the biggest source of non actionable meta gaming in garrysmod mafia roleplay is the tab menu (FACT). I understand the implications of removing it from non staff characters but i believe the benefits ultimately outweigh the negatives. To check on your specific org instead of the regular tab menu on the business tab of your f1 menu shows the tab menu of just your faction (PD, Crim, civ, etc). thanks for reading.

My one friend Bobby Montana (we made the Montana family) was who I was rolling with during the time i was playing, I obviously met a few cool people but don't remember their names as it was a good minute ago. And to answer your first sentence I'm not being condescending at all when i say its the best RP on gmod.... it is. That's why i tried logging back on, on my brothers steam (which would answer the ban evasion). Back when I played this server frequently, I was very immature and would just go around calling everyone the n-word, go on random mugs and troll. I was mostly focused on making money and robbing people on my main character and did stupid stuff on my alts. In this time I did really enjoy the roleplay aspect of the server, but I did break the rules on occasion by accident. Although I did try to avoid getting into these situations and breaking the rules, but I was always doing something stupid and would always get caught up. I've been banned now for a little over a year and I want to say that in this time i've really stepped away from gaming for the most part and matured as a person. I really do miss roleplaying on this server and all the fun I've had. If I get unbanned, I plan to roleplay and add to the servers experience instead of take away from it. If I come back to the server I won't be mugging at all, shouting at people for no reason, or breaking any rules. I plan to join a mafia again, meet new people and have the same fun I had when I started without being immature and making rash decisions. I really do regret all the stupid things I did in this server that led to me being perminately banned and I apologize for them. If this does get accepted I just wanna say that I will be coming back to the server with a different headspace. Not someone who wants to mass mug and minge, but someone who actually wants to enjoy what the server has to offer instead of just troll people. Also, for this specific ban in question, I came into the PD and started shooting at like 3-5 cops that was arresting one of my friends and ended up accidentally shooting him aswell. I was on an alt character being stupid and just trying to find any reason to kill someone and didn't realize that killing cops inside of the pd is considered a pd raid. Even though I was just being stupid, I genuinely was trying to stay within the rules of the server as I had just came off a permanent ban. In this particular situation, I was trying to kill the cops and save my friend but I clearly wasn't thinking straight. I had no intention of doing an "Unauthorized pd raid" and didn't even know that that was a thing. Since playing on this server i've matured a lot and will be coming back in a completely different way. If I get another chance to be apart of this server I can promise that I will contribute to this community. No more minge, muggings, harassing people, and doing stupid stuff. I will be coming back strictly to roleplay and have fun with the people in this community. Like I said previously, I've read the rules a few times over and can almost recite them by heart. Lately it just feels like powergame is being defined insanely broadly. I've read the rules but it seems like on all sides of RP lately be it crim or gov is just being widely voided. You can't use the laws as they're written if they're gonna hurt someone above made (even made cases get voided too really). If the case feels like it might have lasting meaningful effects due to faction negligence, that's worth a void. This one is actually happening a lot lately. Charges stemming from negligence will be dropped especially when dealing with technicalities -- a staple of law that was used to bring historically relevant mobsters to justice. The server has gotten insanely soft on this issue. You can't send UC's without meeting a long laundry list of criteria but if they're from an enemy alliance on an alt char that's powergame but it's conflict to send em if they have an allied alt (don't even get started on the cross-char consequences too that's a can of worms on its own). Engaging in lawfare will likely result in a void. You can't weaponize the court system as a mobster or scumbag lawyer anymore especially when it comes to large sums of money from long established characters or government officials. This argument isn't even complaining about how hard it is for the gov to sue factions it's actually the other way around. Even now cases against the gov are being voided for powergame. LegalRP has been a diverge staple and hallmark but it's constantly being eroded. Detectives being hamstringed. DA's office having its time wasted. And now even crim/civ lawyers can't bring cases to be a menace anymore. Nothing feels IC its always having to fight your case with UA and the Court at the same time it's just not fun anymore lately. Anyone have clarity or a way to fix this problem reasonably?

More or less we need SOMETHING we can try to build or use against a faction that can have lasting impact if successful. There's just nothing the gov can meaningfully do against a faction these days.

I have made many mistakes and broke many rules in my time on the server which I really regret and i'm sorry about. Most of my bans came from RDMing people and it ended up being the reason for me being permabanned 1 year ago, I caused harm to other players by being harsh and stupid and getting into trouble where I always ended up pulling out a shovel or a pistol. After i was permabanned I made a desperate attempt to comeback in the form of ban evading which I can't justify as it was a desperate attempt to comeback to a server I loved so much, I can only apologies and show my real change through these words, I can only ask for you to give me a chance. Why should you be unbanned? After my ban I have spent a lot of time playing on gmod, playing Dark RP servers and some SCP servers and i have been playing on servers for a good period of time and i haven't been banned by being better at roleplay, especially playing on project synapse where rp is kind of strict I was able to provide good rp to the server and make it enjoyable for me and other players, unfortunately I haven't felt the same feeling on gmod when playing those servers compared to diverge, i have a huge desire to play on this server as there is no server that can give the same quality and bring me the same joy and freedom to express myself on gmod. I also feel that I've grown as a player and especially as a person as its been a year and Im now more mature and now have real responsibility in the form of a job which has taught me how to be more patient and follow rules. Last time I made my appeal, Canadian said there wasn't a way to show that I've changed, and I feel that me making this ban appeal is me showing change, I am making this appeal because i want to comeback to this server and roleplay. As someone who ran pretty much the only successful British faction for a number of years, i'll give you my input. +1 - I think the app is pretty decent, and I wish you guys all the best. PRO - Diverse, it's great to see someone else attempt a British faction. - Play time seems alright. - I liked the backstory to a degree, although it does have some issues. CON - The breaks in the backstory are frustrating and some of them don't really add anything to the story. IMO you'd benefit from bigger time gaps, to add more text to your paragraphs. - I don't think you give enough examples of how you intend to be different from other factions. The VIP club thing is actually something we used to do weirdly lol. I'd like to hear more about your proposed business ideas, if you're steering clear of violence for a more business approach, how? you mention you want to steer clear away from standing around RP but by owning a club, you're going to end up with standing around RP. I know I and at least a few others would be interested in being GMs and doing occasional mini events but aren't interested in being staff. The obvious main advantage to this is more roleplay in a city pretty much devoid of (good) roleplay currently. Literally just make it so GMs do not need to be staff to be GM and then more creative and impromptu roleplay events can take place.

Fairly certain we had the same sort of appeal in 2024 when i accepted the perma unban. You took the second chance and threw it to the wind. I appreciate that you're keen on returning but since you've already thrown away chance(s) we gave you I have no guarantee that this time you'll actually play properly. The risk vs reward makes no sense. If you want more information as to how we can work towards an unban then make a ticket in the discord. If you're banned from the discord you'll need to figure out a way to reach us there, but for now I have no reason to accept this, or to trust you at your word.
