Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDMcalink replied to adam's topic in Suggestions If every RDM or VDM based comp goes in toe with a ban then the staffing will be working as it should be, so I'd definitely say that should be the new standard Ticket makers shouldn't expect to make tickets, and ask for no punishments for whoever killed them Comp = Ban = Comp

Hello, I am the man that mugged you, while yes you showed the place you were gunned down at, the mugging was initiated in the church cemetery in which I saw you go into alone, I pointed my Famas at you inside of the cemetery and told you to put your hands up multiple times. However, either through gumption or just pure obliviousness you just ran straight by me and refused to listen, which me shooting you abides by the mugging rules.

Could also open up some cool attachments like weapon slings or something to decrease draw time etc? I think adding more to the gunplay, especially now attachments are back, would be great. I also think gun bags should show on your back, but not class as probable cause for a search by police Otherwise you can be interacting with a guy who has a whole AK stuffed in his trouser pockets, as far as you're aware

lets go back to that man, the progress wheel would be nice

Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDMJJ_ replied to adam's topic in Suggestions i mentioned this in staff chat but i’ll say it here as well for the masses, i feel as if that if weapons become uncompable, escalation would be more likely to gradually escalate, opposed to people jumping to shooting instantly. melees would be a much more viable option. would lead to better roleplay and better escalation (day to day and even large scale faction escalations) in my general opinion like 85% of the day to day escalations that happen in the street could be handled without the use of a firearm; it’s simply unrealistic for people to instantly jump to shooting.

on cool old server we had two features that helped combat this: - when you switched to a gun in your weapon wheel it would start on safety and depending on the type of gun (big rifles had longer timer), it had a short delay on how quickly you could unsafety it, to mimic the time it would take to actually grab it and raise it - progress bar on equipping/unequipping weapons in inventory (a few seconds) if you guys put aside your own subjective opinions, features like these despite seemingly small would absolutely go a long way in increasing RP quality. It would force people into enhancing interactions, instead of resorting to taking someones head off if they look at you funny. Always been an advocate for this, and so should you all.

just make it a requirement to do /me pulls out x gun forces players to roleplay (impossible for some)

Hey guys adding onto Adam’s stuff with the removal of the comp command like we are actively arguing and going at eachother (staff) rn its crazy. I think there could be a new system in how guns work, pendred stated 90% of comps or something are due to people having weapons equipped ALL the time, and that is true, I mean I have a skorpion equipped at all times too, I’m guilty. Theres not a-lot RP wise you can go off of with equipping/unequipping weapons however. I think we should add /me’s for equipping a weapon, you aren’t allowed to go off the sound of a weapon being equipped in an RP sense (if I remember that correctly) and something like /me moves a 1911 into the waistband of my pants or something similar could really help in some cases like imagine you’re arguing with a guy, you see he equips a gun, and you really gotta think “is it worth it continuing with this, do I wanna take the risk of also equipping my firearm” (that maybe wont get comped) As it stands now, pulling a firearm is so incredibly easy, and most guns (that aren’t rifles) have near-instant fire times if they aren’t on safety, could make muggings, hits, shooting in self defense or escalation, firing at police, more of a calculated thing, and with the addition of a /me you could react in an IC fashion. If I think I’m about to die because a faction has a hit on me, and I hear someone equip a gun so I kill him, it’s RDM. If I *see* him equip it however… maybe not.

Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDMcalink replied to adam's topic in Suggestions If you are a staff member and you comp every ticket you get you should not be a staff member The best immediate answer is staff training and punishments for staff who are too lazy to investigate tickets fully- including not noting perps of rulebreaks

Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDMMmmm_Cookies replied to adam's topic in Suggestions Idk man Adam used to be a super, and UA, he’s got ball knowledge. It does state in the staff handbook we’re not required to comp at all even for RDM or VDM, unless its something completely out of control like a server bug, weapon comps are staff discretion. I should stop comping people just so theyre more careful
-
oh man, what if these hitmen guys also enforced faction stuff and rules, maybe they could be called enforcers or something

Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDMcalink replied to adam's topic in Suggestions Yeah no one is getting comped for failing a gun fight, or RP escalation, I have literally never seen a ticket that suggests someone's tried to either This suggestion also doesn't consider actual RDM or VDM at all It's not whether you should 'consider the weight of drawing your weapon' when you get ran over from behind at mach speed by a random white shirt You're locked in on the specific instance of RDM baiting, that's not enough grounds to remove a system that is 99% of the time used for completely different scenarios -1 Terrible suggestion

Removal of the comp command, and harsher punishments for RDMbigwillyhumper69 replied to adam's topic in Suggestions maybe we should start with stricter punishments on staff abuse first

I thought it would be cool and much more "Mafioso", that in each crime family, street gang has an hitman who is sent by the Don and faction's superiors to kill the target, such as someone who has betrayed the agreements or someone from the enemy family or anyone who makes mistakes. But rightly the hitman must be given various information and must be sent ONLY FOR VALID REASONS.

I think removing the comp command could be a great start to improving roleplay, as right now it's just hope the other person engages first so you can blast their head off. With the removal of the command, it'll enforce staff to actually verify the outcome of the situation, instead of just a blanket "yeah i'll comp and return you" as 99.9% of RDM tickets are people just wanting their gun back. With this change, players will be more careful with drawing a firearm, as there's actual consequence to losing it if you die, compared to just "oh ill make a ticket!". This will increase melee weapon usage, and make RDM baiting (a real problem for some moderators to figure out somehow) much harder.

-1 not bad a thought, but imo fighting shouldn't be well practiced. you're either seasoned or you're not; that should be your character. no trying to practice bhopping, strafing, and ADADADAD spamming trying to matrix hop over bullets with a movement-damage weapon build based entirely off numbers and meta that you've practiced for hours on end. if its worth that much to you, buy what you need IC and practice that way

Maybe an addition i'd put on this suggestion would be fixed contract template items, rather than google docs like the typewriter uses For example, in City Hall there is a legal supplies vendor who sells contract templates, they could be: Sale/Purchase Agreement Lawyer Contract or probably a few other options- Then they are a nice IC template of a contract with places left out for Item Category/Money Amount etc. and then at the bottom Name and Signature of each party (auto filled via your char id upon signing) These can then be used via factions IC-ly to enforce missed fees for Lawyers, or missed payments on custom clothing or guns, and have a purpose in PK sits Could also be used in other Legal RP scenarios for things like Oil Coupons, Police ticketing, Fines, Bills at restaurants even I think it'd be cool, the more Diverge interactions that can be pulled away from a Google Docs tab the better imo
