As a criminal, all you can do is watch as detectives, or other officers, blow through your entire organization, and go really overly hard on your organization in order to get whatever victory they have in mind. There’s nothing to be done. Typically, even if you find the detective, they’re placed inside the PD which is unraidable, and the only people willing to risk their job are usually conflict locked from doing so. I would prefer to keep it this way mainly because Italians weren't exactly known for fighting the police or feds back in the day in our timeframe, when the cops came they showed class and took the arrest on the chin; not run, not fight back, etc. For the New York area in the 90s, this was how they handled themselves with the police, and I think this specific mechanic could remain beneficial as if you were to change this, it would go from MafiaRP to Cops & Robbers really fast. I do like the suggestion overall. On top of your suggestions, I've heard several people over the last year throw around the idea of "setting a max limit to how many people can be on pd whitelist based on number of criminals", but that's another post in itself. Kyle Waladang Posted yesterday at 12:51 AM Share Posted yesterday at 12:51 AM (edited) +1 monaclu kinda brings a valid point and as a way to balance this theirs gonna be the obvious increase in risk that crims can face. Idk I feel just without reading all of the suggestion cause im feeling lazy rn if we lowkey add more ways for us as crims to pk cops and or corrupt officials then it coulda add more rp for both sides as cops will in some way shape or form have more leeway with building cases and prosecuting criminals while we get more leeway on pking cops or something. Idk ive always thought us as crims should be able to take some more action against police as well. Also weird somewhat related why is it that we can only shoot cops for felony arrests idk imo if I know the risks I should be able to shoot for non felonies yea it dont matter as much for non felonies but like it still makes certain aspects of bein a crim difficult like if an enforcer has their prints on file and is known by police then doing their job as a crim is significantly impacted as they have to exercise even more caution if they perform a pk or wtver. Not saying we should make it impossible for crims to be id'd but idk for misdemeanor or felony i think we should be allowed to shoot cops without it being rdm. Idk if im missing something but idk I've never rlly understood why its only for felonies. Edited yesterday at 03:09 AM by Kyle Waladang Link to comment
Holiday
Think about it, Take the average player who joins MafiaRP. They go through life trying to dodge police interactions because they know that could lead to a slippery slope resulting in a Felony which limits them severely, and oh God, everyone's avoiding that looming PK sentence. The average player is evading the police awhile navigating years of interrelated MafiaRP politics where he is walking on eggshells trying to climb the ladder of Diverge. Doing so involves participating in activities that could very well get him killed such as events like this past weekend. So he stays in line, doing whatever he is told to do and not stepping out of line. If he wants the capability to even challenge someone? He needs to grind at least 2 hours to acquire enough money to buy his first gun, losing it on each death that may or may not be compensated for RDM. Grinding and grinding for the other luxuries in life. **THAT** is how a criminal prevents himself from being PK'ed -> Keeping his head down, and grinding. A cop? Gets recruited as a cadet, has to go through training that is immediately overridden by the "status quo" of the bad habits of current street cops who often tip toe the line and sometimes might "push the envelope" of police conduct. Those are the ranks he's being raised in, fearing no evil, no threat of the end of his life. Police are living life on easy mode, like a doe that has yet to leave their mother. The police don't need to grind, they have no incentive to grind. They have one purpose -> spin the perpetual door of LegalRP. "Hook them and book them." I suggest the following: Make a couple PK rules prohibiting the occasional event of a police officer steps out of line, like a criminal does, which results in a PK. Link to comment
