Hi Whilst it appears the other players involved in this interaction had similarly committed rule breaks, I do believe that there is a degree of responsibility for multiple of these events that lies on your NLR. As a cop, you can return to scene if specific circumstances are met, and you are called in as back up, etc. but your initial return to the ghetto is not necessary and does break the NLR rules. I also believe that running the other guy over and then executing him was a mistake and not how you should have handled the situation. It seems more like you held a grudge after your previous encounters. Regardless - In this instance I'm happy to reduce your ban to 12 hours, as it is your first offense and the other players involved clearly have some guilt in the matter. I also appreciate the detail put in to your ban appeal, and the opinion of the banning mod.

Hi, Banning Moderator here, We did in fact talk and i would like to say, LTAP would be the only thing i believe should be removed. While there was just under 2 minutes in between you killing him and disconnecting from the server i cannot confidently say that was intentional. I believe NLR should stay because yes the first altercation where he shot you was in PD parking lot, But, when you got in your car and ran him over it was on the sidewalk / street by right outside of PD parking lot BUT i believe the reason this qualifies for NLR is instead of just going another way or avoiding the man, you intentionally swerved into him and shot him while he was down. After reviewing logs once more I can confidently say the man who ran you over previously, was not the same person who shot you. The man who shot you was a totally random dude and was banned for MRDM. Another thing we discussed is you said he was chasing an officer and you thought he was gonna kill him, you just died so you cant ICly remember 15 minutes prior to your death. (So you dont ICly know he has a gun in his pocket) Upon reviewing the clips provided by the victim he was a very good distance away from the officer and had no gun out at all. you intentionally swerved into him and hopped out and shot him while he was on the ground. I will add the links to the clips to the ban shortly. I would agree that shortening the length would be the correct course of action because i cannot confidently say you LTAPed. I should be unbanned because the entire situation was kind of dumb, but still my fault. Basically I was responding to a crime scene call at the ghetto because they needed someone with a camera to photograph a grow op. Anyways im pulling into the ghetto from the alleyway and some guys in a stolen cop car start ramming my car. I get out and ask them very nicely to move, which they showed their extreme gratitude by running me over repeatedly until I died. Anyways so I get my gear and I drive back and I photograph the scene and as we're taking our grow op suspect into custody he shows back up in the same stolen cop car and runs me over again repeatedly. When i got up I managed to get a good 3 headshots in (which he ate the first 2 but went down on the third) and yeah he died at ghetto. We transported the guy to PD where the same guy in the stolen cop car happens to be standing at the front entrance waiting for us. We take our guy out and start walking inside when he kills all 3 of us and frees our suspect. He runs away from PD but comes back when im pulling out of the garage so I ran him over and shot him because I thought he was trying to kill a cop he was running after. Yeah so anyways I kill him and I drive around town for a couple of minutes then I get off (keep in mind its 11 in the morning and the servers basically dead at 11 on a friday morning.) I feel like it would be within reason to lift or at least shorten the ban significantly because it frankly was not that big of a deal. The other dude was just minging and being stupid and I matched his stupidity (which he then had the audacity to call a mod like what??) The other guy was banned for the same length of time I was for MVDM and NLR. I should be unbanned because I'll be the first to admit that what I did wasn't right in regard to the rules and I shouldve been more mindful of that. I've already built myself a pretty stable career on this server as both a cop and a lawyer and frankly I just let my temporary emotions get to me this one time and it costs me that (rightfully so.) Im not gonna try and argue taht what I did was right by the rules because it frankly wasn't and theres no way to really argue it was. But yeah overall I was just being an asshole while trying to match the other guys stupidity and I realize I shouldn't have done that, and I will apologize and take full accountability for that. I actually got the opportunity to talk to the mod through discord regarding my ban and he was super reasonable and nice about it. I would definitely like to commend GALAXY, he handled the situation pretty well and he was fair with it. Although I do think that maybe my ban should be lifted because this was really just a one time thing and I wont let it happen again, it was petty of me and I realize that now. The most obvious part of this is being a street gang, I think its vital to the server to have differing variety in factions with differing structures, ideals, end goals. I think the main problem is that all the factions have the same goal currently, make a ton of money and advance their racket. The goal of this faction is to act as an alternative from the rest, We do not intend to make a profit or achieve a high end racket. We simply want to provide realistic street gang roleplay without the pressure of constantly processing. With that being said, taking things by violence and domination is the centerpiece of a street gang. Obviously rampant violence and robberies have a negative connotation on the server and is closely tied to mingy behavior. In which we plan to counter this belief by making this a hard faction to join and be extremely picky about who to let in. The faction will not be tailored around a typical crime family structure but rather a crew structure to reflect the reality of a street gang. It will not be a big faction by any means and I can say that confidently now instead of sugarcoating it, I want this to be a niche group of quality role-players that set an example of how to be selective with members and etc. The most controversial part of this faction which I think will be unpopular but I think is worth the experiment, I intend on making people apply to join this faction, I want to really dig out the minges and bad larpers associated with a street gang. The application process would compose of something like a character backstory, providing RP examples, and obviously asking them what they bring to the table RP wise. The application inherently is completely OOC but I feel like it will get a good grasp on mingy behavior and I think my track record goes to show my stance on minges and poor RPers Provide examples or event ideas to promote activity within your faction and keep people interested. (Reference your unique RP from the question above): I am not going to sugarcoat this either and make up nonsense event ideas I'm never going to do, but I can guarantee that we will have power vacuums to keep things interesting and make sure people are not emotionally attached to their gmod items, especially as a street gang member. The best way to keep people interested is to keep them on their toes, even though the vacuum is fabricated to a degree, you still have the risk of losing your character which all people accept is going to happen especially when they join a faction. These dynamics can lead to fun situations between juggling external and internal affairs where we all have fun which is the point of the faction. Also as aforementioned, the exclusivity of the faction is a big selling point for the faction and should motivate people to be good at RP and what they do to hold their spot which is critical in retention. This application is shorter than most because I will not fill an application with false promises for approval, these are the intentions and how we will convey them.
