Would be interesting as a racket, could also have a chance of being caught like how the stolen checks are set up. Instead of it being permanent could be something u have to buy every life so that it keeps people buying. Could be like kevlar so its something you have to make and doesn’t belong to a specific faction. Could also see this adding an extra step for gun stores having to verify legitimate IDs and how sales logs would hold up legally when there is a log with a fake id listed. Could also add more rp to needing to check IDs to sell alcohol to 21+ chars which could add another gov job of compliance checkers making sure restaurants aren’t selling liquor to chars 20 and under which then pushes for those chars to also get fake IDs not just felons so they can enter bars and clubs, not sure how often that would be utilized but i like the thought. +1

Ive been playing Diverge and mafia RP for over 5-6 years ive seen all come and go. Ive seen many eras of mafia rp. as well as the people. I will hold my hands up and say since I got pkd on my og Bonnano char and even before that ive been very mouthy and have said my piece multiple time. The state of the beef on the server and the constant shitty ooc squabbles all from years ago has got very out of hand from both sides. I had been playing recently to be the guy that would go out and defend my faction in these situations. Rather than be HC and try resolve it with words. The situation today happened because someone took a IC photo of another Lucchese who was taking photos of them. This resulted in everyone coming over and starting a situation outside of the meat market ending in some words being exchanged. I exchanged some words back because vinny had previously said some words against me as well as a bunch of lucchese saying some very horrible words towards me that can effect **IRL** Consciences for any info on those messages u can dm me. This resulted in a sitdown asking for the death of my character and presumably ended there. Until my Ban. I will put my hands up and say that was a very dumb decision to talk back to those issues. I believe my many roles on the server such as, First Deputy Commissioner, Underboss, First Deputy Mayor, Councilman, FBI, Staff was to push for more roleplay especially my most recent run in Crim rp where I believe. I was a advocate for more roleplay on the server by (Although not deemed very nice by most) reporting members for breaking RP as well as creating and coordinating player ran roleplay events. Anyhow Ill accepted all the -1s from everyone but for a guy that has played the server for 5-6 years and has accumulated a total of 1 day and 1 hour ban on his record I would love for the chance to come back in the future and help out Btown. Hello! Banning admin here. First, you weren't pulled as this was a report made directly through a UA ticket. In this ticket, we were given ample evidence of your actions and the intent of your actions. You have just recently returned from a two month ban from another incident stemming from your mugging habits that even warned you to return with better RP. In this instance, it was shown you had a repeated and clear intent of only mugging one faction. While on it's own not the worst offense your reason to why is why it was decided you had used your last chance. You were target mugging one faction as a form of failed escalation to force actual escalations to happen in a sad attempt to kill off your own faction. This incident right after an extensive ban and your enormous amount of previous, pretty serious, POs showcases you have not learned your lesson and you refuse to engage in quality RP or to be a valued member of our community. For these reasons it was decided your time with us had to come to an end.

So how much would a fake cost, if the whole idea was to use it to be able to carry guns? $100k for one with a class 3 on it to match the price of just getting it legally? How many felons do you think care about avoiding jail enough to spend that type of money on something that might help them? There are risks to being involved in criminal organizations. Once you become a felon there is no point in trying to avoid jailtime other than a life sentence. Taking that very small amount of risk away with a fake license would be useless.

Coke seems to be the only drug that actually benefits you in game. The rest of them have shitty effects that harm you. Make all the different drugs give you a certain buff.

Now what I think should be added is after you temporarily detain someone and they’re in cuffs an immediate grab area check should be added, this is standard police practice and is absolutely used more than a terry frisk irl but on this server practically everytime a cop puts someone in cuffs they’re always going back to station for processing. Plenty of instances where you can release someone on scene, cops don’t seem to understand this.

Definitely a good idea in theory but most cops on this server probably have no idea what reasonable suspicion is and abuse this power frisking every black person or someone they know is a felon they see. Terry frisking is intended for officer safety, I’ve only ever done it when someone is acting belligerent. Most cops on here don’t act with due regard so giving them more power just isn’t a good idea. Good suggestion, but cops need more training before this is implemented.

gosh golly is it Anyway, United States v. Gorin, which further expanded on legal principles related to terry frisking, which was expanding in cases like Adams v. Williams, established by Terry v. Ohio. Terry v. Ohio is a baseline knowledge of the law, but isn't reflective of further judicial rulings in terms of the scope and applicability of the Terry Frisking rules. My main concern is regarding the establishment of face-to-face civilian witnesses, which don't have the same requirement of reliability as you'd typically see in actual criminal informants. In Gorin, an officer was given a description through an anonymous tipline. They then, under their presumption, found the individual whom they believed to have made the report and he repeated the information in person. The defense in this appellate case argued that the bartender, the man who gave the description of the guy with the gun, had not been deemed a reliable witness through prior interactions. The courts found that because he was a guy who was seen as a civilian whom they'd have the ability to subpoena for testimony, and could further corroborate and would reasonably be able to testify in court. Now, what did the court find and was the arrest upheld? The court found that mixing in a variety of factors - notably, the actual description of the individual, coupled with the fact that civilian witnesses dont have the burdon of "reliability", coupled with the "flight risk" i.e. they could reasonably assume the man would leave if they went back and questioned the bartender further, they allowed for the arrest to stand. This, is obviously a *very* low bar, compared to an actual search of a person, and one that cops aren't going to understand because this is gmod. The cops who *do* understand, are going to abuse this. So you're either going to have a guy fucking up, not understanding, and ruining the RP of a player, or you're going to have a retard asshole try and cater his own testimony to reflect what the defining features of what an allowable terry frisk would be (relatable) As a cop now, I would 100% utilize terry frisks way too much. Because the bar is so low. Realistically, I'd *love* to have terry frisks. But also being a guy who does criminal RP, I also understand that it would be really gay and the community would hate it and it would only serve to cause problems. The problem we have here is theres already an issue with random raids. Like, not even a week ago, a captain mass raided an apartment complex because he lost sight of a guy who ran into the apartments. Just kicked every door down. Obviously bad, obviously not even the legal standard, but we all have a garry's mod level understanding of the law. If, the random raiding is a problem even for captains, random terry frisks that don't fit the standards of the courts are going to be an even bigger problem. And if you're not *always* recording, the staff aren't going to do anything about it. Community; how many times have you been randomly arrested and told "Go to court and fight it IC", because it was iffy enough that it wasn't necessarily a rule break, but definitely illegal? How many times have you been arrested for the most mundane action that you didn't clip and you had to deal with a 3 week court thing just to get it dismissed? OBVIOUSLY the cops can't handle this kind of function. They're retarded. No amount of trainings will fix that. They'll do dumb shit, if people are smart enough to clip I don't know that we'd even blacklist for a "Random terry frisk", and if we do we'd be blacklisting a lot of cops. No. Hard fucking no. I don't trust the cops. I don't trust the prosecution to not ignore faulty actions on part of the cops (because i've watched us do that), and I don't trust staff to be able to adequately understand irl law regarding terry frisks to even identify when one is incorrect and random.
