I think we need to rethink how faction escalations work. Right now, faction RP feels stale, conflict is rare, and High Commands are frustrated. The larger factions that make up much of the player base rarely get action outside of racket events, which only happen every six months. All year it has only been shitty factions doing their meaningless civil wars. I believe a big reason for this is that escalations are treated as something that always lead to a war. Most factions dont want to go to war over minor disrespect, but they still want to be able to retaliate without risking being cooked for fail escalation. I think we need a middle ground between doing nothing and starting a war- My suggestion is to allow minor escalations with valid clips and approval from a regular admin, without requiring an active UA approved war. Examples could include property tagging or trashing, targeted muggings, and potentially firebombings, all with clear restrictions. Offenses can be: Verbal Disrespect, Physical Disrespect, Muggings, Threats, ect. With clips of said offenses admins can approve the next step of escalations. -Getting kicked out of a restaurant can cause that restaurant to get trashed. -Verbal disrespect depending on the severity can cause a group beat down. -Physical disrespect can cause a targeted mugging. -Failed sit downs can cause fire bombings that wont cost the faction millions of dollars, or raids that don’t cause PKs. Small beefs involving property taggings or trashings can move to failed sit downs that can lead to medium escalations (fire bomb, raiding, ect.) After these conflicts occur and play out whether ending in pending sit downs, or shoot outs leaving people hospitalized the factions are not to engage for a set amount of time. Retaliation windows can only be open for so long. To prevent abuse, these escalations should require evidence, have clearly defined limits, and be logged so staff can identify patterns and determine when a larger conflict is justified. This keeps staff involved without requiring UA to handle every minor dispute. The goal is: let factions have beef, let them respond to it, and let RP develop naturally. We need more opportunities for fun and engaging faction conflicts that do not need to result in war. I am sure there is holes in my thinking and ways people will abuse that need to be covered but I just think a change is needed and would be great to see for everyone<3

What server rule or PK rule was violated?: The reasons why I should be unpked on this char. Reason 1. The last hit I went on was on 10/13/26 Yugi can confirm this. then the last one was on the 8th. No where in any time was I told "Hey don't do pks anymore as consig" the current don never seem to have a problem with this at all until now? which is 7 days after the hits took place. I was never taxed or warned about doing hits. The last time I spoke to the current don about doing hits was when he was asking who I was pking and never said anything about stop doing pks or have someone else do it. this is the last hit I was fully apart of. You could argue about a pk that happen on the 14th that I didn't have to much involvement in however 2 enforcers had to kill an AFK player in the middle of Sarge's Arms and i dipped out as fast as possible. The involvement in that pk was me giving out the orders and putting curtains up in the doorway of sarges. also ironic they contract a consig to kill their consig who told them about the coup i was "plotting". The guy who killed me also has an alt char has done PKs for Colombos on and now is doing hits both on his Colombo and decav char for Colombos? Also they want me to mug but not PK people???? Reason 2. Another reason why I was told was that I got pked was because the current don was being shizo about me trying to coup him when I never talked about couping him and no one else was listed on the coup list but me? I had no intent to coup and for the past week I barely been on diverge due to being busy with irl work and playing other games. the UB, SB, Capo, HE were all loyal to the current don and at the time I was so where could I have coup if I wanted to? from what I been told the only reason why I was pked was due to the current Colombo don thinking I'm going to coup him and the reasons listed on the orders were a loophole to kill me and have valid orders cause they didn't have proof of something that wasn't going to happen. the way it seems the reason why I was killed because lucky wanted chairman and instead of going to the other dons and going through the proper steps of having a revote for chairman, he just chose to kill me instead, which caused many other Colombo high command to retire right after I was killed. It states in the pk guildlines that you must give warning to people. You can't just simply kill someone for mucking up one time. (yes i did more than one hit) but i was never warned not to or wasn't told to stop therefore the orders above should be denied due to never was talked to about breaking that rule. I agree there needs to be some kind of middle ground, but in order for that to happen people need to rp properly. Most of the motives for conflicts I've seen have just been escalated ooc. 1) There needs to be a form where people rp properly, and don't just beef for no reason, or escalate out of proportion. Made guys walking out on a bill ≠ Target mugging and tagging. This would be a verbal dispute, which in most cases should end in a big grumble where the made guys cough up the money. AND THEN THE SITUATION ISNT BROUGHT UP AGAIN UNLESS A SIMILAR ISSUE IS REPEATED.(Problem here on both ends in this server. 1. the restaurant owners instead of pressing and starting a confrontation, let them walk out and harbor the interaction for later escalation instead of handling it in rp. 2. If party 1 interacts, The made guys initially in the wrong don't correct their actions by coughing up the money. Instead just walk off and ignore the interaction.) This is just one example, but could be applied to many others. -Implementing easier escalation promotes overlooking small rp and just escalating when not needed. 2) Metagaming is sadly something that needs to be considered. UAs place in escalation is for a reason, as people do just overreact, using a mix of the first problem as well as metagaming. Ex. Someone says something questionable, that under normal circumstances you would just correct and have a quick apology. BUT the person who made the comment has had interactions either ooc or on a different character with the person who was the subject of the offense. This makes the whole interaction even more escalated and out of proportions. -This is also something that is taken on whole faction levels. Prior leadership leaving the faction in poor standing, and instead of people larping and jumping at the fact to make a district or gain political power over another faction keep stomping the faction down due to prior interaction. (This can also be flipped, and factions who are in a very vulnerable position refuse help and rp just to stroke their own cocks. I won't name names.) 3) While letting admins handle it would create more flexibility, it would also just produce a lot more tickets which inevitably UA would need to handle. And then it would be even more frustrating if UA decided that the escalation wasn't just and the whole situation needed to be voided. Similar to PKs, admins make mistakes and thankfully that's easy as unpking. Voiding whole rp situations is way more difficult because those feelings don't just go away. -I do think however, UA needs to be a bit more lax on some of the escalations. If someone refuses a sitdown, the sitdown shouldn't be questioned. IRL if you were asked to a sitdown, even if the reason was shit you still went. And not showing up was a big deal, even if the reason was dumb. TLDR(foid babble summary) 1) Larp currently isn't proper enough for this to be implemented at the level you suggest. 2) Metagaming is a huge problem in this. (Big feelings ooc are hard to handle, but they should not be brought IC) 3) Finding a way for staff to handle this smoothly would be hell. It's a huge +1 from me, but seeing how UA would would make it all work would be very interesting. The guy would be weird to me in discord talking about porn games and trying to make me have weird convos with him in discord and calls. I kept telling him I don't want to talk about that stuff with him and focus on the game for hires and money. During one of those call I was in the family call talking to other people when he joins and being weird while others are in the call talking about being a femboy and offering pics about feet and his ass to others. After a while of this he comes at me about why people in the city know that he like this and I shit talk about he says with others there as witness he explodes attacking me and Walnuts in Gambino calls and never talked to us again but turns out he tells smokes half a story and gets me killed because I didn't want to be weird back. This is a risk you accept when joining a faction, if however you re telling the truth when it comes to an OOC Motive. Please gather all of your evidence for when UA Reach out to you.
