Tl;Dr i asked if you wanted a lawyer and you said yes but you needed to leave. I asked for your discord ID and you refused to give it. I had all the evidence i needed to proceed to court all I needed was your discord. You had plenty of time to hurl insults but none for a lawyer or to give a discord ID. Weird.

The issues you are complaining about is a result of the competition that is bred through these racket events. The governing idea is that whoever gets the most points wins, but how do you get these points? You take risks... If you want to have the best racket and beat the others, then you need to take the greatest risks and plan accordingly; this includes suffering from legal consequences. Accounting for the risks in your planning adds to the depth of the event, which was touched upon by others. Not to mention, there was not really more than 10 PD on for most of the event in small groups of twos or threes. As someone on their police character throughout the event, we largely ignored minor crimes because there were people being capped in the streets with restricted weapons. We had to pick what we engaged with and what we fell back from, which meant more than half of the crimes that we witnessed went unpunished. We were also completely surrounded in most instances, which meant that it was really easy for your friends to dispatch the officer trying to make an arrest. Again, another risk that adds to the depth of the event. Basically, what I'm saying is that having the police around--with the same rules as the last event--makes it much more than a team deathmatch. And anyway, why should someone running around with coke and guns on their backs while shooting people be let off easy because its an event?

I was then told I was not free to leave, and RP was initiated. To avoid any LTARP violation and because I value my character’s life, I fully complied with all instructions. Officers searched the property and found illegal plants in the basement. Following this discovery, I was detained and fingerprinted. After running my prints, they confirmed that my fingerprints were not on the doors connected to the grow operation. After confirming there was no fingerprint evidence tying me to the plants, they attempted to have me sign off on the charges. I did not accept or sign any charges. At no point was I provided a lawyer, despite being told one would be provided if I did not have one. I was also not given an opportunity to contact one myself. No formal conviction or completed legal process occurred. By this time, the situation had been ongoing for nearly 30 minutes. I had already mentioned I needed to log off due to it being late. To ensure transparency and avoid any rule violations, I created a staff ticket explaining that the situation had lasted over 20 minutes and that I needed to log off. I apologized in the ticket before disconnecting. Despite No fingerprint evidence linking me to the illegal plants No signed or accepted charges No legal counsel provided No formal conviction My character was permanently killed I believe the PK did not meet the evidentiary or due process standards required for a permanent kill. I cant speak for all cops but as a cop main the majority of arrest I make are complete retards who think they are criminal masterminds, wondering why they have 5 felonies. Use that information at will

I get where you’re coming from, and I agree that the racket events are one of the most active and exciting events we get all year. But I honestly think part of what made it so intense and fun was the actual risk involved, like getting a felony and/or getting a pk. It forced factions to plan smarter and actually think through their hits instead of just treating it like a 3 day free-for-all. There also wasn't an insane number of cops on, and those who were out were being pretty tame because they would typically have to confront people in large groups (I watched several just outright get smoked). Deacon on the roof was a bit much, but it did make it more fun. It added another layer to account for, such as sightlines, which drove engagement from those participating. Can certainly see some areas where more structure is needed, though. TDLR: Risks made it more fun, but there is always room for improvement.

give me your location i have a warrant On a serious note, the only ones copping a fuckton of charges were usually the ones carrying drugs and guns they shouldnt have had (ie felons or non-licensed). Have baggies of coke on you? Yeah thats a felony lol. Class 4's? Yeah that's a felony (surprising amount of molotovs during the event btw). I can maybe understand Deacon being on a rooftop with a sniper that shit might actually be a little gay that should get nerfed. But that's the thing if youre gonna do crime, you gotta shoot and scoot. We can't arrest a whole crowd nor can we kill the whole crowd. Personally I mostly stayed at the PD to do forensics since there were so many arrests. I think out of the whole thing, an arrest I personally did that led to a PK was about 2. There were others where I explained the relevant charges but really outside of that not a whole lot of people were being pked that I saw.

As someone who mained cop throughout the whole racket war there was maybe 3 PEOPLE total that wanted to stack felony charges on people, the vast majority of us including me were letting people off with unlawful discharge and unlawful open carry (2 misdemeanors) the only people that got MASSIVE charges were people that were carrying class 4s around specifically molotovs (which was retarded) as long as you weren't being a retard and carrying a class 4 you got out within 10 minutes (unless arrested by rick o'shea)

Let me just say this straight up! Racket event is the best time in the city. Period. For anyone confused on what a racket even is, it is the drug your faction unlocks and shares across your whole family. That is months of work sometimes. You start at garbage tier like qualuades, then move up to lsd, then meth, then heroin, then weed, and coke sitting at the top. That climb is the grind. That is the reward. When the racket event hits, it is not random chaos. It is factions fighting for progression. It is organization, numbers, strategy, loyalty. It is one of the only times the entire server feels alive at once. And that is exactly why PD involvement needs structure. First point, PKs Permanent kills during a racket event should be extremely controlled. If you kill a cop on ground level and that same cop gets you back in the same engagement, fine. That makes sense. That is direct action, direct consequence. What does not make sense is rooftop overwatch turning the event into a shooting gallery. We should not have Deacon Whitestone playing American Sniper from a building three blocks away wiping entire pushes. That is not RP. That is not balanced. That is not what the event is about. There should also be off limits zones for PD during racket events. for example Tunnels. Sewers. Certain interior locations on private properties. These areas should be faction war space. Let us fight each other. That is the whole point. Second point, felony charges I get it. Cops love their felons. They love stacking charges. They love the paperwork RP. Cool. You have 300 plus days out of the year to do that. Racket event lasts three days. Three. For those three days, felonies should be suspended or heavily limited. The amount of work the staff team puts into organizing this event is insane. The RP setups, the planned hits, the coordination. Just for it to get nullified because someone got hit with five felonies and sat in a cell while their whole faction fights. That kills momentum. It kills morale. It kills the event. This is not about removing PD completely. This is about understanding that the event is bigger than normal patrol gameplay. Let the factions cook. Third point, jail time scaling Nobody should be sitting for 49 minutes in the middle of a once in a blue moon racket war. That is absurd. Cap it. Tier 1 five minutes Lower level crimes. Failure to comply. Simple possession of a firearm with no discharge. Technical felon in possession with no violence. Tier 2 ten minutes Discharging a weapon. Failure to comply while armed. More aggressive behavior but no confirmed kills. Tier 3 fifteen minutes Actual killings in city. Heavy drug possession during the event. Extra weapon attachments. The worst of the worst during the three day window. Fifteen minutes max. In RP that is fifteen years. That is enough. The goal is not to make crime free paradise. The goal is to keep the event flowing. If someone gets grabbed, they do short time and get back to their faction. The war continues. The grind continues. Racket event is about progression. It is about factions earning better product. It is about activity and numbers and pride. Do not let over policing turn the best event on the server into a jail simulator. Let the people who grind enjoy the event. Just ideas btw, dont kill me.
