Allow gun vendors to run firearm serial numbers

All gun stores can buy legally aquired and properly serialized firearms, but there is an inherant risk due to not knowing the guns history, therefore most gun stores dont aquire guns. 

I would propose gun vendor holders are able to run serial numbers of guns to verify ownership, similiar to the ability police have. To avoid abuse, put a cooldown on it, 1 per hour or x per day.

In real life, any gun store could run a guns serial number through a database to check if it was stolen or connected to a crime.

Licensed FFLs have no way of running serial numbers. Serial numbers are logged on an A&D book when stores acquire the weapon, and are reported to the ATF when sold for compliance. 
BUT, FFL holders work very closely with law enforcement to verify the guns they are buying from walk-ins aren’t stolen or ghost guns. It’s as simple as calling either a local police department or your nearest ATF field office and giving them the serial, they will cross reference 4473s and the NICS. 
 

So with that being said, there should be some sort of channel of communication between gun vendors and police to verify serial numbers.

there is a forum for it id like it to be used within the NYPD so we can connect more crimes together ( i have seen it once) and itd be cool so we can see if anyone fucked up sales so we can get more warrants out for False or misleading statements (ie messing up SSN / Serial numbers is a crime and you can be arrested for it)

That would probably be a bridge too far. Gun stores are already subject to audits at basically any point, so having constant access to that info and just lurking waiting for a simple clerical error would be pretty lame.
