FastDL and gluapack for faster server loading times

Let's be honest; not everybody has a powerful computer or has good internet. Sometimes, when a player tries to connect to the server, even with all workshop content installed, they get timed out, requiring them to reconnect more than once, which is inconvenient. It would be cool to have FastDL and gluapack for faster server loading times.

Back in my day it took me 2 hours to connect to gmod servers on my Acer Laptop and i still thugged it out

bro what year do you think it is that we still need fastdl

steam workshop downloads files through steam automatically which is quicker than fastDLL or gluapack could ever hope to be
the server runs on x86-64 allowing for a much larger memory address range than the usual 4gb which prevents your client overloading during connection

it is 2026. we are playing a game on an engine released in 2004. that is 22 YEARS AGO. If you struggle to connect then you either have bad internet or a very bad PC which has nothing to do with the server

look into fastDLL for me and tell me if you think downloading each file from every single addon individually rather than steam downloading the entire addon at once for you is a good idea

do you really think the server is running on gmod's throttled ass 20kb/s limit?
