He said to grab all the Japenese items that they might have and to return them to him. Upon identifying the female and initiating the mug, I noticed that they would not put their hands up. Given the knowledge that they were in Takahashi and I had recently worked at Takahashi, I knew that this individual may be in possession of a firearm. With this in mind, I did not want to restrain the individual without them putting their hands in the air first as a safety precaution. After many warnings for this person to put their hands up had passed, I decided to just end up shooting them because they were not complying with my demands. I don't see how this is pk hunting, given the contract and it's details. I would understand how this looks like pk hunting if there was no reason behind the mugging. Perma killed body's instead of being the normal half life 2 which i believe is boring and kind of repetitive, should be swapped for the corpse of the actual player i have seen this done before and it would be cooler for any detective RP to actually have a dead body Infront of him instead of the same corpse over and over. This makes a more immersive kill too, to see the recipient of the PK's actual corpse makes him more identifiable via witnesses too. Doing a whack in a public place carry's the risk of witnesses snitches etc, to have someone be able to point you out "hey that guy was walking with him when he got murdered" makes the hit way more risky anyway it also adds more investigation then just clicking the "E" key and seeing the name of the person of course that will still be the mechanic but it adds a bit more if the cop has IC knowledge of this person has seen them before or was aware of their whereabouts previous to their demise. That's the pro for the detective RP but there is a few cons to criminal roleplay which a lot of people would dislike but i think its more immersive as mafia roleplay has advanced you see a lot more stuff come around and the game get more immersive to the point you cant tell your playing a half life 2 source engine and it feels like you are playing a separate game i think this breaks away from the Garry's mod part of the game and makes it its special game mode i only see benefits to the experience. It would be a cool feature to have a actual "illegal" gambling racket yes you have blackjack in the casinos but in the sopranos and other mob media such as "gotti" or "goodfellas" you see backroom cardgames where they are actually playing cards. To have a actual table where you can actually play cards instead of just hitting 2 buttons, think of red dead 1's mechanics with poker. would make illegal gambling operations an actual problem for cops to deal with and it would be cool to have backroom games where players can actually participate in the card game instead of using a URL to simulate the experience. We all know there's a cart guy near PD which is cool and all but I think it would be better if yall move him to another location which is luxury clothing store cause the foot traffic there is increasingly more larger and it helps out bns or jlt workers to get food while working so they dont have to run all the way to another place to get something to eat. Like the cart is already there its just missing a npc. As well as there is already one in city hall and they are too close to each other for them to be there. Move one of them in my opinion to another location so people can always get food and it would be utilized way more. As well as add one to the casino, there is so many people that usually are near casino and always are afk there or gambling or just hanging out, just put a cart guy doesn't matter what the price is and have people buy stuff from there so they can get food. They can be gambling and after some time they will get hungry so they will have to go run all the way to park get food and then run back or lets say they were afk they comeback and they were completely hungry they have to deal damage and slowly walk to park to get food. I think even those these are minor additions that can have more impact than people think.

Hello. I Was involved in deciding whether this was a PK or NOT as i was also an Admin online at the time. The rule you are referencing means they cannot KILL You for failing to comply with their instructions in this situation. However you pulled out a gun leading to your death. you were killed because of the fact that you pulled out a gun therefore breaking Fear RP whilst off duty and dying because of it. If they'd killed you for NOT Putting your hands up then this would've been Invalid but that simply Was NOT the case.

I'm trying to figure out how and why this is against the rules. The person was noncompliant. Being non compliant during a mugging gets you killed. If you think for any second that a nga from my whitelist isn't strapped with a pm9, THEY are either retarded or your dead wrong - because everyone has a gun. They should not of kept moving on and off and simply just complied with the mugging and it would've never turned to a pk. I understand why "PK hunting" is being brought up due to the lack of restraints being used, but me personally? I'm not getting pked because some retard cant stand still. Hi, so to elaborate more on both the map and the mugging scenario you're referring too: Yes, the bush there is intended as a red zone. It is a high-risk mugging spot. The issues with the mug in question lies more in the seclusion of the mug. As DutchCat had stated, the mugging was not secluded. Initiating in a yellow zone is within the rules, but not with witnesses present. The mug was initiated with 2 bystanders in Line of Sight (LOS) and assumedly both La Trattoria and La Volpe open and operating as businesses. Before tying is even completed, there are now 2 more bystanders - in this instance 2 police officers. Upon completing the tie, there is now an additional bystander. Overall there are 5 witnesses in clear LOS at the bare minimum. To pull some rules for you - 2. You may not mug in a public place, you can, however, pull a weapon on them and bring them to a secluded area to rob them (This can only be done when there is no one else around. 6. The goal of this image is to help reduce fail mugs. It is a good guideline to follow, all rules listed in this section will supersede the map and staff have the final say regarding what is or isn't fail mug in a sit. That is to say that the seclusion rule (2.) supersedes the map's designation of the bush as a redzone, in this case. And from the map itself - Hopefully this works to clear up any confusion around both the outcome of the appeal, and the designation of the location as a redzone. There is a longer history on Diverge of ragtag groups of muggers, little gangs, and people trying to start factions who struggle to get a leg up when it comes to starting one. That is why I am recommending a new whitelist - similar to Civilians but it grants people a way to become criminals without joining a faction straight out. They'd get access to rumour, but would not gain access to any rackets or anything of the sort. How would you join? It would be similar to the old system of getting whitelisted to a faction most likely - you ask staff unless it's accepted and they had something in mind coding wise. Pros and Cons? This would give Detectives a way to get way more street busts. Go undercover as a basic level criminal, and finds way to root out criminals. Would give them more things to investigate, and how to investigate. It would give people a way to start factions without having to use another factions whitelist, and would allow them to build themselves up. It would allow people to start small gangs, as we all know the lords above will not allow another street gang. All in and all, it may be a healthy addition to the server to allow people to act like basic criminals without becoming a mafioso persay.

If another staff member was on, I would let them take the ticket so the situation could be handled by someone who does not personally know the player. If I was the only staff member on, I would take statements from both sides, check the logs and recordings, and do my best to judge it fairly. Diverge is a very diverse place filled with many different types of people. The Joe Pesci wannabes, the british kids, and even femboys, this server has it all. But what I really want to address is the duality of larp. On one hand you have a group like the Gambino family, they do a badass ritual just for becoming associate. They put the rp experience before all else. On the other, you have people like Codda who want to steal the Ark, Larp KFC, or even people who larp as clown bikers! One side puts genuine effort into improving the rp experience, while the other side seems to treat the server as if were are in a sandbox or darkrp server. This is like when immigrants flood into a country and try to change it to accommodate themselves when its them who need to acclimate and adjust to our way of larp. The immigrants are low iq minges, and the citizens are the awesome og larpers. Why does this matter? I think it matters because when people move into your home (my home is diverge) and try to fundamentally change the things that make it your home, its giving them an inch to take a mile. If you let these low quality players change the fabric of the server enough then we will become what we tried to separate ourselves from! Darkrp!! How do we fix this?
