Nobody, and I mean nobody is talking about IC rumours. Don’t conflate the two unless you’re exposing yourself as one of the many people who DO let OOC bleed into IC badly enough to mix the two and argue like retards for an hour in rumpus using modern and OOC terms and comments, like we see daily when Staff let it go.

Nobody is saying axe underground ads. Just add flags or enforce IC which is, ya know, the rules anyways.

 

honestly, this would all be solved with OOC flags/channels and have them toggled off by default and let retards idle and rot there.

I mean the "OOC" flags and channels is just discord. Having a dedicated OOC chat ingame detracts from RP and is bum nigga shit.

You can easily find a middle ground by implementing cooldowns, term blacklists and mutes. 

For term blacklists I haven't seen many suggestions but ideally you want to take words that are inherently OOC and block them from being used.

The only suggestion i was given is to block faction names.

What about a particular racial slur. Never seems to be used in an RP friendly manner. The words rape, server, lag, PK, appeal, staff.

Anything else?

Ban, Banned, RDM, VDM, Metagame generally all ban reasons and possibly your name and Pendreds

Its not even rumour chat is the issue, its staff does NOTHING to stop people from talking ooc in rumour.
Only thing that ever happens is someone in ooc saying to stop or a 5 min timeout. 
START PASSING OUT BANS FOR PEOPLE TALKING OUT OF RP INSIDE RUMOUR OR VC, server is full of people who just DONT RP in the slightest because its too hard or they dont care etc. Rumour is plagued with people name dropping factions, that needs to stop or the health of the server and its chat will just continue to degrade.

I think the server could live with and without rumor. We have a nice cell phone system but no real use of it I've ever seen. The in game pager system could also use a revamp where the number isn't your charid and creating a feature to make pager groups. 

 

Dealing is almost exclusively coordinated in discords anymore. While it's better than it used to be during the era of trading servers with ticket systems, it would be cool to see a resurgence of in game pager use. Even better if wiretaps and such were also improved. 

 

As it stands with the condition of the server with the existing content yeah rumor should stay. But there's a path forward towards something less mingey imo.
