A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. A lot of people have told me to apply, and many people have even just assumed that I'm a member of staff. Everyone has heard the classic line a million times that they've been around at times where there are 0 staff online, causing incidents to go unchecked if victims don't take the time to go to the forums. I'm fortunate enough for this to not have been a huge issue for me in the past, but I have heard the complaint a million times, and would love to be able to do my part and help out when it's needed. Throughout my time playing GMod (9,614 hours in 18 years), I have always enjoyed staff work as it always makes whatever server I do it on feel like a better place. What is your favourite moment on Diverge so far?: Very recently I trained for days for a fight against Detective Mickey Wickers on my main character Luigi Medici. This fight meant a lot to me and I knew the entire (.//criminal side of the) city was counting on me to show up for them. The event itself was very well put together, and the environment when I came out to fight was more electric than anything I've experienced in the city. What do you do?: I would gather evidence as I see the abuse occur, recordings, screenshots, etc. After this I would hand off the evidence to a member of staff of higher rank and that has no RP affiliations with the offender (if possible), so they can handle the situation without bias. I gave him multiple lawful orders to stop but he continued so I arrested him for Obstruction of Justice, after he spoke in the cells i realized he was Redeemer (someone ive recently had OOC issues with) His first response was "I need a supervisor" Luckily Big Boss Jamal Lee was online so i called him through RPD and he came to the cells, he first asked me "What the charge was and how the situation happened" After i explained everything he said "Yes, what he did is Obstruction of Justice. Let me speak to him, give me a moment" He then spoke to Redeemer privately for around 10 minutes, came back out, confirmed there was no issue with the charges and told me i could continue the arrest. I went back inside and asked "Do you want a plea deal or do you want to go to court?" He said he wanted to go to court, so i left the cell. As I was closing the door, he said "wait" so i opened the door again. He asked to see the plea deal again, so I offered him the same deal "Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Arrest - 10 years" He told me he changed his mind and said he wanted to sign a PLEA Deal instead of going to court. If not I would take the case and issue out the appropriate punishment. aight i have a very valid question that im genuinely curious about, as far as im aware ERP isn’t allowed on Diverge and is one of the most heavily disliked forms of RP However there is a Rape charge listed in the Penal Codes, how does that work exactly? It's optional, a staff member is a volunteer who is trying to help process the day to day. Mandating it is silly, if they want to do it, they may, but I'm not going to force them to have to confront and be verbally abused by an irate player who is angry they are losing a character. It's what the appeals are for in the end.

Scenarios such as Muggings, VCWP, and one off PK situations like that have popped up quite a bit recently where if the staff member would have just pulled the individual being PKed the PK likely would have been denied in the first place when providing evidence. Great example and there are plenty of others in the recent months where both sides of the evidence shown that the person who was pked should have never been pked. Just look through accepted char appeals. (thank god the individual linked above clipped this moment, some of us wouldve just kept going after being killed, and if you ask me you can see a dead body in the cops clip and the dude running away, it was obvious crossfire from that perspective too????)) Why make a person stress for days wondering if their pk appeal will be accepted when it can be decided in that moment with all sides of the evidence? Staff should pull the individual they are pking and determine if they have any evidence for themselves. The answer should not be "make a pk appeal" this resticts access to their character and in some cases breaks RP for them if they have a planned event or something of the sort.

We all know there's a cart guy near PD which is cool and all but I think it would be better if yall move him to another location which is luxury clothing store cause the foot traffic there is increasingly more larger and it helps out bns or jlt workers to get food while working so they dont have to run all the way to another place to get something to eat. Like the cart is already there its just missing a npc. As well as there is already one in city hall and they are too close to each other for them to be there. Move one of them in my opinion to another location so people can always get food and it would be utilized way more. As well as add one to the casino, there is so many people that usually are near casino and always are afk there or gambling or just hanging out, just put a cart guy doesn't matter what the price is and have people buy stuff from there so they can get food. They can be gambling and after some time they will get hungry so they will have to go run all the way to park get food and then run back or lets say they were afk they comeback and they were completely hungry they have to deal damage and slowly walk to park to get food. If it keeps happening and I have enough evidence to show there’s actually something going on, I’d bring it to whoever is above them or staff management and let them deal with it. I also wouldn’t confront them in front of players or start talking about it with everyone else because that’s just going to create unnecessary drama. Their rank wouldn’t really change anything for me. If they’re abusing their position then management should know about it. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: Yeah, there’s definitely a possibility of bias there. Even if I don’t mean to be biased, knowing the person and already thinking “he normally doesn’t do this” could affect how I look at the situation. If another staff member is available I’d probably just have them take the ticket. That removes the problem completely If nobody else can take it and I have to handle it, then I’d handle it like any other sit. Listen to both people, check logs/clips and make the decision based on what actually happened. If my friend broke the rules, then they’re getting the same punishment somebody I don’t know would get. Being my friend or being in my faction shouldn’t get them out of a punishment.
