yet another ape making the same suggestion for the 450th time. the reason police get treated differently is because they're massively outnumbered and so a thumb has to be applied to the scale. if cops could be pked because they annoyed someone (which is a natural result of 99% of the things they do, because youre all criminals), the NYPD would be depopulated within a week and the server would dry up shortly thereafter. suggesting that staff are just "not taking it seriously" is shortsighted. shooting cops directly outside of your obvious criminal front business because their presence upsets you is also retarded if you apply any thought at all. in real life this would bring your entire business down within a couple of days, if not sooner. and again, its the police's job to frustrate criminals. as for people rejoining PD after being removed/killed, unironically not a thing i can think has happened lately. matteo smith tried it and got dumped instantly, monaclu managed to "return" (two ranks lower even now) after four months of work, and i came back slowly over eight months. it might seem like cops are too powerful or excessive because, in your own mind, youre not "that much" of a criminal, basically a normal citizen, so them annoying you is undeserved. take one look at your character and remember all the meth you make and people youve shot and then actually think, "why might the police be an annoyance to me" shocking lack of critical thought from a former up-and-coming cop/lawyer. disappointing

Requested Remedy: TIGHTEN POLICERP RULES I think everyone on this server has experience a police interaction where they've sincerely thought that the Police were extremely coddled. Police that didn't fear their own lives because of the current rule sets that govern PoliceRP. I am going to go in depth here, and I implore you to read all of it. Does anyone remember William McFarland? Almost every faction from SOS to Kosher wanted this guy dead for some reason or another. Because he just continuously fucked with the wrong people. What was his punishment? It wasn't getting mugged by a large group of people (The only way to kill a cop), because that would be impossible (He would've killed someone along with him—too much risk for a reasonable faction to take). Nothing the FUCKING MAFIA could've done would've been good enough to take William McFarland down. How did he go? He was fired internally for incompetence, which is a subjective reason, nothing objective, such as screwing over multiple people's years long characters, or the constant disrespect. Nope, incompetence from within. What is more MAFIARP than taking matters into your own hands. For the rule of needing multiple people to place a cop under FearRP in a mugging, let's change that to the same standard as Civilian on Civilian muggings. What does the Civilian lose if they're killed? They lose a character that was established with either rank, items, or reputation. What does the cop lose? At best? 1 week before he can make another cop character. This is still lopsided, but at least it's better. Fuck! At least make it 2 to their 1 for the mugging. At least then it's fair! Cops already are likely to pull out their guns to respond to the threat presented to them, why not make it more dynamic with more to lose. Next, I'd like to bring up the fact of police being able to walk into, in front of, or near certain properties owned by the Mafia. Yes, I was banned for this. Yes, I am referring to my ban. If a cop comes into your business, that you are actively selling tickets, items, or otherwise regular business operations and loiters, or refuses to leave, this shouldn't be RDM to take him out of your property forcefully. We need a rule that specifies this and limits it of course. Obviously, multiple warnings given and the ability to articulate what type of business he was impeding before killing the guy. I don't see how it's fail escalation or RDM if you kill the cop for screwing with your business. But if you shot him, and another cop sees it, they can kill you, and all of a sudden it's no longer and issue of RDM or Fail Escalation, it's now a PK. Like come on! That is outrageously unbalanced and unfair towards criminals/civilians. The cop in this instance should be warned multiple times, if he willfully refuses to leave, any criminal would take that opportunity to kill the cop and move on with their day. It should be a valid reason, especially if customers are leaving because of it. Realistically, all of the current rulesets outlining policeRP etc MUST be reviewed because they're took lenient for cops and impose and undue burden on criminals seeking recourse. The worst that can happen to one of us? We lose everything we've worked towards. In my shoes? I lose a 50000s SSN, probably 10 million dollars in assets, my reputation I built on the character, Hours logged on the character, and I have to wait a week before I can even think about joining the same faction. For cops? They lose their pretty little rank and the badges that can easily be given back on another character after a week. I've seen countless posts on the forums talking about this very subject. It's time the staff team took this seriously.

I am not looking for loopholes though? there are plain and stated rules that are worded the way they are worded. I simply just did not do what I got banned for and literally TOLD an admin yesterday what I was doing to show him I lost H when the server crashed and he comped me and sent me on my way. I am trying to add value to your server and give it a good amount of my time since I have a broken foot and feel this is a little unjust and misleading. I was looking at buying a media player and custom character moments before being pulled up, you have to understand how upsetting this is.

We asked him multiple times to leave the property because his presence was interfering with our roleplay. He eventually stepped outside, but stayed right near the entrance, which continued to deter customers and hurt the RP. I ask that it be recognized that escalation with police cannot merely start with punching a cop. I'd be PKed in a heartbeat, or be a tactical disadvantage. Instead, I waited for his conduct to continue to go on, he clearly wasn't intending on deescalating or leaving the area. There was no fail escalation here. From my perspective, this felt like harassment or an attempt to find a legal reason to shut down the scene. That’s why people began recording, as part of RP. I wasn’t trying to break rules or escalate improperly — I was trying to protect the RP we had going. To start there is zero bad blood on my side, The rule you are posting is stating that I am transferring items between MY characters OR acting like a middleman is just factually incorrect. I never switched characters and grabbed items, and I did not act as a middleman by picking up items and giving them to someone else. I understand how this is trying to be painted as me knowingly or maliciously trying to cheat some system, but I am genuinely new in terms of actually trying to join factions and play the game, not just hop on, talk to people and get off the game. I am very confused on how I had a partner who has played this for years also did not know about some rule that I'm being painted of doing is even a thing. I truly was having a great time; we won a comedy night we were getting recognition and playing the game safely. During that run I had some of the best times I've had on gmod and was getting ready to spend the whole duration of my broken foot grinding this out. Also to point out the response I am replying to from the admin is literally a copy and paste from my partners. I truly hope this can be resolved because I have a lot of grinding I was hoping on doing!

That I won't deny, but the Richie "Fat Pussy" Luciano character never item transferred Heroin between another player nor put it in the trunk of a car for another character to then grab, then sell. All the profits of Riche "Fat Pussy" Luciano were from M. The fact that all the H baggies were in the bank is further proof of no item transfer or profits. Sure it was processed, but maybe make remove the mechanic of processing if this was a breakable rule. I think the fact that all the baggies being banked is evidence of no item transfer, none of the processed H was then transferred to circumvent the blockade or whatever. I just don't think justifies the PK especially when Richie didn't item transfer, if it's a problem with processing then show me explicitly the rule. Again, i have video evidence of this, and your explanation doesn't refute any item transfer bans. The H processed was never sold or transferred from character to character to bypass or exploit a mechanic, and if the processing of H itself was the PK offense, then maybe don't let me do that? I mean i literally went up to it and it let me, there was no blockade. Furthermore just take the H out of the bank and make me lose the money i spent on buying the H bricks and processing, not a PK... i got the vids if you want to see for yourself, also check the logs.
