Your Ban Appeal Has Been Reviewed and Accepted After careful review, I have determined that this incident was an accident. Accidents can happen to any player, and this does not meet the criteria for a Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM) violation. VDM involves the intentional use of a vehicle to attack or harm another player with no valid roleplay reason. In this case, there was no clear intent to harm, which is a key element of the rule. Prior offenses are only considered when the same intentional violation is repeated. Since intent was lacking here, previous incidents do not apply to this ruling. Your ban will be lifted shortly. As this has been deemed an invalid ban, it will also be removed from your record. Thank you for your patience!

Hello PKing Admin here! After reviewing the video evidence and the full details of the situation at the time, here is why I did my ruling. The player knowingly took a dropped high-value cosmetic item ($40k), refused to give it back when asked then ran off with it, and then pulled a gun while fleeing. This was a clear case of intentional theft/robbery that escalated into armed confrontation. Relevant rules from the PK Guidelines: Under Mugging / Robbery: Being killed while attempting to mug or rob someone carries the possibility of a PK. Financial Harm: Theft causing significant financial loss (well over the $10,000 threshold noted in the guidelines for harm to a player/faction) is listed as valid grounds. Fear RP & Confrontations: Pulling a weapon during the escape turns this into a violent situation where the victim can escalate because it's not like they can tie them up or get it back. While not every item theft results in a PK (especially minor or non-escalated ones), the troll intent, direct refusal after confrontation, and drawing a gun make this a valid in my eyes under our rules. Staff discretion applies here regardless, and I believe the escalation and value of the item support permanent death. I wish Tables the best of luck in this appeal decision, and that's about it from me.

+1 A lot of people are going to sit here and say "minge this" or "minge that," or claim he's broken the rules so many times that he's no longer capable of the role. The fact of the matter is, he likes having too much fun sometimes and has a history of doing silly, stupid things. However, if you actually sit down with him and ask the important questions about staying impartial, being patient, and not letting your emotions get in the way he can articulate those values clearly. He understands them, and he knows how to help other players apply them. He's not a perfect person (none of us are), but the fact that he's been on this server for so long, has broken rules in the past, yet consistently takes accountability says volumes. He's someone who genuinely cares and wants to help others learn the ropes easier than he had to. That's something to admire. If you don't believe me, take the time to talk to him yourself and look at his actions. He cares deeply about RP and is focused on making it fun for everyone involved. At the end of the day, that's what staff is truly about.

I'll attach a link to the clip to better demonstrate what I observed. While the footage should provide a clearer view of the events, I was simultaneously managing multiple factors not visible on screen. As a result, I cannot definitively state exactly what escalated the situation in front of me. What I can confirm is that I observed a person being shot with a gun. I also saw another individual whom I do not know if they fired at the time- wearing a mask. That is all I can reliably state regarding the situation. https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/n2s7l2MzyTBkt0Cgq?invite=cr-MSxVQncsNTAyMjEyNzg4&v=30

+1 Since I first joined this server and the Diverge community, Rebel has been an outstanding mentor to me. He has given me countless opportunities to learn nearly every aspect of legal and police RP. Beyond that, he helped me truly understand metagaming rules and server rules in general. Whether serving as a Judge within the courts, a Detective, or in any other role, Rebel has consistently demonstrated that he genuinely cares about his friends, but more importantly, he prioritizes what is right and best for the community as a whole. He approaches every situation with fairness, zero bias, and no personal grudges. His years of deep experience on Diverge make him an invaluable asset to the staff team. Out of everyone I’ve recommended for staff, Rebel stands out far above the rest. I strongly hope he receives this position and I know he will excel in it and continue doing great things for the community if simply given the chance.

+1 I’ve interacted with Logic a lot and can confidently say he’s still a young soul. That said, when it comes down to brass tacks, he consistently approaches situations impartially, shares knowledge, and enforces the rules fairly. Having played nearly every role on the server, he has both the experience and the availability to get the job done effectively.

+1 A strong staff candidate needs to handle responsibility impartially, stay active and available, and actually understand the server. Ender has been here since 2025 with a clean record and a solid grasp of the rules. We especially need coverage during off-peak / awkward hours. An international player like Ender helps fill gaps that most of us can’t, which benefits the whole community. Age isn’t a real concern. We already have younger staff, and I was admining at 15-16 on one of the few original servers that inspired Diverge. Ender isn’t immature he’s a DOJ main who already makes jail decisions daily, respects due process, and shows creativity. He’s also played every character type on the server. We’ve accepted worse candidates. Giving anything less than neutral or +1 (unless you have serious objections) does the community a disservice. He deserves a fair shot.

-1 I rarely speak out this strongly against giving someone another chance, but in this case, I feel it's necessary. Attached I've sent the recent DMs he sent me during the time to which I banned him. Besides that I'd like to say this. While he wasn't the worst staff member we've had, the team is currently running smoothly without him. We shouldn't lower our standards just to add more bodies. This is the Diverge of today, not a few years ago. He was recently banned and continues to disagree with the reasoning behind it. In his forum post, he simply dismissed it as "retarded." He lashes out angrily at anyone who personally disagrees with him. This level of reactivity is unprofessional for staff. Even in his likely response to post, he's likely to push back without any apology or politeness to me whom has been nothing but professional towards him throughout his ban that I administrated in good faith. That should say enough alone. As a staff member who's been here for nearly a year, I have zero notes on my account. He has over 30! A consistent pattern of bans and notes shows a lack of accountability or issues with emotional regulation which are essential for any staff member to have and maintain during their duties.

+1 I understand some of the negativity people place around you, but these interactions are far and in between. What I'd say to any skeptic is that nobody is perfect, and that this level of experience and hours should count towards something. Not only this but he is very accountable and genuinely cares about the experience of others in his care. In the end it should all count for something in my opinion.

Hello! I’m the banning admin on this. I’ve gathered the clips, logs, and details below to give full context. Before I get into the matter, I want the player's behaviors to be taken into account. String has been highly toxic since the ban. This includes heavy use of slurs and insults in his appeal, continued insults in general chat, and sending abusive messages in my DMs. While this does not change the facts of the ban itself, it demonstrates a clear lack of accountability and maturity in my opinion. Quick Summary of Events: String cuffed the player and after only 19 minutes and 3 seconds took him straight to the plea NPC and auto-pleaded him on a felony charge. The clip provided by the player shows them disagreeing with String whom is clearly upset and willing to leave the player there or put them in jail. After some short disagreement String simply decides to take it upon himself to auto-plea the player. Towards the end, the player is repeatedly asking for their lawyer and gets forced to take a felony charge due to String filing a conviction. https://medal.tv/games/garrys-mod/clips/mLvSy8lsd8B9NISW0?invite=cr-MSw1NGksMTU3OTMwNDA0 Per our rules, when a suspect is requesting a lawyer or contesting the arrest, officers are required to do 30 minutes of active RP and get staff approval before auto-pleading. Neither of those happened here. Plea deals are supposed to be offered and signed in the cells, bypassing that and forcing it at the NPC is both RDA and Powergaming. Additional Details: I was unable to locate any ticket made by String about this situation (this is due to when I logged on + likely log restrictions). When I logged in and tried to speak with him about it, he was AFK which was unfortunate but I did give him a little time to come back. This is not his first offense. He has prior bans/notes for similar powergaming and should know better. I consulted with Animator and AceAdmiral before issuing the ban. At the end of the day, frustration with a difficult or minge player doesn’t excuse skipping the required RP timer and staff approval. Officers are held to a higher standard, especially when the suspect was actively trying to engage in the process by requesting a lawyer. I believe the ban and PD blacklist should stay in place but possibly be modified for a proper set of days. To the staff member looking this over, let me know if you need anything else. Thank you and best of luck on your appeal String.

Hello! I'm the supporting admin who gathered the clips and logs after you LTARP'd. I passed everything over to Lunar because I would have been conflicted handling the ban myself. At the end of the day, whether or not the officer knew your identity beforehand doesn't change the outcome. You were visibly carrying a shotgun on your back in public, so any officer would have stopped you for that. Once you began evading, the apartment breach and chase would have also been justified. Regarding the name reveal power gaming claim. The mutual introduction mechanic requires the recipient to actively accept via F2. You had full control over whether to accept or decline. In the future, if you're around in a public area or possibly around people you don’t want to share your name with, it’s best to move to a private location before doing any introductions. I don’t condone any actual misconduct with the introduction system if it occurred, but the core situation (armed suspect evading) was handled within the rules. You’ve acknowledged that LTARP was wrong and that you denied roleplay to others, that’s why the ban in my opinion should stay in place.

+1 Very smart and continues to want to improve himself and help others around him.

+1 White Collar Corp has been a nice staple towards roleplay. Really have enjoyed seeing it evolve and it already in itself feels like it should be a faction.
