Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDM
TroubledGhost replied to adam's topic in Suggestions
The command imo should stay as it provides coverage for when mass RDMers come through town - but if the argument is about how overused it is by staff for players etc, then thats a different story. As it stands, like Cal said, it should be the case of if you want a Comp, the person who killed you, friend or not, will HAVE to get punished. Now whether or not this happens as it should, again different story. But making some guns uncompable would make it very risky, but given how often VDMing and RDMing happens, i feel it would give more of a headache to the masses in the long run. If it comes to also negating the immediate escalation to weaponry - then like pendred suggested else where having delays in pulling guns out should make it better. Someone else suggested (i think cookies) the usage of automated /mes which would go in hard and be a great foundation for RP improvement too. All in all, keeping the command is definitely fundamental but how its used and what goes on around/before the usage of that command is even more important and should be addressed for the "overuse" of comps is just a symptom imo. -
Instead of relying on physically typing or pressing binds for "/me pats for wires, guns badges etc.." and manual/binded responses being /me has none. I propose utilising the same system cops use to check for medical injuries but for wires/badges/guns etc. The current method has potential ways of being semantically bypassing these checks despite being in possession of said items being looked for i.e "/me They find none" or people argue they havent /me looks.. in particular locations carefully which has happened in the past, but also relies on an honour system for the RP [which if used incorrectly can void RPs once they have progressed] As it stands i don't believe the wires used by cops is a physical one but one that is invented and continued in people imagination (correct me if im wrong) but should one get added would further enhance the RP as there's a physical thing to search for. But as recent suggestions are going onto 'enhancing RP' this suggestion should help. On the C menu you can have an option for "pat down" - it would begin with someone giving permission to be patted down; once accepted an out put of "[name] starts patting down [other persons name]' shows and after about a 5-10 second pat down you get a cue response of "you find nothing" or "you find a M1911"; "you find a radio, Glock 17, a wire" etc.. This further also reduces the demand and need of searching peoples inventory too - particularly during faction meetings/events etc. Now you can spice it up a bit and perhaps make it a luck thing too where sometimes perhaps the person patting down may ''over look a specific place they're patting down'' and may incorrectly output a response "has none" despite the person having a gun, for example, but may be super rare or can be influence by being in recent fights/chases. [but this can open up a can of worms where minges may just punch someone in order to shift odds eversoslighty in their favour so it would be wise to have checkers inside behind the main security ] Now of course you could break this into a thorough pat down or a quick patdown but how that's achieved would need some thought. What do yall think? Just some food for thought.

this is reverse psychology he says he wants us to -1 but in reality he knows people are gonna +1 him instead of -1

Oh also forgot to mention, we have screenshots of you guys in a group dm chat. User who it was taken from deleted the chat when asked by staff to show it.

You were participating in a mugging pipeline with 2 other people. Simply put, killem (iirc thats his steam name, I dont have the file readily available rn) was mugging a bunch of people on chars that were brand new, across multiple characters. Then, he would put the spoils into a bank account connected to you and one other person. Then, he would be added to the account on a new character and continue. This is an obvious case of you participating and benefitting from a guy using throwaway chars that have no value to mug people. Those accounts will be cleaned out of all custom items that were mugged before you return from your ban.

Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDM
Mmmm_Cookies replied to adam's topic in Suggestions
I feel like un-compabble weapons would help RP alot, it is so unbelievably easy to get a gun, especially if people know you/your voice. I could make a new char rn, with 0 dollars, and go ask for a pistol or even smg if im lucky. Even GM events could be more of a reliable source of weapons, I feel like people dont do enough GM events, because either theyre lazy or too afraid to get good rewards (having pk risks / police risks.) I mean imagine you gotta do a GM event to stock up on *good* weapons because you just lost a good handful of them to a shootout or something -

Idk i feel neutral but i lean more towards keeping the command. I can see how it can be beneficial for roleplay and it does make sense for melees to take on a more vital role (However i am not fist fighting a white shirt because they saw woman and thought funny haha punch woman i am unfortunately shooting homie in cold blood) but from my experience at least theres a majority amount of people thatll die from genuine rdm or vdm or just overall accidents and i dont feel like they should be “punished” further for that i guess. I also see the point of just dont always have a gun equipped only equip when necessary but i also don’t see a reason why i should unequip and re equip my gun a million times a day when grinding shipments and going through mugging areas. Idk if it gets removed not the end of the world but I think there should be more bans giving notes out is useless for people you know have malicious intentions. -

If every RDM or VDM based comp goes in toe with a ban then the staffing will be working as it should be, so I'd definitely say that should be the new standard Ticket makers shouldn't expect to make tickets, and ask for no punishments for whoever killed them Comp = Ban = Comp -

Hello, I am the man that mugged you, while yes you showed the place you were gunned down at, the mugging was initiated in the church cemetery in which I saw you go into alone, I pointed my Famas at you inside of the cemetery and told you to put your hands up multiple times. However, either through gumption or just pure obliviousness you just ran straight by me and refused to listen, which me shooting you abides by the mugging rules.

Could also open up some cool attachments like weapon slings or something to decrease draw time etc? I think adding more to the gunplay, especially now attachments are back, would be great. I also think gun bags should show on your back, but not class as probable cause for a search by police Otherwise you can be interacting with a guy who has a whole AK stuffed in his trouser pockets, as far as you're aware

lets go back to that man, the progress wheel would be nice

Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDM
JJ_ replied to adam's topic in Suggestions
i mentioned this in staff chat but i’ll say it here as well for the masses, i feel as if that if weapons become uncompable, escalation would be more likely to gradually escalate, opposed to people jumping to shooting instantly. melees would be a much more viable option. would lead to better roleplay and better escalation (day to day and even large scale faction escalations) in my general opinion like 85% of the day to day escalations that happen in the street could be handled without the use of a firearm; it’s simply unrealistic for people to instantly jump to shooting. -
on cool old server we had two features that helped combat this: - when you switched to a gun in your weapon wheel it would start on safety and depending on the type of gun (big rifles had longer timer), it had a short delay on how quickly you could unsafety it, to mimic the time it would take to actually grab it and raise it - progress bar on equipping/unequipping weapons in inventory (a few seconds) if you guys put aside your own subjective opinions, features like these despite seemingly small would absolutely go a long way in increasing RP quality. It would force people into enhancing interactions, instead of resorting to taking someones head off if they look at you funny. Always been an advocate for this, and so should you all.

just make it a requirement to do /me pulls out x gun forces players to roleplay (impossible for some)

Hey guys adding onto Adam’s stuff with the removal of the comp command like we are actively arguing and going at eachother (staff) rn its crazy. I think there could be a new system in how guns work, pendred stated 90% of comps or something are due to people having weapons equipped ALL the time, and that is true, I mean I have a skorpion equipped at all times too, I’m guilty. Theres not a-lot RP wise you can go off of with equipping/unequipping weapons however. I think we should add /me’s for equipping a weapon, you aren’t allowed to go off the sound of a weapon being equipped in an RP sense (if I remember that correctly) and something like /me moves a 1911 into the waistband of my pants or something similar could really help in some cases like imagine you’re arguing with a guy, you see he equips a gun, and you really gotta think “is it worth it continuing with this, do I wanna take the risk of also equipping my firearm” (that maybe wont get comped) As it stands now, pulling a firearm is so incredibly easy, and most guns (that aren’t rifles) have near-instant fire times if they aren’t on safety, could make muggings, hits, shooting in self defense or escalation, firing at police, more of a calculated thing, and with the addition of a /me you could react in an IC fashion. If I think I’m about to die because a faction has a hit on me, and I hear someone equip a gun so I kill him, it’s RDM. If I *see* him equip it however… maybe not.
