically dedicate to moderating?: Anywhere between 2 and 6 hours a day, depending on the week. Have you read the rules?: Yes Do you have a working microphone?: Yes Do you acknowledge that you must meet the weekly minimum ticket quota of 20 tickets? (Unless you have posted a valid LOA): Yes Are you familiarized with SAM and/or Nutscript commands?: No Do you acknowledge that lying on this application will result in immediate denial and blacklisting from staff?: Yes ------------------------------------------------- Long Answer Questions proceeded with an asterix require a response of 3 Sentences Minimum. What is your motivation/reason for applying?: I have been enjoying the server for over 6 months now, and have gained a lot more free time recently. I thought it would be valuable to me and the community to start helping out with the moderation efforts and ensuring an enjoyable time for everyone who passes through the city, so that hopefully more people will stick around and have the positive experience I have had so far! If something's good, it's worth maintaining. I also think being a staff member would help inform my future RP and gameplay, and deliver a better experience for me and the people I interact with as a result. Why should you be considered over other candidates?: I am an adult and I have worked in management within the hospitality industry for nearly 4 years and am very experienced in being a mediator of conflicts and issues. I am capable and willing to ensure everyone walks away from a dispute without feeling like they've been treated with bias, or that an outcome was unfair. I spend enough time on the server to want to assist in its moderation, but not so much as to be deep in the Diverge drama mines. I will hear out what people have to say, without becoming personally offended should they be upset due to the nature of their ongoing issue. Do you have any previous staffing experience? (Please list where, what position and how long): No, but I am sure to pick everything up quickly Have you been banned before on any of our servers? If so, why?: No Would you say that you are well known in our community, what's your reputation, what do other members think of you?: I am definitely not unknown, but not super well known, especially in terms of the OOC community, I believe I bring a good amount of roleplay and I am always being agreeable, approachable and fun to interact with. I'm sure there will be some people who can attest to my reputation better than I can myself, haha - I'm definitely trying to interact with more people in the city, from all the businesses and beyond, particularly through getting into legal RP. I am confident my reputation is good overall What is your favourite moment on Diverge so far?: There is a huge amount of things I could pull from, obviously conflict can be fun, but I have always enjoyed the dinners, meetings and community events the most! I like taking my friends and family to a new restaurant to RP, try some new food and say Marone like 20,000 times. I think the best moments are always found within small interactions between you, and some Unknown guy on the street, where you just remember for a second that everyone around you is an actual person. Those 60 second talks-in-passing can genuinely be just some of the funniest or most human moments you can get from gaming. Have any staff members recommended you? If so, list their names: SexaphoneGod, Yumeko, Mmmm_cookies, Jennay, Boosted, Toasty, Falcon ------------------------------------------------- Problem Solving Detail step by step exactly the actions you would take. Someone RDMs and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this?: If I was off-duty, I would be happy to make a staff ticket myself, or encourage the involved parties to do so. This would then ideally lead to an active staff member handling the ticket, and I would be available to provide a clip or support if necessary. If there were no other staff active, or it was a particularly busy time, I would encourage the involved parties to make a ticket and then claim it in an official capacity, rather than skipping over that initial step. If there is a preferred protocol for this, I would be happy to learn it, too You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: I would communicate to the staff member that the abuse is becoming frequent and that despite it being somewhat "lowkey" it is likely to cause them or me an issue in the future, and may be effecting the wellbeing of players or other staff, and so they need to fix up their behaviour. If they showed no ability to express remorse or understanding of what they were doing wrong, and made no promise to stop doing these minor infractions, then I would speak with a separate higher ranked staff member to inform them of the ongoing problems, and leave it in their hands. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: I would say this constitutes a possible bias, as one might feel like they can let their friend off easy, due to their anecdotal past experiences with them. In this circumstance, I would not be involving myself with the ticket, unless necessary. The ticket needs to run its course through the proper due process, without the personal opinion of a staff member. If there is proof of the RDM and/or minging, the correct punishments or warnings need to be issued. Whilst I know I would have no gripe with issuing proper consequences to members of my faction(s) it is also preferable for the sake of preventing bias accusations, that someone else handles the ticket. If there is no other option, or I am required to take the ticket I would do my most to ensure 1. a fair and due process and 2. the parties involved leave free from concerns of bias. To conclude: I have been massively engaged in Diverge for a good while, and enjoying it so much, I think I am a good fit to assist in the moderation of the server, and that both fellow staff and the community/playerbase would get along well with me, and I can devote enough time to make the required weekly quota (and then some) Thanks for your consideration! ---------------------------------------------------------
