Was Janice lying here?

In S2 E4 of the Sopranos, titled "Commendatori", Tony travels to Italy on a business trip without Carmela, despite Italy being somewhere she would have loved to experience with Tony. Carmela is clearly disappointed and somewhat resentful of Tony's trip to Italy while she remains home. While Tony is away, Carmela sulks around the house listening to Italian music and likely imagining the romantic experience she is missing out on with Tony. About half way through the episode, Janice comes into the house and finds Carmela being all depressed. Janice tries to comfort Carmela by telling her own experience in Italy, claiming that when she visited, she was constantly sexually harassed by the Italian men while her friend Zane wasn't.

Now, this is peculiar for a few reasons, but first, I want to bring up what Chris says earlier in the episode: "Did you notice the women? Even the skanks are worth fuckin'." this implies that the Italian women are atleast high 8's maybe even some 10's sprinkled in there. Janice on the otherhand, bit more of a rubenesque figure....hardly a 5 in my book.

Janice really expects us to believe that in a country overflowing with beautiful women, she was the main star? And to the point that she was being cat called??

Now let's look at the contradictory. From what the show gives us, we can assume Janice was in her early 20's during this Italy trip, and according to several characters in the show, Janice may have actually been something of a smoke show back in the day. Even Tony himself alludes to the fact that his sister used to be very attractive when she was younger.

I honestly believe that Janice may have been embellishing her story a bit to inflate her ego, but I also believe there's probably some truth to it as well. If she was as good looking as they alluded to her being throughout the show, then I think its entirely within the realm of possibility that she was getting major attention.

Janice is probably not lying, italy is genuinely a horrible country for women

Perhaps she was more attractive in her younger days like the other sister (#would for that one), but alternatively she could be that large, busty woman and have been somewhat unique. Maybe the men there saw it as a conquest.
