+/- It's not a bad application but I think there is a lot of rambling in the app where you don't really say anything at all. The backstory part is great, I just wish this would carry over into the main body of the application. You mention many times about 'creating RP scenarios' but you don't actually tell us what these scenarios are. I think you may be on to something, but you need to make your application stand out and show us EXACTLY how it's different from other factions. Don't be afraid to get specific and in depth, it's only going to help you. PRO: - Backstory is well written and I enjoyed the story behind it, and I liked the way it was written from someone's perspective. - Ethnicity is different than the usual, which is always good to see. CON - Low playtime, as others have stated your playtime is quite low. - Assumptions on the racket. Your entire application is pretty much based on you getting a weapons racket. Without it, you're going to have to funnel guns through a faction who already has it - which is going to be difficult. I think you'd of been better to make a point that the faction also has a lucrative drug trade that way you're covered for whichever racket you are given. - In the 'Provide examples of roleplay' you actually don't say anything. You mention 'jobs' but give no example of what these jobs are. You then start talking about a made man ceremony which every faction has, but give no examples of how yours is different from anyone else, you just simply say 'they swear loyalty to X'. - The AEY thing is unnecessary, and at its heart is still a gun shop. If you're going to include this - Give us more, it seems very quickly slapped together.

There is already a sort of witsec system in the server. I think anything additional would just become convoluted and unnecessary.

Hi there, As the PKing admin has already stated that the don of the faction requested for you to be killed. I have done some investigating and confirmed that this is a valid PK. Your appeal has been reviewed and denied. We have determined this PK to be reasonable and/or justified. You may not re-appeal this PK.

Make an rp way to flip cars back onto their wheels
Fox replied to Matthew Montgomery's topic in Denied
Just call an admin like everyone else. Any 'RP' way of flipping your car would be abused to push cars into others. Just call staff. -
Been suggested before. Believe the verdict was that, although it does have some benefits, it would become more of an annoyance than anything.

Horse race and Sports betting Gambling License
Fox replied to CobraKaiChampion's topic in Suggestions
I mean, it sounds great on paper but do you really expect pendred to code a virtual horse racing sim? seems like a big ask, when there is likely more pressing updates that he'll be working on. IMO if you can find the actual plugins or even assets used, that would be more beneficial to the suggestion -
Let us have the equipped gun of the person we pk plz!
Fox replied to handsome's topic in Suggestions
Entirely agree. If you want their shit then tie them up and take it before you PK them IMO, at least there is risk involved that way. -
You have multiple flag warnings all around the same time. Please note that if you abuse your PET flags again, they will be removed straight away. Your flag appeal has been reviewed and accepted. The blacklist will be lifted from your account shortly.

J walking is a nothing crime. You can have a gun license revoked for gun related crime but you can run over multiple people, serve your time and then just do it again, and again.
-
Exactly, then if you get caught driving without a license the police can step in and arrest you
-
May have been suggested before but I think it would be good to include some sort of DVLA / Driving license system. I have a feeling that people will either agree entirely or disagree entirely. Here is my proposal: Similarly to the police test, you obtain a license by going through a form and getting a % correct Make it so that police can give you points for driving like a dickhead, get too many points and your license is revoked, driving without a license is a serious offence. . (You can't spawn a car without a license, but once you've obtained it, you can then still drive with a revoked license) To get your license put back in good standing you have to speak to the DVLA (sub dept of the gov) and pay for a driving test to prove your competence. PRO - Would stop a lot of VDM of people just joining factions, obtaining a car and running people over. - Create more driving RP, made men might rely on drivers more for example. - More fun, realistic RP. - Adds another way of reducing money on the economy - More RP for the low level police who will be able to do more traffic stops - New gov department will mean new RP and potentially a new legal way to make money - Less dickheadish driving - More of a risk of keeping illegal items in your car CON - Might not be popular to gatekeep driving as people like driving recklessly - Implementation might be difficult, or if implemented a lot of people will get caught by the changes as they aren't aware. - Might not be as fun as I think, may make the 'serious RP' a little too serious

All of your previous offenses are for RDM I highly recommend you re-read the rules on killing. Whilst I can understand the frustration of someone ear-raping or using a bad voice changer, you should have alerted staff as Bullets advised already. Your ban appeal has been reviewed and denied. We have determined this ban to be reasonable and/or justified. Ensure you have read our Server Rules.

Hell yeah. I was actually working on a beat'em up game called Streets of Diverge. Arcade prop Make a web UI that opens up a web browser when you press E on it Load up a itch.io to Streets of Diverge Play for the highscore ????? Profit

The appeal, and especially this reply - reeks of the use of AI. If you're so sorry, why did you use AI to write your appeal for you?

It's a loss of RP for the cops still. Cops tend to want to spend time doing an investigation. Imagine you're trying to RP and you leave the guy in a cell for a moment and WHOOPSIE we've got another person who's randomly killed themselves. I hate suicide in cell RP. It's just lacks backbone.
-
I can see the intent behind it but, although people hate them, the police play a massive part of the server and this would just remove a huge portion of RP for them.

During my time being apart of the Diverge community (particularly in my time as staff) I have read almost every faction application that has come through and seen a lot of similar flaws in applications that people fall into. So I've taken it upon myself to create a guide for all of you who are thinking about applying for your own faction. It will be broken up into points for TLDR and a write up after for those of you that are interested in bettering their application. Don't take this as gospel, or the be all and end all of making an application. This is just my take on it. I will probably update it over time too. Pre-Application Things you should get right before even making the application. You need experience to be a don/boss/leader Whilst being a leader of a faction can be fun, it can also be quite taxing. Everybody that joins your faction will be looking at you to guide them and to provide the bare basis of roleplay. You are the glue that holds the faction together. Whilst some first time Don's are can flourish in the role, it is highly encouraged that you get some experience in playing the server before becoming a Don. Learn the skills, learn how the discords work. A higher play time can only be better for your application. Write down your ideas I find it highly beneficial to write down your ideas before you start writing an application. What kind of faction do you want to run? what names do you have in mind? any backstory ideas, even fun and interesting RP ideas. Anything you write down can be referred to. I found this really helpful when I made my own application, when I was hitting brick walls - i could refer back to my notes. DO-NOT's Things you should avoid when writing your faction application Don't use AI to generate your application The use of AI in a faction application is a nono. Some people spend hours on their applications, and to use AI to generate your application is a big slap in the face to the people who have really worked hard. However using AI as a tool can have it's benefits. If you start getting a bit of writer's block, using AI as a tool to give you some ideas may be helpful, but do not copy it verbatim as that won't get you anywhere. Don't copy other applications Copying another application and changing a few words is entirely pointless. Make your application your own creation. Use other accepted applications as a benchmark, reading those and understanding why they were accepted will be very helpful. Be overpowered When writing your application consider that if you're accepted you will likely start small. There isn't much point in writing a backstory that you 'run the streets of NY'. DO's Things you should do or consider when writing a successful application Be unique in your faction name and heritage We get it, it's 'Mafia RP', the most popular heritage is going to be Italian, but try to think outside of the box. Whilst Italian can be an interesting pick and offers a great range of RP. There are organised crime gangs in every part of the world, so if you have a good idea... why not make it into an application? the freedom you can have whilst picking a unique heritage is only as far as your imagination can take you. Spend a lot of time on your backstory Your backstory is critical to your application getting accepted. Think about your roots, your heritage and your faction name. Be creative, think outside the box or consider using a real gang that has existed, that way the backstory is all ready for you to review and put into your own wording. In my opinion a good backstory should answer these questions: - Where the faction comes from - The name of the faction - The main players - What got you into illegal operations - How and why you landed in New York (If you're a jamaican faction, why are you in New York) Write up a nice backstory and read it through a couple of times, and pick out anything that doesn't make sense or doesn't feel right and rewrite it. Have someone else read it. Use images Images aren't a requirement when making an application, but they help greatly. Not only do they break up potential walls of text but they can help show the reader exactly what you're talking about. I've seen some great applications where people have made scenario's inside the game itself. You could use real images of mobsters, or pictures of places etc. Come up with some unique roleplay examples Now you've got your backstory written up, come up with some good examples of what roleplay you would bring to the table. What separates you from all of the other applicants and current factions in the server. Some great examples are things like, what business you want to run, what events would you like to host. Make sure you meet the word count The backstory section has a minimum word count of 250. Make sure that you at least hit this. Anything after that is a bonus! the more expressive you can be, the better tha backstory will read. Common Pitfalls A few common mistakes or things that make an application look worse off. Declaring what drug you want in your backstory Try not to declare what drug your faction is in, in your backstory. There is no guarantee that you will end up with that drug if your application is approved. Grammar and punctuation Try to use proper grammar and punctuation in your backstory. It shows that you've spent time on your application and you actually care about the people who read it. Repetition I've seen so many applications where people repeat certain things and it makes the reader check out. For example, a lot of the time people will repeat the name of the boss. In one case the name of the boss appeared in the backstory over 24 times, it just looks kind of sloppy.

PKing admin here (sort of) So just some info on the PK. I was asked to set two individuals as PK active by someone else in your faction. You and him drove around the city looking for them, bumping into them a number of times but they kept giving you the slip. The other guy cornered one of them in an alley and shot him but he managed to live and escape and make it back to his 'brother'. Following that, presumably now extremely cautious around you both, you found them and tried to lure them with promises of promotions and money but they chose to hire some people instead to attack you before you could attack them again

PKing admin here (sort of) So just some info on the PK. You asked me to set two individuals as active, I watched for a bit as you chased them around the town trying to get them to somewhere out of the way. They tried to run away and didn't want to go with you. You and your friend chased them in a car, and they managed to get away a few times. You found one of them in an alley and shot him and he hopped the fence and ran away and probably linked back up with his 'brother'. You then tried to lure them back into the Legacy building offering promotions and money but at this time they were already aware of your intentions, and knew you were a threat because of your previous blunder in trying to shoot them in the alley.
