What is your motivation/reason for applying?: My motivation for applying for this staff position is that I really enjoy the server and the people around it. When I first joined I was introduced in a great way and many kind people. After playing for a good while now I can say that I would like to help the people of diverge out and keep people from ruining the game for others. I have been staff on other servers in the past and enjoyed it before those servers died out, so I would love to continue on the server I play now. I would love to see more people and make friends with staff members and become someone who is known around the community. Why should you be considered over other candidates?: Even though I don't think I'm better than anyone I do think I know a lot compared to some. I don't have many warns and any bans and this shows I try to abide by the rules when I can. I will do my best to enforce the rules and help players not want to quit because of people breaking the rules. Also, I can put as much time and effort needed for me to complete what I can during the week. I am free a lot of the times, so if I am needed, I can take that into account and help out where I am needed. Do you have any previous staffing experience? (Please list where, what position and how long): I was a Moderator on Atomic RP a couple of years ago for about 2 months before the server kind of fell off. Have you been banned before on any of our servers? If so, why?: I have not been banned in Diverge. (3 Notes) Would you say that you are well known in our community, what's your reputation, what do other members think of you?: I would say I'm not that well known around the community. I do think that if some people do know me that my reputation is not bad at all being I don't try to make myself hated for others to dislike me. What is your favourite moment on Diverge so far?: When I was first offered a spot in Intel operations in PD. Have any staff members recommended you? If so, list their names: No ------------------------------------------------- Problem Solving Detail step by step exactly the actions you would take. Someone RDMs and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this?: Since I have witnessed the event I would get out of my RP situation or whatever I am doing and get on my staff char and take the ticket if it was made and gather any evidence, we have of this guy rdming someone. After, doing so I would do any other tickets that are needed for me to do. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: If I see this, I will tell a higher up immediately and try to get evidence of whatever the person is doing. Waiting too long to tell someone about what he is doing could lead to that staff member abusing even more ruining things for other people. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: If I were in this situation I would take all of evidence in account and decide the decision based off of it. I will not be bias to any faction member or friend because it is not fair that they could be ruining players fun and get away with it. Length of ban: Permanent Reason for appeal (dispute/apology): Apology/burying the hatchet Why should you be unbanned? First off I want to state that I performed no extrinsic actions that broke server rules to result in myself being permanently banned from the server. I requested and was granted a permanent ban because I had grown sad and tired with circumstances that prevented me from finding any reasonable enjoyment with the server. The fact that I have a permanent ban does not mean that I was a minge or that I was unable to make an actual contribution to roleplay and thus to the community as a whole. On the contrary I'd argue that I at least contributed directly to the effects of roleplay on the server. I won't go into detail about these roleplay contributions, but I will summarize that most of these contributions were in the area of politics and law. When I first entered the server as a fresh white shirt I had no intention to pursue the political or legal roleplay that existed at the time. I did what all other white shirts did when entering the city for the first time, I farmed weed and later joined a faction. At first being in a faction was fun on some days, but also boring on others because of the grinding nature in money making that was associated with the criminal life. This type of incessant work made me realize that this type of roleplay wasn't for me so I decided to go into city politics. The roleplay was fun and rewarding since it had the nature of solving one problem after another to achieve victory. This factor along with later acquired knowledge from connections about diverge's full fledged legal system led me to take the BAR and proceed into legal roleplay. All of this background is for me to show that I fully maintained with the legal side of diverge roleplay instead of the mostly illegal side. However, I was a person who made few friends and many enemies as a result of the nature of my roleplay in the legal side. Soon enough I was pretty much a persona non grata partly because of the result of poor decisions on my part, but also partly because I never knew when to quit. I never knew when to bury the hatchet and move on to the next page within the game because I had to much pride in myself to do so. Not all of my stubbornness was based on pride, some of it was based on a legitimate concern for rectifying injustices which unfortunately resulted in the hatchet being visible for all in the community to see. However, overtime this hatchet left me little to no enjoyment in the game mode that I found a certain type of creative happiness in. This lack of enjoyment turned into sadness and anxiety which made me decide to quit diverge for good and to see if I can find a way to humble myself again and return in the future. I believe that time, especially during Christmas time, has come and I would like to demonstrate my humility by stating the following conditions that I would place on myself if unbanned: 1. I will attempt to branch out more to other aspects of roleplay other than just the legal or political side. 2. I will attempt to give back to the community by providing my legal knowledge and experience that I have obtained in an educative and formative role through informal means. 3. I will not enter the city for the first 90 days if my permanent ban is removed so that I may dedicate that time to burying the hatchet amongst the community members.
