  2. As a player with a large amount of notes and bans, and a lot of them recently for micspam, soundboard etc. I think the combination of continued micspamming, choosing a failname for your char and then abusing a relatively well-known mechanic justified a ban. That being said, you did allow yourself (for the most part) to be cuffed afterwards, and continue the arrest RP. I will give you benefit of the doubt that you did not understand that would be a rulebreak. You need to read up on our server rules and improve your general behavior when you are online - you have extensive notes and bans over a long period of time, and your bans will only be getting longer from here. Your ban appeal has been reviewed and accepted. The ban will be reduced to 2d.
  3. no one got the point of the post lmao the main point of the post was the fact that cops have the ability to see and hear everything under the sun lmao.
  4. I'd say a little over 10% of the server at any given time being cops seems completely reasonable, to me.
  5. just for that im gonna be sitting on roof tops every day for the next three weeks for warrants and bank warrants fuck you
  6. im not reading that get ur ass pounded kid we finna ramp shit up just cause you posted some shit complaining
  7. "man i sure wonder why there's heavily armed cops in a city that for some reason has 12+ separate criminal factions in which muggings, murders, and several other violent crimes occur on a daily basis. Topping off the fact that the drug trade in this city is literally probably in the lower millions on a weekly basis"

  9. A lot of people probably won’t agree with me on this but god damn, the average amount of cops online at a time always seems to be around 15-25. It’s honestly insane. The whole purpose of having a cop faction in the first place should be to add to mafia RP, not constantly interfere with it. Obviously having cops is necessary for mafia RP but there are just so many of them and they almost always move around in groups of 5+ which is just fucking wild. It would be a little more understandable if things worked somewhat realistically. In real life you can say something quietly to someone without the entire street hearing you and it wouldn’t magically reach a cop sitting on top of a building. I know someone will probably say "that’s why /w exists" but why do we have to limit RP to typing out a /w because cops are such a constant concern? This brings me to my second point, voice chat. I don’t know exactly how the current system works or if something like this is already in place but I feel like it could be made a lot more realistic. Imagine a bubble around someone where the louder their microphone input is the farther away people can hear them. The same thing would work for someone speaking quietly. If their mic isn’t detecting much volume then their voice wouldn’t carry nearly as far. This would make RP so much more technical and immersive. It would allow people to have quieter and more discreet conversations without every interaction having to be "/itaw" or people constantly worrying that the wrong person might happen to walk by and hear them. Now my third point is about cops being able to basically position themselves anywhere and record people from across the street committing crimes. This is especially important considering this is set in the 1990s. Technology was obviously not anywhere close to what it is today. For example, imagine a cop sitting on the roof in Little Italy above the ATM and recording someone who is almost at the edge of their render distance pistol whipping someone. That recording should not realistically be usable as solid evidence against someone for battery, attempted murder or anything similar. Go look at the quality of surveillance cameras and recording equipment available to police in 1990. You simply would not be able to clearly identify someone from across the street with some shitty camera and limited zoom. I understand this is a game and some things are obviously going to be exaggerated but there still needs to be some level of realism. A huge part of mafia RP, even if it is exaggerated, is being able to pistol whip an associate for insulting you or saying something disrespectful without having to worry that some cop sitting on a rooftop half a block away is going to magically witness it, zoom in, identify you and come arrest you. I genuinely don’t understand how that is supposed to be realistic. I know damn well cops in the 1990s weren’t carrying professional movie set equipment onto rooftops and recording random streets just hoping to catch someone committing a crime. If they were conducting surveillance there would usually be a specific person, location or investigation involved. I’m not saying cops shouldn’t be able to observe or investigate crimes. They obviously should. But there needs to be some reasonable limitation on how many cops are online, how they move around, how voice chat works and what can realistically be considered evidence. Otherwise it starts feeling less like mafia RP with a police faction and more like mafia RP where the entire point is just trying to avoid an army of cops who can somehow see and hear everything.

  15. In-Game Name(s): Hirokazu Takahashi, Ezra Rosenthal, Judge Abraham Farkash, Jean-Baptiste Charles Carbone Steam Name: QrowKast Steam Profile Link: https://steamcommunity.com/id/QrowKast/ Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:703467936 Discord Username: Azoro Age: 20 When did you first join the server: When I was like 14 or 15. Unsure the exact date. Total playtime on our Servers (Do !time in-game): 3mo 3d 13h 19m Time Zone: CST How much time can you realistically dedicate to moderating?: 4 - 5 Hours a day. Have you read the rules?: Yes Do you have a working microphone?: Yes Do you acknowledge that you must meet the weekly minimum ticket quota of 20 tickets? (Unless you have posted a valid LOA): Yes Are you familiarized with SAM and/or Nutscript commands?: Yes Do you acknowledge that lying on this application will result in immediate denial and blacklisting from staff?: Yes ------------------------------------------------- Long Answer Questions proceeded with an asterix require a response of 3 Sentences Minimum. What is your motivation/reason for applying?: I was staff when I was younger, and I did enjoy my time in staff before I got busy towards the end of High School and was sadly removed for inactivity if I remember correctly. My motivation is to come back and help with stuff again for the server. Why should you be considered over other candidates?: I'm easier to train, and already have been staff on the server before so I know a majority of the commands and how to do things compared to other candidates. I know what's expected of me. I also since being younger have grown more mature and less of a little shit compared to how I used to be. Do you have any previous staffing experience? (Please list where, what position and how long): - Diverge Networks Have you been banned before on any of our servers? If so, why?: RDM. 3 Day Ban. I was high and ended up shooting the guy with a revolver back when you could still buy guns directly from the gunstore. Haven't been banned since and I think that was around 2 or so years ago. Would you say that you are well known in our community, what's your reputation, what do other members think of you?: Unsure. Ultimately depends on who you ask. Some people like me now that I'm older, but some people didn't like me when I was younger due to how I acted and that's understandable. It's a mixed bag. But I always remained unbiased, or tried to as staff. What is your favourite moment on Diverge so far?: It's unconventional but, I remember when Vagabond crashed out in PD yelling at cops while in invisible mode. Have any staff members recommended you? If so, list their names: Monaclu ------------------------------------------------- Problem Solving Detail step by step exactly the actions you would take. Someone RDMs and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this?: Ultimately, I personally wouldn't be too bothered. But I would ask if anyones available in staff chat using the @ command. If someone says yes, I'll provide the clip and leave it up to them as I did in the past and try to avoid handling it myself unless absolutely necessary. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: Well, the right thing would be to clip it and report it to a higher member of staff and or the Head Staff. From there, I'll let them handle it but if there's a ticket made I'd handle it like any other ticket. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: Well, I'd pull the accusatory party first and ask for video evidence of the accusations. If it's true, I'll pull the offending party and levy the adequate punishment outlined by staff guidelines. If it's found to be untrue, I'd inform the accusatory party and return them. Ultimately, I'd try to avoid bias and the best way to do so is evidence. As evidence cannot really overrule much. ---------------------------------------------------------

  18. Thank you for applying to the Diverge Networks staff team! It is my pleasure to inform you that your application has been accepted. Submit a ticket on our Discord for training and to get setup.
  19. What if you just make the time to open the stash more if you've recently taken damage? It would definitely be better than getting the annoying "you've recently been in a fight" message. Or better yet, if hiding from cops is the main issue, make a system where if a cop is in the vicinity of a player using a stash they can also access said players stash. I understand that might be a complicated system to implement but RP wise it makes alot of sense and it makes people think before trying to stash an item cause said stash could have more incriminating items in it. Give the opportunity for people to escape, and the opportunity for police to investigate
