What is your motivation/reason for applying?: My primary motivations for this application are to become a Gamemaster, become more involved with the community, and to help out when I can. I have some free time as of late, and have a lot of nostalgia for playing Garry's Mod. It is definitely a big hobby of mine (clearly), and I want to get back into it. I used to host events and remember having fun while doing so, it was rewarding to create events for players and also enjoyable to plan them. I know that it can be frustrating waiting for assistance when making tickets, and I know I would be able to help out efficiently. Even though my time commitments aren't as great as they have been in the past, I know I would be able to make an impact in the staff team in regards to tickets. In conclusion, I want to get more involved in the community and help out. Why should you be considered over other candidates?: In my opinion, I should be considered over other candidates because of my prior experience staffing, my experience in various aspects of roleplay on the server, and my ability to remain unbiased and calm when handling user disputes. As mentioned on the next question, I have been staff twice before on Diverge so I am very familiar with both the rules, conduct, and commands relevant to staffing the server. Over the years, I have gotten adequate experience in all sectors of roleplay on Diverge, whether in a criminal faction, police, or court/legal systems. I believe this knowledge and experience would help me to solve any situations I come across while staffing. I am also capable of remaining unbiased in all sits, regardless of the players involved and can remain calm when handling user disputes. I know this is paramount to resolving situations amicably and effectively. In conclusion, I believe my past experiences and demeanor would make me a good candidate for staff. Would you say that you are well known in our community, what's your reputation, what do other members think of you?: I would say that I am well known amongst members that have a lot of playtime during when I have been around. I would hope my reputation is pleasant amongst those people. I don't want to speculate further, but I think it's fair to say I have a generally positive reputation in the community. What is your favorite moment on Diverge so far?: I have a lot of nostalgia and good memories on Diverge, I can't think of anything to single out specifically. My favorite time though would be during the Miami server, no particular moment but I had a lot of fun running a faction on there. Have any staff members recommended you? How do you handle this?: If I want to report it, either make a ticket in-game or a forum report. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: Approach them privately and discuss it. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: If there is proof either in logs or in video form then I would punish them.

we started moving stuff from callaghans after the pk of cannon which was a heavy meta game kill we decided to this as we all feared a pk for no reason in character we all also planed to stay in both faction and never fully quit callaghans if you want things to look into you can look into cannons death and the reasons around it all I'm saying there's a bigger picture

Hello banning staff here. You were part of an investigation for it which it was found you heavily middlemaned a number of high value items and transferred the majority of your own from your Callaghan character, through a proxy; sharing all of your banks with McCarthy characters, leaving them nearly empty. You took a lot of items from Cannon's original character, transferred many into #Gift or #Locker 1. You maintained direct access to a number of high value McCarthy banks which were used as deposit points. I do not see any evidence of fair market value being paid, I see April 15, the day after Cannon was PKed and the days leading up to to it. You and others simple exploited sharing banks with eachother to move stuff to McCarthy accounts. Example: #62207 (MESO P/E) and #62553 (Texas P/E) your nearly empty Callaghan banks are shared to the following permissions. With others having shared similar access for your McCarthy character. ex; #Gift (OWNER) Ethan O’Connor Eoin “Toasty” Dunlavey Niall Dunlavey Aisling McCarthy Yes it looks bad considering that it could and has hurt Callaghan, if you wanted out. This was not the approach, you can't just simply act as a group; drain all valuables from your Callaghan characters and start new civs using the resources obtained. This is character abuse. This was a concerted effort involving multiple individuals to jumpstart a new faction, throwing away your old characters in the process. With allegation involving attempting to poach members, while maintaining said characters, which could effectively sabotage said faction. Other do it isn't a viable defense, if we catch word of wrong doing and investigation yield results. We will punish accordingly.

as a lawyer and even a cop I think we should have any approved cctv for IC use to be in a lower resolution because of the time period and fairness of it all I mean I shouldn't be able to see a guy a good distance away with the resolution from the 1980's

There were a lot of ways you could have handled this situation; in my eyes, you handled it in the worst way possible. Time after time, you made bad decisions after bad decisions with the complete knowledge of what you were doing. I dont know why you are using the excuse of lost items between multiple characters, even in your apology, you are lying. There are countless examples of people who created factions without #1 leaching off a current faction and #2 breaking half the rule book to accomplish it. At the end of the day, this is a game, and I have nothing against you, but if you played by the rules like everyone else, you would be able to create a faction and you wouldn't be banned right now. There is not a single doubt in my mind that you regret what you did, just the fact that you got caught. Staff have everything they needed to make the decision, and I think 4lights did a perfect job on all accounts. It was clear from day 1 that you intended to circumvent the rules and the RP surrounding my faction to make yourself and your faction have an upper hand. Unfortunately, everyone you convinced to go with you has been PKed and banned because of what YOU wanted. I offered advice and guidance, and instead, you tried to maliciously hurt my faction. Again, I say you could have handled this situation a lot better; instead, you did the opposite and did what caused you to be banned and PKed. I don't think you should have a reduction of a ban, nor should any of your characters that are involved be unPKed. You need to learn true leadership and how to follow rules, not try and cheat the system so it benefits you. I hope you learned from this situation and maybe when you come back, you will use this as a learning experience.

I will admit my faults here, during the situation with me getting pk'd from callaghans and then again as my McCarthy character there was a lot of mixup of items getting into bank accounts that i shouldnt have had access to let alone the items from callaghans being near our characters. At this time all i cared about was bank accounts for my faction and i was doing what i thought was best even though it being very stupid, i cannot explain actions of others but mine were definitely not atonable. We were wanting to give our items to each other from callaghans since we were all leaving them, we never intended to keep our own items from callaghans and the bank accounts, like a said, shouldnt have gotten near any of us and we should had just bought our own yet we didnt. Some of the items that were believed to be mine (specifically the thomas' suit) did not belong to me and even thought these items are limited to what was and wasnt transferred it does not give justification for our actions. I deeply apologize for this mistake and like ive said before, appeal or no appeal this will not occur again. The NOI suit however i cannot explain myself as i forgot about this whole situation and all i remember was being added to a bank account that had the suit in it. (i bought the bank account from a friend using it for my crews fund when i was a right hand, this is all i recall from that situation).

Hello banning staff. We have compiled a 150+ document that links to this ban. What it has shown is you assisted in item-transfer before becoming staff. Notably an NOI suit. I believe you took the opportunity to learn how to safely transfer your items, while as staff. Exploiting information learned. You had your friends systematically empty all your old bank accounts and then shared access to those bank accounts with you and your McCarthy friends, on McCarthy characters. Your friends and you transferred large amounts of items of high value items. The day after you got Pked on April 15th, most everyone involved shows up on this day passing items between each other and into select banks. ( some even spamming lobsters to obscure logs ) These select banks typically being a Callaghan bank shared with McCarthy characters. Including a specific 'Gift' bank, which you were added to on your Cannon and your Aisling McCarthy character ( later removed ), which contained many high value items from your previous char. You were straight given other item from Callaghan characters such as your Thomas' suit. Other banks such as Locker #1, had guns originating from Callaghan characters and your dead character. Passed between characters to be put into said locker. Notable items include a Mini-14 dropped and deposited. It was also identified previous to the investigations as a "McCarthy gun bank". With information being provided including dms and screenshots. You and several others, emptied their banks of their most valued possessions into these banks. You appear to conducted a large meth for cocaine deal, a couple days before getting pked and redirected that cocaine. A few webhooks to unauthorized discords were put into these banks. Linking to people involved. The evidence shows you maintained technical possession of your items for use for your new faction and employed a systematic approach to doing so. If you wish to confess your full involvement, it may help your appeal. Otherwise please wait for another staff to respond.

I have been working for a while to start a faction so I made a discord server as an exoskeleton and to "gather" my members up for when its time to put in the application and i understood the discord server would have to be owned by Pendred. I do not know the reasoning behind the Organized Item Transfer, Character Abuse, nor Metagame. I deeply apologize for my actions and i thought it was acceptable to make a faction discord pre - application. I personally think a 2 month ban is a bit harsh especially when my clear background. Why should you be unbanned?: I have a clear record, i have never broken any rules before, and the actions i admit to i didnt realize were unacceptable. I was planning on using this summer to buildup my faction and i was going to put in the application in a week as i was working on finishing touched. I still got no context to what i got banned for, I do not have any excuses for what i may have done, I am an active member and roleplayer of the server and i would never intentionally do anything to harm it. Fair Points. I did rely heavily on some prior knowledge a lot of people may not have and I should have gone more in depth. I also agree with application is not my best and I could do it better. I plan to make some edits after work tomorrow. More of my time has been spent discussing with HC on some things we could do differently from the prior factions we have run. Each time we have wanted to do something better or different and I think this will be no different. Its a solid faction of veterans. Not necessarily RP, but a faction policy I can guarantee is that there will be no kickups. I want the faction to be friendly to the casual player and I feel like its hard to do that. We are in a unique position where we already have enough money and the only expense we would have is taxes on a property. As far as I know, no one else is doing this. We want our members to want to play in our faction not feel like they have to hit a quota. I could go in depth into all the RP scenarios as a mob that we have done and plan to do, but they dont vary too much from whats already in the server or what you already know. Ceremony of becoming made, Tests and challenges Associates are given to prove their worth, Tasks for hangrounds to do that arent just standing at a door. We know how to keep it interesting for our members and thats what we plan to do if accepted. Engagement > Money. Also I have some faction events I wrote up from when I was still staff that I could bust out if there is a GM willing to work with us on them and set up the scenes.
