I banned you because you were sat on top of a roof shooting down on civilians without making any attempts of arrest but you didn't do this once but twice, not to mention you were in plain clothes and had no badge on. You mentioned the reason behind shooting these people was because "Shooting people because their friends are being punched isn't the correct use of force" which is ironic because don't you think executing a player without making an attempt of arrest would also not be the correct use of force? What server rule or PK rule was violated?: So I have a ton of thoughts on this because the staff members that handled my PK did it with so much blatant disrespect its insane but ill keep it calm and just explain, This character was made 2 days ago while I was stuck in jail as my character John Catani with the sole purpose of being the ghetto cousin of T money who is a straight and narrow guy who keeps himself into legal ventures. My RP consisted of moving dope and being a thug so i was quite literally the polar opposite of my cousin and we could roll together in a crew. After 24 hours of this roleplay I decided to start recruiting more guys into our crew who had no faction ties (And probably werent going to since theyre black and just about every faction on this server has an extreme prejudice) so we made a little gang and we set up an apartment in the ghetto with props and started recruiting more guys to hangout with us and just be overall little scum lords who werent tied down to a faction. I mugged someone ONE TIME and needed help with a glitched gun we stole off him so i called staff. The staff member arrived and helped me out and i told my homeboy bet we can use this to try and catch someone else im tryna rob some more. somehow someway they have come up with the idea in their heads (Since they wouldnt let me speak and just instantly pked me) that the entire purpose of my char was to be a mugging char? no me and T money were talking about all of us throwing in money and trying to setup a whole organized faction on the server since street gang roleplay just doesnt exist here right now. and instead ive been pked since they for some reason believe my whole RP is stupid and in their opinions not RP... who are you to tell me my faction rp isnt rp just because im not a mafia if you dont want to allow ghetto street gang RP explicitly state that dont just PK my char without giving me the time to speak. I agree with this, and I have an idea that might help. Since there are really not many ways to track down someone who committed a mugging, we need more ways to get IC proof. Maybe to help with this and add to the server's roleplay, we might be able to get something added that maybe could be left on scene and taken by only the people in the faction that got mugged/mugger", even by only using maybe a /me to get the evidence, or maybe an IC item. For example, maybe the perpetrator didn't wear gloves when restraining a victim and left fingerprints on them or some type of DNA to be captured. After being restrained, maybe somebody could do something like this, "/me uses a Fingerprint testing Kit on restraints to test for fingerprint. Then have the staff decide the outcome whether they had gloves on or not(a clip might help). Whether the mugger had gloves or didn't. This could even be a way for factions to use corrupt cops to potentially find out whose DNA/Fingerprints it was and if they are in the system through RP. I'm not saying that this is the only way this could be done, but I think it's something to think about and could be an alternative to finding out who mugged someone while adding RP and helping people get revenge on their muggers. Once you have 100% undeniable proof that someone mugged you through this, you could call the staff and have them set PK active. As for how this could work, maybe up to 15-30 minutes after the mugging occurred, someone could use a Fingerprint testing kit or something of the matter that could be used to collect the evidence. Maybe there could be some type of "Fingerprint Testing Kit" at the barge that someone could buy and use IC to collect information. This item, when used, might do a /me that says "testing for Fingerprints" or something of the nature, and then add a "Fingerprint slide" to your inventory when used. Then, when staff are available, they can rule whether the evidence is credible, and can be used ic, as they do have the logs to show(or clip). I'm not saying that this is the only way, but just giving an example. The current state of mugging is very straightforward, and not a whole lot can be done to muggers. If there was more IC ways to get evidence, then maybe people could find muggers and stop metagaming from occurring. Instead of metagaming and flooding someones dm's after a mugging, they could go IC and try to see if they could collect information somehow and figure out who the mugger is. Something like this would actually provide more real RP to the server and could help all around, in my opinion.

Since I joined on January 7th I’ve put over 500 hours into my main character, so I’m on pretty consistently and I’ve seen a lot of different situations play out. After a while it just feels like I should be doing more than just roleplaying and actually helping out on the staff side too. I’ve seen situations where staff handled things really well and it kept everything calm, and I’ve also seen situations go the opposite way and turn into OOC arguments. That’s probably the biggest reason I want to apply, because I’d rather be someone who helps keep things fair and under control instead of letting it get messy. I didn’t apply earlier because I didn’t want to rush into it without actually understanding how the server works. I’ve interacted with a lot of different people and groups, so I’m not really stuck in one circle, which helped me get a better feel for the community overall. As for my reputation, I think most people see me as someone who takes roleplay seriously and doesn’t try to turn everything into an OOC issue. I usually try to keep things in character and handle situations properly instead of escalating them. I think that’s something that would carry over well into a staff position. What is your favourite moment on Diverge so far?: One of my favorite moments was the recent racket event where different factions had to compete for packages and targets. It was super chaotic, but in a good way, and it felt like everyone was fully engaged in the RP. It stood out to me because it brought a lot of people together and created a lot of interaction across different groups instead of everyone just staying in their own lanes. Events like that are what make the server feel active and fun. I’d definitely like to help be part of something like that in the future, whether it’s assisting or helping host it. How do you handle this?: If I’m off-duty and I witness it, I’d clip or record what happened so there’s clear evidence. After that, I’d either make a ticket or let on-duty staff know so someone who’s currently handling sits can deal with it. If a ticket is already up, I’d send whatever evidence I have to the staff member handling it and explain what I saw. I wouldn’t take the sit myself since I was directly involved as a witness. If no staff are available at all, I’d go on-duty to make sure the situation doesn’t get ignored, but I’d still try to keep my involvement minimal and base everything on evidence and logs rather than just my own perspective. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: If I noticed something like that, I wouldn’t jump straight to accusing them. I’d pay attention first and make sure I actually have clear examples of what’s happening, whether that’s clips or anything that shows a pattern instead of just one situation. Once I’m sure there’s actually an issue, I’d bring it up privately to a higher staff member or upper administration and show them what I’ve got. I wouldn’t call it out publicly or try to handle it myself, since stuff like that should be dealt with properly and through the right people. At the end of the day, staff should be held to the same standard as everyone else. If there’s a pattern of abuse, it should be looked into, just in a calm and professional way. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: Yes, it does count as possible bias, so the first thing I’d do is avoid taking the sit if another staff member is available. I’d let someone else handle it so it stays completely fair for both sides. If I was the only staff online and had to deal with it, I’d ignore the fact that I know them and just go off evidence. I’d get both sides, check clips or logs, and treat it like any other ticket. Just because they don’t usually act like that doesn’t mean they couldn’t have broken a rule in that situation. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t let my relationship with them affect the outcome. If they broke a rule, they’d be punished the same as anyone else.

-1 i met him in the city and we became friends because we had some things in common. we used to talk from time to time, not that often, but we were on good terms, later on i found out that he had been talking behind my back just to get closer to a girl. He’s basically two-faced, the type who smiles to your face but goes behind your back. There’s no way someone like that can be fair or unbiased as a staff member. I saw this man shoot a group of people who were attempting to flee from him. I shot him but did not kill him and called him down radio for someone to arrest him. When I tried to move the cop car towards the sidewalk and mechanics shop it unexpectedly flipped caught on fire and killed 3 people I did not intend to commit RDM it was an accident and i genuinely didn't know it could result in that.
