Fritz
1 hour ago, BigAndy said: I just want to play on a populated good server. Good afternoon, sir. It is great to see your ban appeal, though I do have some unfortunate news as a professional Larpologist. I am not sure what you are hoping for in terms of quality, but the Fritz Perfect Server Impossibility Principle states that a gmod server can have very good roleplay or a very high population, not both at the same time, and that this is due to fundamental player dynamics like the law of minge toleration, and high-playerbase maintenance theory, which makes the cost of maintaining high populations on gmod servers exponentially higher, but we won't get too into that stuff today. What's important to know is the equation itself: σ · Ψ < κₙ Where σ = Average Peak Player Count and Ψ = Roleplay quality on a scale of 1-10 The constant is defined as the Fritz Capacity Constant (κₙ), equal to 512, an experimentally determined upper bound on the total social coherence a Garry's Mod server can sustain. It is treated as invariant across roleplay gamemodes. As the population increases, the maximum possible roleplay quality decreases inversely. The constant 512 shows that a full 128 player server, such as Diverge Networks, can sustain, at most, a roleplay quality asymptote to 4: lim σ ÷ 512 = 4 σ->128 The principal also predicts: Since RP quality is capped at 10, the limit of player in a server with perfect roleplay is also defined. σ < 512 / 10 = 51.2 I will take my Honorary Ph.D from Pendred now Edited 59 minutes ago by Fritz 1 Link to comment
