With forensics, DNA is basically next to useless. Give us more to do with it, leave DNA behind if you get shot or hurt during a PK.  Allow DNA to be collected from body parts., No reason I shouldn't be able to tell if someone's head belongs to their leg or arm just off DNA. Gives reason to collect DNA from people, we can do it but it does nothing

Would also be cool to be able to dispose of body parts just like corpse reports

This also gives more reason to take ALL of the blood on a scene so it just doesn't exist

DNA is basically useless except when it makes an entire case and people make support tickets to try and get the DNA taken off them to be deleted/voided because surely the collection of it was invalid.

There is a chance of the attacker's blood being dropped during a pk but most people just ignore blood (unless that bit of the script is broken, but its not been reported, probably because no one collects blood)

Body part matching? Could do.

Did not know that blood part at the end, Would be pretty cool if we can somehow reassemble dead bodies if we get enough parts. Collect all of the parts and you can reassemble the body and get more info on them

Hello Rudaj snitch, the Human Genome Project was started in the year 1990 and not finalized until April 2003. My KEYBOARD is broken so excuse broken language. The maximum number was about 3,000 in year 1991. But when I scaled it up to year 2000 suddenly the minimum number was about 50,000 cases used DNA as primary evidence. To automatically collect DNA you need somewhere to store such information, you'd need at least floppy discs or hard-drives. But they are purposely rare.  Since it is the year 1990, I will not repeat it again, it is 1990 DNA exists - BRAND NEW method. To instantly store information in the year 1991 or before, your best bet is a notepad and eyes, these both exist in game. CCTV is lacking in this city, but it is improving, some business have paid 50,000 for CCTV or something lately to keep them legal. DNA, even in the big 26' it is not fully guilty beyond a doubt. I could be with a buddy hitting licks on houses, but he uses my  crowbars, tools, pistol (RETARTEDED, NO ONE IS TOUCHING MY GUNS in Diverge)  etc. I'd simply clean the the tools with alcohol, like if it was 2026. In character, I'd go buy alcohol wipes from urban outfitters and CLEAN EVERYTHING. Even today alcohol is OP. '

 

Now I just fully read your post, you are asking for DNA matching. I am from the United States, I live according to Google in the 2nd most surveilled state. I went to jail IRL in April 2024. They only took my mugshot and fingerprints because I was charged with misdemeanor battery. Remember, this was in year 2024 in Surveilled city, I didn't get a DNA test swab because I was not charged with a felony. It is a requirement in my 2nd most surveilled city in USA, that you can only collect DNA from a suspect during processing if he WAS ALREADY A CONVICTED FELON / is being CHARGED WITH FELONIES.

 

TLDR; It's April 1990 bro, you really think police&federeal agencies really have the resources to mass sample DNA against another DNA to confirm it is a match? sure, if you are the super-detective, in the year 2026 that is. in 1990 you'd be calling NASA or DARPA desperately to fill your quota. 

 

It's 1990, if you can't solve a crime like the old cops IC and OOC, DON'T BE A DETECTIVE. in the year 1990 bullet casings, stalking business fronts, doing your diligence as a super stalker detective in 1990, hang out and chat with a wire, I'm serious!

OK. I read your post more. somehow you have grabbed both the skull and bones from both upper & lower body part and are not able to grab DNA and complete evidence. This is crazy to me. If you are forensics certified, every single 'bone' should have DNA, that DNA should match the body what ever, it SHOULD be part of one CharID, but coding this sounds complex.     

 

I guess one very smart thing you could do is investigate now, grab all details, and solve the cold case a couple years later. It's 1990 and one day the server might just say 2025 Mafia Roleplay.
