I wasn’t going commenting on this however, I feel it’s important to talk about some of your claims that you made. #1 You have not been around my faction to fully know the ins and outs of it, So for you to say you feared for your life is a really interesting claim. Also, cannons PK was completely in the guidelines of the rules, and if he didn’t think so he should have appealed it then so bringing it up now means nothing and does not help your case whatsoever. You said you planned to stay in both and it was mentioned to me that you would which is why I didn’t kill you or anyone else. You claim that you did a lot of this stuff because of cannon and his PK. This does not give you the excuse to break rules and help others break rules just to benefit you and your friends in creating a faction. I have said this on cannon’s appeal as well there are a plenty of better ways to handle the situation and you guys did the complete opposite of that. It’s very sad that it’s excuse this and excuse that instead of an apology. It just shows that there is no accountability in this group and it shows that you all had every intention of doing what you did. I’m glad cannon has apologized so for you to sit here and try and make my faction out to be the bad guy is baffling. I will say you did not do as much as some other, but you still participated heavily with as much motivation as them. It’s also not a secret that you used your position in “mccarthy” putting that in quotes because it’s not a real faction to metagame and try to gather information on the Callaghan’s. So, I end this off with the same way I ended cannon’s. You knew what you were doing even admitted it and you are upset you get caught doing it. I think the time needed to reflect on your mistakes is the perfect amount of time listed on your ban seeing as you were fairly malicious in your actions.

There were a lot of ways you could have handled this situation; in my eyes, you handled it in the worst way possible. Time after time, you made bad decisions after bad decisions with the complete knowledge of what you were doing. I dont know why you are using the excuse of lost items between multiple characters, even in your apology, you are lying. There are countless examples of people who created factions without #1 leaching off a current faction and #2 breaking half the rule book to accomplish it. At the end of the day, this is a game, and I have nothing against you, but if you played by the rules like everyone else, you would be able to create a faction and you wouldn't be banned right now. There is not a single doubt in my mind that you regret what you did, just the fact that you got caught. Staff have everything they needed to make the decision, and I think 4lights did a perfect job on all accounts. It was clear from day 1 that you intended to circumvent the rules and the RP surrounding my faction to make yourself and your faction have an upper hand. Unfortunately, everyone you convinced to go with you has been PKed and banned because of what YOU wanted. I offered advice and guidance, and instead, you tried to maliciously hurt my faction. Again, I say you could have handled this situation a lot better; instead, you did the opposite and did what caused you to be banned and PKed. I don't think you should have a reduction of a ban, nor should any of your characters that are involved be unPKed. You need to learn true leadership and how to follow rules, not try and cheat the system so it benefits you. I hope you learned from this situation and maybe when you come back, you will use this as a learning experience.

This not only gives extra inventory space, but also offers roleplay opportunities and unique player interactions (Briefcase filled with money, guns, drugs, contracts, documents, limbs, etc). What server rule or PK rule was violated?: I should be unpked due to how I conducted my self with leaving the faction. I changed my name which I know is IC info in the government pager, however a name change isn't a good enough reason to pk someone even with a warning behind it. People can change their name inside of a faction already. I didn't snitch at any point about the faction or any information of the faction. I didn't become a CI or join with the police after leaving. I changed my face and name after I left faction when I knew they wouldn't be any members on in city to witness me transitioning to the New York civilian faction. I didn't play or hop on the character for at least a good 3 weeks to a month, except when I changed my face and name when no member was on; just so I could fly under their radar to leave the faction quietly and peacefully. The way I died suggests some level of metagaming could be involved in my pk. They basically rushed me with their car and class 3 weaponry while I was buying oil from someone. Before that, I decided to join an oil faction once a good amount of time passed felt. This basically suggests and makes me think they didn't have any worthy IC info of me leaving the faction to set me active for those 3 weeks. I did have an ooc conversation questioning about leaving but that was way before I made any attempt to leave on my own means. I'm aware people had my name before I changed it and that could be the trail that lead them to figuring out who I was. Though on the other hand, I left the faction when they where not in city to witness me transitioning out of it. I basically have the character go ghost mode and didn't fly him in, so they couldn't get a lead to confirm it was me when I did leave the faction. It leaves me wonder how they found out, they basically where offline in city whenever I did something with the character. I also checked the rules of PK Guidelines and under the Family Member Kills at the very bottom of the section it states, "This 'left faction' reason is valid for 2 weeks after the individual leaves your organization. If you failed to notice or care before those two weeks expired then clearly this person was not important enough to warrant going after. (Exceptions made if they snitch, falls under a different pk reason) However note that the target not logging on does not affect your ability to place the hit in-game. So give the in-game order before the 2 week expiration, regardless if they log in or not and you will still be permitted to carry out the hit later down the line." In this paragraph, it clearly defines the rules about how pk validations work under 'left faction' reasons. "This 'left faction' reason is valid for 2 weeks after the individual leaves your organization." This line states that I have a two week pk validation on my head when I specifically leave the faction. I have left the faction over that time period. "(Exceptions made if they snitch, falls under a different pk reason)," I did not snitch or have any evidence of snitching with my character so this does not apply to me. "However note that the target not logging on does not affect your ability to place the hit in-game. So give the in-game order before the 2 week expiration," This clearly says that me logging in or not on the character does not affect the time limit of the hit acceptance, that two week validation is still ticking down. If possible please provide video evidence or photo evidence if PK does not follow the guidelines: My Medal wasn't working at the time of the pk.

Hello, you were PKd due to leaving the kirov bratva's whitelist which is ground for a PK. The two week rule you are quoting is in regards to the time limit the faction has to wrote orders on you. If they write orders within two weeks of you leaving they may kill you past two weeks of you leaving. Which is what had occurred in this scenario.

My main character wasnt detained for this, and I had no interactions with the police 2) then I went on my alt character to punch the cop that was arresting him. the rules say- In the same vein there are still times when you can't shoot police and it would be considered RDM. You may not KOS Police for no reason. They must be specifically targeting you or a faction member for arrest/takedown. You may not kill Officers for simply pulling you over or writing you a traffic citation. You may not kill Officers for giving you a lawful order. (Leave the area, put that away, Identify yourself, etc) You may attack Officers if they attempt to Arrest/Detain you or a member of your group, knowing that an arrest or detainment would lead to a FELONY charge (Having illegal guns/drugs/etc.) You are PK active after shooting/killing an officer. -What is considered an attempt to arrest / detain you: Attempting to handcuff you Verbally telling you, you are being detained / arrested ("You are being detained", "You are under arrest") Firing their tazer at you Pointing their gun at you and ordering you to surrender/stop moving/get down/turn around. Given there was a crowd around the cop of employees, and my character is a "hired gun/security" I felt it was justified. 3) I went on my cop character afterwards and stood outside the cell while he was inside the cell. I didnt enter the cell, and when two detectives took over the case from the arresting officer, I asked why they took over the investigation for them. Then asked the original arresting officer why they were outside the cell. I never entered the cell and since the cells are deafened on the inside I heard nothing. The arresting cop didnt like this and decided to report me and asked me why I was hanging arround. the rules here on Metagame-- Do not speak of in game matters in OOC Do not use OOC terms in IC Discord is generally considered OOC unless it is owned by Diverge Networks, and has the channel clearly stated as IC. I.E: [IC], [In Character] All Discord Voice Channels are considered OOC. Any 3rd party Voice / VOIP program is considered OOC while in the server. In order for you to communicate with other players you must use in game chat or voice functions, we added radios for this exact reason. Coordinating anything IC in a third party voice program is metagaming and will lead to a ban and/or a void of an RP situation. You may use Discord to request a lawyer or use discord to organize meetings or flag ups by naming a date, time and location. Attempting to use OOC chats to communicate things which should be clearly labeled IC is not permitted, you can receive a punishment for this OR the OOC communication can be considered IC by upper staff and is therefore admissible to continue an existing roleplay situation. Criminal factions are known about and often high ranking members of these organizations are very recognizable, the name and structure of these organizations is often known about through local rumours and news reports. They are an open secret and knowing the name of a faction or who the leader is is not necessarily metagame. Admin sits are not considered IC and any information obtained and used in RP can be considered META. It is considered Meta for Police to attempt to arrest people for talking to blackmarket/illegal NPCs. Police do not "have knowledge" the NPC buys drugs and it's not a reason to detain or arrest users approaching it. (Camping the NPC). Ways to Identify someone IC'ly: -You have their F3 -They Identify themselves to you, verbally giving you their full name / unique nickname -Someone who has their F3 Identifies them to you -You have viewed their ID card or searched their person (See Police rules section) -If someone has committed an offense against you (Act of violence, mugging, etc) you may recognize them based on their voice, character descriptions and clothing for up to 30 minutes afterwards (Without having their F3). Players may change clothes or lay low during this time to avoid recognition. Looking over the rules of Metagame, there is nothing in here that says I cant switch characters. Especially since my cop never interfered or baited anyone or attempted to let the guy out of the cell. Rule 11 states I am not allowed to pass or use information of one character with another one of my characters and that is meta. But My alternate being security, that was directly outside the front entrance of the restaurant I work for, arresting someone who I have their f3, and the arrest is STILL HAPPENING and there is a crowd in front of the arresting officer, does not have me use alternate character information for the arrest. It was still an event in progress. As for my cop character, I never got involved and merely stood outside the cell. I asked the arresting officers why other officers took over. I never accused them of anything or accused them of anything since my cop character was not present. Why should you be unbanned? - I realize its only three days, and its not a huge deal.. But the rules are a tad grey on Rule 11 and my situation. At the very least I feel it could be elaborated on or given more clear definitions on what is not allowed. I don't cause issues or minge or rdm or anything. And at the end of the day, a cop got punched and I stood by a cell on my cop character, but didnt get involved since I never even heard what was being said inside the cell. At the very least, I would like to request a warning and to just move on. If not, Well its only three days so no sweat off my back. Additional Information (images, videos, etc):

Note: It has already has been stated that an off duty function is added to the to do list, just wanted to add my two cents on a way to implement it that could be nice (might already be what was in mind). I really like the updates that have been done with the Police Computer and would like to have more options to remove some of the need of Discord, specifically with removing/replacing #clock-in-out. In the concepts attached, I have included: 1. An option to clock in and clock out from the police computer. 2. An option to display the recent history of clock in and clock outs (Date and time of each clock in and clock out, similar to the ATMs). The history tab can serve a purpose in proving activity to the Bureau of Internal Affairs if they suspect activity related infractions. In addition to "Clock Out" disabling the pay for officers, there could be another feature implemented that removes the "Cop Badge" as a wearable item from the Evidence NPC and instead when someone in PD clocks in through the computer, the Cop Badge will automatically be attached to their character - This way if someone has clocked in and is wearing plain clothes, it will be easier for staff to be made aware of people abusing the pay system, and for officers that want to spend time off duty there won't be any suspicion of them attempting to farm pay. Another benefit to this change with the Cop Badge would be the removal of needing "Off Duty" or "On Duty" in the description of officers, as the badge will indicate that instead. Edit: In regards to Supervisors and IA - There could also be an additional tab created for them to be able to check the clock in and clock out history of other officers in some sort of 'Employee Search'. Or alternatively, a new tab that is created that automatically displays all officers and how many days they haven't been clocked in for - with the least active people being at the top of the list, making it easier for Supervisors and IA to spot B-4 and A-2 Infractions.

this would be super useful to have instead of a discord channel I'm not high ranking whatsoever but I do forget to clock in for the first 20 min I'm on my cop char relatively often and now with this being where we get to check our payment it would be virtually impossible to forget to clock in anymore

The officer must make a reasonable attempt to arrest you. In the context of watching the brown car, I think it's more than possible to miss the officer. Further, you were at a pitted position at the time of the officer shooting. Without any other instructions given, this PK lacks the officers POV and may lack crucial context. With the officer also stating he just shot, because of minge behavior from a third party. I find a reasonable attempt at arrest was not made in this case. Also, I know you touched on this. But give Adam a break, he's doing his best so that we all can have a solid platform to play on, there's no bias here and he doesn't deserve any grief over this or for you to paint him in a negative light. Your appeal has been reviewed and accepted. Your character has been reinstated and can be used again.

After talking to a lot of people about this situation, I've realized that I was being pretty reckless during that night in the city. I came back to the server a few days ago after a 3 year break, and a lot has changed. I've been really enjoying my time on Diverge so far and this is the only bad experience I have been in since I returned. I don't want to lose my original Character, it's been a long time coming just to go out in such an unrealistic way. I'd also like to apologize to @adam, I portrayed you as a bad person throughout my appeal, and that wasn't okay. I won't ignore the way you handled the situation, but I should have been the bigger man and kept my opinion of you and the opinion others have about you, out of things. I really hope Donato gets a second chance, and I hope you guys can understand how it feels being in this dilemma.

Your ban appeal has been reviewed and accepted. Cannon admitted to some wrong doing in his appeal, and I do agree that this was a systematical way of moving all of your stuff to new chars to benefit the new faction you were going to try to make. In order to ensure none of those items are transferred or used, your chars that were used will stay pk'd. This is your first offense of this type, and it seems to be rather large, please read the rules and abide by them. The ban will be reduced to 3 days.

What do you do though? Like what roleplay is there? You say you want to be friendly to the casual player yet I don't think the casual player wants to sit at Hangaround for 3 weeks.

Unsure. -1 until you display in your application actual unique roleplay that won't be just like the 8 other factions that are basically the same factions with different leadership. Seriously asking you to flesh out your application not respond to me. I don't know who the Davis boys are.

+/- Davis Boys was good, I enjoyed our RP a few years ago but the faction kind of fell off. This application is very lackluster and you rely way too much on past RP (don't get me wrong, I see how it's relevant) but you offer almost zero information on the faction, past and present and it seems very lazy. PRO + Good RPer and has experience in a faction leader position. + Great play time, understands the rules of the server. CON - Backstory is incredibly lacking, applicants spend hours on their applications, yours is just barely over the wordcount. In the small write up you did provide, it reads really well, but there isn't enough. You have the opportunity to write out the entire Davis Boys storyline and how it ended, and how it's beginning again as the Harrison Family... but you didn't do that? - No information on unique roleplay. "Private things like meetings, the hiring process" how is this any different from any other faction. Every faction has a hiring process and has meetings... how is your hiring process / meetings any different from the others? You mention it's 'Fun for those coming in'... how?

In my opinion in my religion my prophet forgave the bad people, why don’t you forgive this guy, atleast get him back but not as a staff member see his action and in my opinion let him apply for staff in a year or so to see his action. But +1.

Hang-arounds will be doing things that what most of the current accepted factions' associates probably do, but actually gaining the whitelist and the RP associated is planned to come later. I don't want to whitelist someone and push them to move bricks to get money instantly. It can be interesting and engaging without a whitelist within the first week. I want quality players in my faction. -Giving them a few baggies and telling them to move them (They learn to navigate the map and learn where NPCs are) -Giving them a brick and teaching them how to break it down -Paying them for info on other groups (Incentivizes them to go RP with other groups and talk to people) -Paying them to do a grocery run -Paying them to restock lockers with meds and ammo -Showing them the ropes of weed production -Bringing them along to meetings with other factions and actually involving them (Not just standing outside and waiting) (This is just off the top of my head) By the time they finally become an associate and get a whitelist they should be able to run small drug ops, employ other hang-arounds to work with them and would pass on the info. After building up a small group around them/bringing others to the faction, the associate is noticed and then they may become made man material. I don't know why I need to post every aspect of my faction's interworking on here. I'd like some things to be kept unknown so its a surprise for those who might join. I'm not tryna pull a "trust me bro", but I'd like some things to be found out when people join.
