Hey all, I'm taking the time to write out something that has been on my mind pretty much since the last racket event or when I made my last post about punishment scaling in the events. I think the server could really benefit from having some kind of in-character way to get rid of felonies, instead of it just being pardoned or donation-related stuff. Right now if you catch a felony, you’re kinda just stuck with it for a while. It doesn’t really create RP, it just limits what you can do until your either dead or pay father pendred. Stuff that already exists could be used: Doing city jobs / labor work (trash, maintenance, whatever!) Taxi driving for a certain amount of rides or time Fishing at the docks and turning in fish as like a “city quota” Nothing crazy complicated, just tasks that add up over time, and that take a certain amount of time. Add PD Ride-Alongs as a Way to Work Off Felonies Just adding onto the idea of being able to work off felonies, I think it’d be cool if PD ride-alongs were also an option. Not as a main method, but like another path people could take depending on the situation. What I mean Let people with certain felonies do a ride-along with PD and have that count toward reducing it. Nothing crazy just something structured. How it could work You get approved for it (probably by PD HC or a judge) You ride with an officer for a set amount of time You’re expected to actually listen, follow instructions, not mess around etc. If you waste time or troll, you just get removed from this process entirely no retries and it doesn’t count. My main motivation for applying is to enhance and protect the experience of my fellow players on Diverge. Roleplay can already be challenging at times, and I’ve personally experienced moments where I needed staff assistance but had trouble getting it. With over 8,400 hours in Garry’s Mod and a strong desire to help others, I feel a genuine sense of duty to give back to the community that has given me so many great moments. I want to be the reliable staff member who ensures everyone can enjoy their time on the server without unnecessary disruptions. Why should you be considered over other candidates? I believe I should be considered because I am highly accountable, have no ego, and maintain a strong growth mindset. I hold myself to high standards and am always hungry to learn more. Beyond general GMod experience, I bring deep knowledge from my roles in the Courts, Bar Association, police department, and both legal and illegal businesses- knowledge that not even some current admins possess. While I don’t see myself as better than anyone, I am confident in what I know and how I can contribute meaningfully to the staff team through my experience, merit, and dedication. Do you have any previous staffing experience? Yes. This server was built in part by Canadian Bacon, who I staffed with years ago. When we were teenagers, we both served as admins on a server called Chronet, handling in-game admin duties as well as forum work such as appeals and ban requests. I was there for at least a year, possibly closer to two. After Chronet, I staffed on several other Garry’s Mod servers, though I don’t remember every detail of those positions anymore. Have you been banned before on any of our servers? If so, why? No, I have never been banned or received any warnings or rule punishments on your servers. Would you say that you are well known in our community, what's your reputation, what do other members think of you? Yes, I would say I am fairly well known in the community. Many players recognize my characters, whether as the fair/teacher cop Danny Silvershine, the prosecutor Daniel K. Park in the courtroom, or Adrian Nakamura as a lawyer, arms dealer, and mechanic. Across all of these roles I’ve focused on creating and empowering roleplay for others while treating everyone with kindness and respect. Even when there is in-character conflict, I never let it create out-of-character bias. I believe most community members see me as fair, consistent, and someone who genuinely enjoys bringing positive energy to the server. What is your favorite moment on Diverge so far? I have quite a few favorite moments, but the ones that stand out the most are the times I’ve been promoted, whether it was at the District Attorney’s Office, within the police department, or inside various crime factions. There’s something very satisfying about seeing all the hard work and dedication pay off and get officially acknowledged by the community and leadership. Have any staff members recommended you? Not at this time. I haven’t made any staff members aware that I’ve applied yet. I plan to reach out privately to those I know for support once this application is submitted. I prefer not to name-drop or create any sense of open bias, that’s simply not how I like to conduct myself. ___________________________________ Problem Solving: Someone RDMs and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this? If I am able to hop on duty without interrupting important roleplay, I will do so and take the ticket directly. If I am currently in the middle of active roleplay, I will keep an eye on the ticket queue and the flow of tickets being accepted by on-duty staff. Once my roleplay concludes, if the ticket is still open, I will request that the player remake the ticket so I can take it properly while on duty. If the admin system allows for better handling of off-duty situations, I will quickly learn and adapt to that method to ensure the situation is addressed efficiently and fairly. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do? The first step I would take is to speak with them privately in a calm and respectful manner. There may be context I’m unaware of, and addressing it directly like a fellow team member can often resolve the issue without escalating unnecessarily. I would explain what I’ve observed and give them the opportunity to clarify or correct the behavior. If the issue continues after our conversation, I would then escalate it to higher staff following proper protocol, always prioritizing the integrity of the staff team and the community. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. How do you proceed knowing this? It doesn’t matter how well I know the person or what my personal experience with them is- everyone must be treated fairly and equally under the rules. If no other staff member is available to take the ticket and it falls to me, I will handle it with complete impartiality, judging only based on the evidence and server rules. If at any point I feel that my personal connection could create even the appearance of bias, I will immediately disclose this to fellow staff members and recuse myself from the ticket to ensure fairness. Maintaining trust in the staff team is more important than any personal relationship.

Community service and other things mentioned is quite actually a good idea, it could become an alternative instead of serving a sentence/going to court which would help DA office clear some bloat but most people sign off on misdemeanors anyways i dont believe it should be a way to get rid of felonies as it would just entirely ruin the point / risk of felonies and why you should work to avoid them etc Felons obviously dont magically lose their charges nor can lose those charges regardless of what they do (irl obviously) I do believe maybe a potential stretch could be if an arresting officer lets say 3-6 months past the felony can testify before the court arguing the felon is reformed but this could lead to metagame so probably not, if a testify system does however come into place the community service/ride alongs mentioned above can contribute towards proving "Reformity"

Just having to be in uniform on patrol isn't enough. require all detectives to wear traffic vests and make their names stand out with neon and show up 100 ft away. This may slightly balance it out

I'm barely seeing the ban reason now, because right as they banned me I just got off but during the whole sit they said I was RDM baiting because I had shot a dude that punched my friend. Now it's MRDM? Anyways, I'd like to point out the fact that I feel I was wrongfully and biasedly banned. While I was shooting at the volpe guys I was instantly froze and brought to another rooftop by adam (well known commission altoviti HC). And he asked me why I am RDM baiting, I explained how I wasn't and that the volpe guys punched my friend so that's why I shot the guy. I'd like to point out that I had previously went on the La Volpe balcony way before this whole shootout went down and we had no issues what so ever, I even asked one of them how they are doing and they respectfully told me that the balcony is staff only for right now. (However I didn't tell this to henry, the guy who got punched) so he wasn't even aware of the whole situation. After I was pulled to the sit, Novi (altoviti main who had absolutely nothing to do with the sit) instantly came on his staff character to make bias comments that benefit his faction/alliance, aswell as another guy who was on his wop character, he was staff but I don't know which one it was. Sure, Zeus was the one handing out the bans, but adam was the one that told Zeus to perma ban me, also why did almost every single member of Underground Association get a note for RDM? Yumeko even got a note and she hadn't even killed anybody. The staff that handled the situation were bias as fuck and only cared to benefit their factions and not the fairness of other players. I just simply dont see the RDM bait in the shooting that occured last night, they wanted to punch my friend henry for who knows what reason and then when I shoot them they report it. Hey, So first I'm going to clarify some things. You were quitting a char so you decided to give away your items. Ok, something most of us have done in the past. Then your friend gives you a suit on a new char, ok an argument can certainly be made for char abuse in that case. The suit received had no connection to previously on the altoviti char, and we have decided that just receiving a suit from a friend on a new char in this case does not warrant a ban and a pk. Of course char abuse is a case by case basis and every detail matters, but this case the evidence is not sufficient therefore this ban will be accepted and the pk will be revoked.

Thank you a lot for some insight. Medinator had planned on killing Daniel Cybo due to IC Conflicts and some OOC means. I was part of his will and in this will I got access to one of his bank accounts. His character in Sons of Silence (Henry Williams) had reached out to me and me and him had an IC discussion. We decided it was in our best interests to try to put a hold on any beefs the Bonanno family and the SOS might have had (Mine and his characters are Capo's). Following these events, I had given him my Mint Suit that I've already pre-owned for awhile now, and gave it to him in good faith as a gift in order to solidify our agreements ICly. The bank account that I was given due to the will, had a Mint Casino suit in it already, so I thought why not give my current one to him? No point in having 2 of them. Edit: This is not me trying to be argumentative ^, just me explaining my side of the story.

Hello, banning moderator here. Reason: While it is true you were in jail, and in cuffs, the arresting Detective came back around and opened your cell door and proceeded to search you. You guys technically made contact; arresting Detective opened your door, you moved, he started the search and you vanished. Rule(s) Broken: 1) LTARP: LTAP/LTARP = Leaving the server to avoid punishment/role play - You intentionally left the server so the arresting Detective would not be able to get what he needed from your persons. This is considered LTARP, as you are avoiding the roleplay. 2) Section "Prisoner Rules", Rule 1 states that "When you are arrested you must endure the arrest process," and if you "do not return within 10 minutes, this will be considered LTARP." - The rules pretty much sums it up. Upon checking logs, you had disconnected, and not changed characters and neither did you ever return within 10 minutes. This is considered LTARP. I came to the decision of banning you for 2 Days because you are a Detective as well. You should know better than most people thrown into a cell. Thank you, and have a blessed day. - sshy

You can apply to the chief judge to get your felony removed as long as its a none violent felony
