My 2 cents WOOC doesn't really have a downside except maybe some weird in game metagaming shit, but people who'd do that would do it over Discord anyway And all of the counter points are valid and fine too There is the ingame pager, you can IC-ly whisper a pager username, many people have 'business card' binds, you can make your discord username not cringe and it'll fit right in If it takes 2 minutes to code why not just add it If it is a considerable effort - no ones roleplay is *actually* being affected enough to worry Moshi Moshi Omerta Sama Kun Nippon Japan moment

I’d be down for adding a car bomb that’s 100k in the sewers, but it should have a 30 second set up timer, it’d also have to make the car not respawn due to inactivity

You need to have pager contacts, no? I am talking about conveying information to unknown people near me. Why are you being so obtuse about this?
-
Use the in game pager system if you need to privately share things?
-
Kind of shocked you're not for it. This frees up the text box for RP and minimizes the spam of OOC that caused the global OOC to be taken away. LOOC having a WOOC (I titled the post OOCW but WOOC makes more sense due to the formatting of LOOC) means that much OOC banter/chat is tucked away on top of protecting certain OOC information you don't want shared with everyone around you. Maybe I don't want the guy in the next room to know that I'm leaving for work but I do want the guy next to me to. I know "Pager" is a big element and tie-in to the City but I figured encouraging people to stay locked-in and not constantly DM people on Discord to convey messages out of character.
-
Clearly, we have a fundamental disagreement with what should and shouldn't be openly shared in the middle of Roleplay. The entire point of this suggestion is so that we are not publicly sharing Pager information. The person's personal Discord is obviously included with that. Especially since text goes through walls/floors.

Oftentimes, in criminal enterprises, the actual selling of drugs is done through a system of dead drops. So, on the server, I think it'd be really cool to reflect that, and I have some fun twists to balance cops and criminals in this case. A dead drop, in the server, would just be a box that can be placed ONLY INSIDE of actual properties. Therefore, using the box would have direct risk of getting a property seized. There could be up to 3 dead drop boxes/lockers inside a property at once. These would be used by criminals to perform crew deals without having to meet up with eachother. This might seemed overpowered at first, so there's some things that would be used to balance the risk and reward of such a system. Firstly, the boxes/lockers should only be able to be accessed by the party who owns the box when it hits *capacity*. This would discourage use for every day drug deals - i.e. your average rumour trades of 5 or less. You could additionally restrict it to having to be 2 or more lockers filled before access is granted to the property owners. Secondly, the boxes could only be placed *inside* of properties. I.e. inside of your legal property, thats attached to one of your guys' names. If the property is raided for these dead drops, then all of the drugs inside would be attached to your properties. This is an added risk that actually sets properties as valid targets, that *can* finally be seized for conduct, as currently its very rare that a property is seized. Thirdly, restrict the boxes to only drugs. That way joe shmo can't fill it up with random items to hit capacity to let the property access it. Tactics for criminals: Obviously the risk would be high. However, there's a good reason to do it. You dont directly get caught if it goes to shit. Your properties at risk, but your men are safe. You can rebuild, maybe get the property back. Most factions have 2 properties, one they use and one they dont. The risk would be losing a property you're probably not even using. Additionally, you could restrict it with other factions to be only used by HC of other factions. So, if your doing a deal with Cassanos, have a capo+ deliver the product. They gather it on their side, and the associates who could be police dont know where it goes unless they do some actual detective work to implicate it. (i.e. follow them, gain access themselves, etc). Tactics for police: While it may be more difficult to get into crew deals, there's still possibilities to do so. Gaining access or information somehow of these dead drops and their usage. This would restrict their warrants to literally the time that the drop happens, reducing ability of associates to metagame or randomly "guess" that a crew deals going on in a room, causing a raid, because there's "a bunch of people in there". You could get into it somehow inside the criminal organization, you could track the movements of the person who receives all of the drugs, you could somehow get someone to snitch on it. Then, when you have evidence and a warrant, all you gotta do is raid it and get the boxes unlocked. Technicalities of the boxes: The boxes should only be accessible to take stuff out by the faction members of the faction. Additionally, a passcode would be on the box to restrict random associates from being able to see whats inside, like normal lockers. The boxes should be a "Put in only" system for non faction members. This, of course, would be monitored for powergame like normal. The aspect of powergame wouldn't change, because people are able to powergame with or without these boxes. There's no increased risk, and normal monitoring for powergame can occur. The boxes should be restricted to having stuff taken out only if the box is filled, and the person is a member of the faction and has the code The boxes should be restricted to 3-5 boxes per building *in addition to* the normal lockers/boxes that the properties currently have (or still restrict it to 5 total i dont care) The boxes should be restricted to specific kinds of items, as selected by the owning faction. i.e. drugs, guns or clothes

/looc "hey whats your discord"

P.S. I am not going to start complaining and making player reports in Discord or the Forums. Trying to do @ reports already gets me ignored and mocked for just trying to play legit. And I hate snitching. Hate gathering evidence. Hate the whole process. It's not why I'm here. My hopes are some of you will find that spark and log in for the sauce once again.

Can we please RP again? Cut it out with your "cousins" somehow "hearing" about the beef you have with people? Cut down the harassment and chalked up, fabricated reasons to beef. Can't some of you drum up enough creativity to at least justify the shit you start with people without having to lie, metagame, and social engineer by skirting the rules? Just making a plea for some of you to play in good faith and actually RP. There's a reason you came to the City and stayed. We can be diplomatic. We don't have to like each other or even hate each other OOCly to love and hate ICly. Just please, play your characters. I'm so sick of hearing brainrot memes, modern vernacular, and constantly being harassed over dumb shit. Even this right here, pleading for basic decency is going to catch me a ton of flak. I just know it. I'm an RP nerd. It's the only reason I'm here. That's the only reason anyone should need to want to be here or deserve to be here. I agree to follow the rules, which was implicit in my willingness to stay and play for as long as I have. What's the motivation for anything else if not just to troll and harass people to satisfy your egos? Enlighten me, since I'm such a dumbass apparently. tl;dr Hey guys, wanna maybe RP again when you log in the City? Thanks.

Explosives already exist. Extremely risky and extremely rare/near impossible to get your hands on. They only show up, from my experience, when conflicts heat up. They require Admin permission to even use, from my understanding. -1 because it already exists

speed decrease when you pick up someone unconscious
Omerta replied to Rapscallion's topic in Suggestions
Buddy, you can 100% pick up unconscious bodies. What are you even saying? The speed still decreases for the killer who carries a body. He wants the same thing to happen for unconscious people, who can still be dragged like they always have been able to. Why do so many of you fucking retards knee jerk and say shit without thinking it through? -
How exactly am I supposed to DM somebody that I don't know, on the fly, to convey something that's OOC (such as a DIscord invite)? Or explain that "Pager" means "Discord" without others seeing or having it clog up the text that has people RPing? Am I seriously crazy here or are you just doing the famous snarky gaslight and overlooking something you're not taking into consideration? Genuinely asking.

They are already in the server, just not in any rackets. not these types of bombs but they have land mines, lunge mines, rocket launchers, molotovs, etc.
-
This system does this when calculating things like bail, denying bail if you have too many charges. Adding this function as a means to somehow deter minges doesn't make sense since a minge will simply make a new character and repeat being arrested. I can add charges so if there's missing charges consult with PD HC or bingus/mecli and they can communicate with me to have charges added. I think having arbitrary restrictions to a character to add more and more charges sort of just discourages the existence of long term criminal characters so there's no real reason and the officer/state/judge can just manually look up a person's records and modify the charges based on that... doesn't need to be automatic and remove the RP
-
This has been done and should now be reflected on the form.
-
I like the idea but feel like there needs to be a time limit put on it. Further, there should be escalations put in place before just going "talk and you die" where most real mobs would try to just bribe them away since collaboration is often more effective than fear especially when used in conjunction. Just a thought.

Your ban appeal has been reviewed and accepted. The ban will be reduced to 4 days.
-
after 4 years, with almost 3 days playtime I dont see any reason to assume that you *dont* know the rules, but 14 days is also really long. Reduced to 4.
-
This is a really informing and genuinely nice forum post to read, that brings evidence and examples of previous incidents and how the roleplaying experience can be improved, with this rule change as well it is balanced and wouldn't cause harm to the current state of play on the server. Prime example of how to make change in a positive way! TLDR: Massive +1 to this.

you can dm players to convey OOC shit. If you're not allowed to DM them something, you're definitely not allowed to use LOOC to say it.
