I barely play and I'm too lazy to look into it, so take this with a grain of salt, but I always assumed ghetto apartments were government owned (the projects). IF it is government owned, then police would be able to generally patrol the lobby/hallway without a warrant Google search says: 1. " New York is in the 2nd Circuit, which follows the majority rule: tenants (and the public) do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in unlocked or openly accessible common areas like lobbies, hallways, or stairwells. Courts treat these as shared spaces where police can patrol, respond to calls, or enforce trespass rules. NYPD does this routinely in public housing under community-policing agreements and “Clean Halls”-style programs (though some aspects have faced lawsuits, basic entry into common areas is lawful)." 2. " A vacant unit in NYCHA property has no active tenant asserting Fourth Amendment privacy rights. It is government-owned property under the direct control of the housing authority. " 3. " reports document NYCHA having ~6,740 vacant units, many left unsecured with generic “move-out” keys that open every vacant apartment in a development. NYPD and DOI inspectors enter these units to remove unauthorized occupants, resulting in hundreds of arrests for trespassing, drugs, and weapons. They treat vacant units as areas they are authorized to secure and inspect. " 4. " If the door is unlocked (or unowned and therefore not secured by a tenant’s lock), officers can simply open it. No warrant is required because it is not someone’s “home” at that moment — it’s PHA property being managed to prevent crime." As for why police aren't treating other apartment buildings the same, the answer would be because those apartments are privately owned. The apartment and vacant rooms belong to the owner/faction, not the government. Police would need the owner's consent, a warrant or exigent circumstances to enter. ^ someone correct me if I'm wrong on Ghetto being government property.

Why arent other apartment buildings being searched like this? The ghetto should be treated like private property with an unknown owner.

Can we continue the debate here?

would just cause problems with people not being heard, and massively ruin the immersion, also it's kinda gay to mute someone, don't be a wimp
-
While I personally like the idea of this being put in place, it's a roleplay server and no matter if someone is annoying or not you can roleplay it out. Plus I can't wait to see the situations where someone knowing they are muted abuses the mute system, by following you. Holding you under FearRp knowing you can't hear them, and inevitably pking you just because you chose to mute them. However I do love the idea of a volume slider if it's possible to implement that feature.

Being a dick just because people disagree won't get your suggestion approved At the end of the day if the door is owned OFFICERS Shouldn't be entering that room, they only enter unowned rooms in the ghetto, the only time owned rooms are entered is either an IC issue or with probable cause. Just because you leave a door unlocked with drug processors doesn't mean it should be a zone where RP can't take place
-
+1 Also would be nice to have a volume controller per person, some people's mics are way too loud and others I can barely hear
-
Waffels is never heard again
-
please i beg you, add a mute button to the c menu. A way to mute one individual person, lets say one guys super annoying and you dont want to hear him or even a micspammer when no staff is on.

You should need to be over 18 to post here, your opinion has been discarded... "Bullets is way more qualified than most of these mods"...

I kinda get what he means theres no true civillian crime RP or non faction criminal buisness in general and ghetto holds a big key around that ghetto provides as grounds to let civillian chars or hell even new factions that dont have the best properties or situation to grow drugs/manufacture drugs etc but its been seen many many times police will do walk throughs the ghetto which inherently isnt an issue its the fact of how cops enter rooms unlocked and owned/unknowned like they own the place when realistically this would not happen but at the same time this is an IC issue this isnt necessarily a rule breaking thing but at the same time no one is gonna report these cops nor have the backing the police does in court versus some random white shirt who got fucked etc etc (im not a law/cop main so i wont say too much im sure a gov main can answer this better) it kinda plays into what i see mentioned by people in regards of how cops can just fuck anyone over anytime with very little repercussion versus crime mains who have a massive risk of PKs/life sentencing/permanent issues & generally getting the worse out of the situation because people dont care about legitimacy or their characters facing minimal reprecussions (oh no IA report!!!!) but once again it all ends up being an IC thing ultimately so this is just a can of worms as said above you cant be like "Errmm not an RP zone cant arrest me!!!" maybe you can set up a legal representative team for the lower people of the city and fight against police corruption etc blah blah blah just larp it out basically
