So me and my colleague Mike Stevens received disciplinary strikes from corporal yuna nong. This was my third one which sent me down to probationary for 3 weeks, then I was getting chased from other officers to put on a probationary vest which then I proceeded to fire shots in the air to make them back off, I was then arrested and charged when I was in the cells my colleague Mike Stevens (blobbis22) came into the cells and I told him he should uncuff me and we should take the lawyer hostage as a rp scenario I then asked multiple people if I’d get banned for this even a moderator (Crimson) and they all said no and we would probably just get pked which was fine with us so we carried out with our rp mike even said in chat if they open the door we would kill the hostage and then the officers opened the door and opened fire I would provide the necessary clip but I’m at work currently however after they opened fire we both returned fire but ultimately were overpowered and then when we were in pd basement after respawning they all ran down and arrested us and we were both handed 105 year sentences and we ultimately accepted them resulting the pk of our characters, We were completely fine with this and I ended up going to bed and waking up to see I was banned for 2 weeks. Now at first I wasn’t even going to appeal it because I was pissed off but then I checked the rules and couldn’t find anything that stated that I had broken the rules, moderators if you choose to keep me banned that’s fine but all I ask is that you atleast shorten it by a week or a little longer because I cannot possibly play Ark, Batman Arkham Knight, and arc raiders for 2 weeks straight, and I need to be able to pay my faction the weekly tab, thank you.

This individual rp’d the pk no need for a ban +1 he could have done worse but seemed to go the rp route with his death.

I had to blacklist them for failed corruption.

The rp was played out, and they did get life sentences, so I think the ban is probably excessive.

Banning mod here, Fail Corruption and AMRDM are the rules that were broken. But i do think 2 weeks is excessive and it was suggested to me by a fellow staff member, Maybe 12 hours would be a better time for a situation like this, Or even an unban. they did RP it out and both characters got life sentences which is a fair point as well.

I believe that mass RDM was not broken, as the start of the gunfire was initiated by the police officers. In addition, the officers that kidnapped me did not initially kill me.

 

With that in mind, I do believe that they had the intentions to RP with me as the "kidnappee". If they had MRDM in mind, I would've already been dead. 

 

Given that they're already blacklisted from PD, a 2 week ban, in my opinion, is not worthy for the things they did. They were intending to roleplay, and they got PK'ed for it.

(Replying here too) As the staff member that gave the recommendation, I was under the impression with the information I had that it was an attempt to kill everyone in the PD due to you guys being fired, after reading the appeal and seeing the clips, in MY opinion Fail Corruption would be the only applicable thing in this situation.

Hi,

After reviewing both you, and your friend's appeal, and the evidence provided by those involved, I think that the right move here is to reduce your ban.

Whilst I agree that your actions do not constitute AMRDM, the Fail Corruption rulebreak is valid. You have (to my knowledge) received a PD blacklist and character ban for this, so I am happy to reduce your ban to 1 day.

It's worth considering contacting staff in future if you have roleplay ideas or scenarios, like this one, that can break from the usual expected processes and bend the rules a bit - an admin or GM could definitely oversee a hostage style escalation like this, and deliver a smoother and more exciting experience for everyone involved.
