It's a fundamental issue with how the game works. They can't outright act on it but if someone is wanted and they have their f3 they know which properties to look at and good luck convincing staff that's outright meta game Giving out your name shouldn't result in giving out which faction you are a part of. This applies with or without my suggestion just without it being they know which faction you are a part of via tab menu instead of in rp.

the biggest source of non actionable meta gaming in garrysmod mafia roleplay is the tab menu (FACT). I understand the implications of removing it from non staff characters but i believe the benefits ultimately outweigh the negatives. To check on your specific org instead of the regular tab menu on the business tab of your f1 menu shows the tab menu of just your faction (PD, Crim, civ, etc). thanks for reading.

yes in fact police do need to be stronger when it comes to policing and taking down criminal organizations but in turn police/judges/DAs need the fear of god aswell. Here’s my suggestion: Add back rico make it extremely difficult where you gotta run the faction like a retard for it to even be possible. (connected banks, high ranking member snitching for ic reasons, etc) Increase phone/building wiretapping by adding a physical item that can be deployed and hidden bigger legal hoops to jump through (registered business banks, proof of income, maybe an aggregate tax rate) this can also bring the possibility of tax fraud being an actual crime. tldr be a smart criminal and loose lips sink ships Government consequences for trying to take down a mafia org: Detectives/Officers/DAs that go after (arrest, warrant, etc) a caporegime or above (felony+) are pk active to the faction. DAs and Judges can now be bribed to drop charges or throw a case (10k for every year) tldr you wanna rp like your taking down the mob be prepared to fear for your life and this is america home of bribery.

i agree with more civil hoops to jump through i however disagree with what your suggesting because 1) the only people who would actually get hurt are those that dont pay irl money for their charges to disappear 2) the learning curve for starting a faction is already hard enough adding more layers makes starting a new faction next to impossible
