I like to make connections. What is your favourite moment on Diverge so far?: Getting to finally permakill somebody while in a crime faction. We stripped down to whiteclothes and ran him down when we saw them. Shit was so thrilling. I also like making hundreds of thousands of dollars for crime factions. Have any staff members recommended you? If so, list their names: ------------------------------------------------- Problem Solving Detail step by step exactly the actions you would take. Someone RDMs and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this?: I would head on duty and await them to be reported. Should a report be made I would hop on my staff character and claim the ticket. I would first bring the alleged victim and ask for a clip while checking logs. I would then pull in the accused if its proven to be RDM. I would check their notes, and if they had prior RDM notes that are recent within a month or so I would punish that player for RDM. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: I would report it to Upper Administration, such as a Senior Administrator or a Superadmin. I would document in detail the violations of the staff member and compile a list of videos, screenshots, testimonies and so forth. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: Bias would exist and I would staff chat in that another member needs to take the ticket. If no other staff are on I would mediate it as unbiased as possible. If there is sufficient proof, there may be a NITRP ban as a possibility. If there is no proof I would tell the accuser to get evidence next time or don't make a ticket. ---------------------------------------------------------

First time i ever agree with this guy, the whole idea of rico is being able to charge people who have not committed crimes for being affiliated... which we all pretty much are, the opportunity for power/metagame is just so great that it would be silly to bring it back in any light. Detectives have the power to take factions down that do silly things and have done so before, facilitating their jobs is kinda silly.

I like the idea of RICO in theory but as others have stated, I don't think it really works in practice. The only way I can really see it working, without it being massively OP would be to have FBI (or just a branch of the PD) that are for creating task forces which attempt to get IC information to establish the hierarchy of the mob they're tasked to, so that the information can be used in court cases. Implementing an entire RICO system would kill the mafia RP. Do agree that factions have gotten really safe in terms of big crackdowns from PD. When I was running my faction, I always played in a 'actions have consequences' and would often RP that the police could wipe out the whole faction, even if they realistically couldn't. TLDR: More factions and PD need to RP.

Generally being arrested is one's own fault like yeah UC's can be fatal tho but how much do you truly think that's happening I could understand that. I wasn't at it particularly long as Don but that shit did legitimately fucking suck. Lotta moving parts. More or less if you have yourself air gapped as far as the business and properties go legally it would be hard to attack them. Even more so if the on paper owner is a legit char kinda like how Lucchese does it putting their stuff on Vincent. That's an example of difficult to catch by RICO. A case like that might only go from middle down at best with how they're arranged and even then it would still be a LONG and tedious investigation.

i agree with more civil hoops to jump through i however disagree with what your suggesting because 1) the only people who would actually get hurt are those that dont pay irl money for their charges to disappear 2) the learning curve for starting a faction is already hard enough adding more layers makes starting a new faction next to impossible

"General direction" of the police and at the police are two different things. I remember distinctly shooting in the air. This as such did not start a "violent confrontation". I never once shot an officer nor shot at a officer. you also claim quote "general direction" when the shot was no placed at an officer or even a building but straight in the sky.

The difference is these factions take fresh players and dump em in the wild with little to no training or rp. That or the new hires go straight into the racket without permission which in itself is kinda goofy and alr leaves factions open to a world of shit. If you read thru everything, you'd have seen the part that explicitly prevents that abuse by simply restricting your rackets. And that goes doubly for the gun racket factions. Giving leadership the ability to police their shit is valuable. RICO doesn't kick in with one single person the investigations are long and complex. You'd need to identify everyone from the middle up definitively which is a challenge in itself. Then proving that they are the direct beneficiaries of crimes that are either arranged by them or on their behalf by others. You'd need to prove past, present, and future crimes. The bar is insanely high and even moreso when you factor in safeguards meant to prevent it's abuse. Even as it stands right now you can't snitch on a faction without UA halting things to check on shit. In the last week I've already seen a law get retconned because I was gonna blow a faction up with it which granted it was a little OP as it was written. Shit actively has UA involved in it as it is. The FBI bit wouldn't be mega cop with tanks and helicopters that shit would still be deferred to on ESU most likely in an ideal model. Pretty much this just lines up factions that don't take the time to teach their new and old people operational security.

If you begin to forensically analyze a body (pressing E) and then it is deleted or otherwise removed, all of your inputs will be disabled. This includes movement and mouse buttons, but not the scroll wheel and esc/console keys. It does, however, seem to carry over to the console even if you leave the server by disabling the backspace key in the console (even on main menu screen), and the menu itself is unreachable behind the console window. All you can do is type quit.
