Do you acknowledge that lying on this application will result in immediate denial and blacklisting from staff?: I do. ================================================================================================================================= What is your motivation/reason for applying?: My main motivation for applying is stemmed from my previous experience of being staff on Diverge Networks. After leaving Diverge Networks for a month or two and now having been back for a little while, I've realized that I miss a lot of the responsibilities of being a staff member. From being on the staff team, I amassed a lot of knowledge of the server rules including some of the more niche/unwritten-though-enforced rules of Diverge that I can't really put to use since I'm not staff. Not only knowledge of the rules, but I greatly enjoyed the community interactions I had as a staff member that I see current staff members having, both through gamemaster events and standard enforcement of server rules. One of the stand-out features of being a staff member that I miss was dissecting the more general/vague parts of the rules and having debates in Staff Sits. The intricacy of the Diverge server rules is something that is outmatched on any other Garry's Mod server (that I've seen/read). Why should you be considered over other candidates?: I think some of my qualities that would put me above other candidates would be my knowledge of the server rules and experience as a staff member. From being staff on Diverge Networks, I have gained both knowledge and understanding of the server rules, both written and unwritten. Comparatively, to a candidate who has a lesser understanding of the rules, I would be able to handle situations more efficiently and with more accuracy in regards to my judgement. Secondly, to my experience as a staff member, I have both an understanding and a habit of handling situations involving staff members in a certain manner. Admittedly, being staff on Diverge Networks means that someone who think that you have wronged them by enforcing the rules aren't often able to listen to reason and often hurl insults and profanities when you inform them of a punishment or that they did something wrong. Having both experienced and navigated that aspect of being a staff member, I would be able to handle situations with a more calm demeanor & level head than a person who was inexperienced with staff interactions, leading to a more positive experience on both sides. (Please list where, what position and how long): I have had several different experiences as staff on roleplay servers across the last ~5-ish years, but my most recent and relevant instance was as a Senior Moderator on Prometheus Networks for 7-8 months & being a Moderator on Diverge Networks for 3-4 months. Have you been banned before on any of our servers? If so, why?: I have never been banned on Diverge Networks. Would you say that you are well known in our community, what's your reputation, what do other members think of you?: I would say that I am decently well-known throughout Diverge, though I am most definitely not the most known. From the people I do know, I believe I have a good reputation. I am unaware of anybody that I have a poor relationship with. What is your favorite moment on Diverge so far?: I have a hard time picking out a specific moment on Diverge that is my "favorite moment", though I can say without a doubt one of my favorite experiences was the Valentine's Day Racket War a few months ago. Both the PvP coupled with strategy & playing with friends was a lot of fun and very rewarding when my faction was moved up in our racket. Have any staff members recommended you? If so, list their names: None to my knowledge. ================================================================================================================================= Someone RDM's and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this?: I would start off by clipping the incident with Medal to have proof of the actual RDM. After I have situated the clip and trimmed it accordingly to highlight the incident that needs reporting, I would contact a fellow member of staff, showing them the clip I had gotten as evidence and ask them for a Staff Sit with myself, the staff, and the person who RDM'd me. I would ensure that I personally did not handle the situation myself to avoid any potential bias on my part, along with a proper explanation from a third party that was not involved in the incident in the case of any refreshers of server rules or, if warranted, any punitive action being taken. You have seen a fellow staff member of higher or equal rank than you abusing fairly often, but never doing anything too noticeable. What do you do?: I would ensure every time I witnessed the abuse happen, I would gather appropriate proof of the incident (screenshots, clips, audio recordings, etc.). After witnessing the abuse occur, I would attempt to message them and ask what provoked these actions and what led them to abuse. After trying to gather more information, I would let them know/remind them that their actions would be considered abuse. If the member of staff genuinely seemed ignorant to the fact that their actions were abusive, I may hold off on reporting. Otherwise, if the staff member did not seem remorseful and seemed like they knew it was abuse already, I would show the evidence I collected to a member of staff higher than the individual, most likely a member of Upper Administration. I would continually record the evidence and submit it every time I witnessed it, repeating the process. A member of your faction / friend of yours has a ticket made against them accusing them of RDM’ing, and minging. You know that this person rarely does this when you play with him. How do you proceed knowing this? Does it constitute possible bias?: Once I receive the ticket, I would start off as I usually would do with gathering the evidence and collecting each side's story of the situation. Considering that I would personally know this person in this situation, I would want to avoid any bias decisions or any accusations of being biased. To do this, I would contact another member of staff to get their opinion on the situation and get confirmation as to whether or not he/she thinks the claims are valid enough for punitive action. Once I've gotten a second opinion from another member of staff, I would either pass the situation off to them entirely, or proceed with punishment or lack thereof depending on the opinion given by the other member of staff. I generally don't hold grudges over people breaking gmod server rules, but what you and those associated with you did was cringe and pathetic. Only way you're stepping back in here is if you fork out some serious cash. There is no other incentive for me to want to have people back who did what you did.

I agree. We could bring great roleplay to the server again after so many years since the incident. It was the other guys that manufactured and ran the dupes. They just gave us the money. To be fair, I also offered to help patch the glitch after finding out what it was too. To just automatically and immediately deny the appeals from two people that brought quality RP to the server for so long is crazy after so much time has passed. You guys have overturned many perm bans for crazier things in the past.

Yes, I didn't mean that I wasn't involved in the situation. What I meant was that I wasn't the person who burned the dead body. You saw me while I was attempting the PK yourself. You told me you were busy and didn't interfere. Instead, you directed another Senior Officer to my location over the radio (it's clear from the clip that you were communicating over the radio). Then while that officer was trying to arrest me you came back and killed me First you leave an incident that you personally witnessed. Then about five minutes later you return wearing only a white shirt kill me switch to your staff character personally PK my character and even send an event message afterward. If the UA would like to see it I'm happy to provide my own clip. In the footage you can clearly be heard saying that you weren't going to deal with me before leaving the scene. Yet about five minutes later while not even wearing a proper police uniform you directed a Senior Officer to deal with me then returned yourself and killed me which ultimately led to my PK. Is that really an appropriate or ethical way to handle the situation?

Hi, i'm the person that pked you and the admin who ran the command. I'll address each point individually 1. You were cleaning up the crime scene of a murder. A murder you probably were involved in. I caught you. I have you on recording, both CCTV, and camera when I got on the roof immediately after I left you alone. You may not have *burned* the body, but you 100% picked up the casings, and were involved. 2. "Because of a false accusation, I attempted to shoot a cop" bad choice. You were guilty tho. 3. This is you, cleaning up casings. 4. I didn't have a uniform on. The policy regarding uniforms is that, if a individual shoots at you not realizing you're a cop, it's not a pk. If you try to arrest someone in a white shirt, and they shoot at you not realizing, your PK might be denied. If you're flagrantly breaking uniform rules to get an easy arrest, to "Suprise taze them", that's another thing that might get your pk denied. In this instance, I was part of an event, and between locations. I was going to get onto a rooftop when I saw you. I had no time to get a uniform on, and I did not try to arrest you as a result. I, instead, alerted another officer who was in uniform and did have tools. He did the arrest. You shot him, as I was running up, and I shot you. This does not invalidate a PK. 5. Yes, staff are too pre-occupied with the event. I do not usually do this, for this exact purpose. I've always disliked taking my own PKs. However, it is actually allowed and completely fine. It's just a preference of mine. 6. Event weapon? It's a gun my guy. We keep those guns. They're real guns. They're ours forever. Also, it's 100% a HANDICAP to try and shoot a guy with a musket (as I didn't have my PD gear on me). Had I missed, as I had the most likely chance to miss and get fucked, you wouldn't be complaining.

What server rule or PK rule was violated?: The officer had no valid reason to arrest me in the first place and the cop who shot me wasn't even in uniform. He was wearing plain clothes while acting as a patrol officer. If possible please provide video evidence or photo evidence if PK does not follow the guidelines: I was accused of burning a dead body, even though I wasn't the person who did it (This can be verified through the server logs) Because of that false accusation, I attempted to shoot the officer who was trying to arrest me. During the situation, Sergeant Hamida Abdullah shot me with an event weapon (a Musket) while wearing plain clothes and without being in uniform as a patrol Officer. Afterwards Monaclu switched to his staff character, took the ticket himself, and personally PK'd my character. I'm not trying to make this into a staff report, but the fact that I was shot by a police character who wasn't in uniform while using an event weapon, and then had the same person switch to their staff character and PK me, doesn't sit right with me. I'll leave it up to the UA team to decide whether that was handled appropriately.

I logged back on this evening and when I selected my character it gave me a notification that my character was banned. I was told by a friend in discord that this meant my character was PKed. When I had logged off I was never talked to or informed of any reason why I would be PKed. I wanted to appeal for these reasons or at the very least be informed about why I was PKed.
