Reason for appeal (dispute/apology): 

I was in a situation where I had stolen someones oil barrels. The player made a dispute and called the admins, who decided he was allowed to PK me. We were both returned to the Rockefeller garage (Where I stole the barrels), and somehow — by pure luck — I managed to escape with only about 2 HP left after he hit me 2–3 times with his gun while I was running away. After surviving and getting away, I later switched to my second character and went back to the garage to see what was going on. There were cops on the scene, and I was curious about what happened after my escape. The other player, frustrated that I got away, called the admins again and accused me of cheating. My question is: how could this be considered “char abuse” or “LTAP,” when there is a system that prevents you from switching characters for several minutes after taking damage?

Why should you be unbanned? 

I really enjoy the server and the community, and I don’t want this situation to be the reason I lose access permanently. I understand that from the admins’ perspective, it may have looked like I was abusing the system or avoiding roleplay, but that was never my intention. I see now that I should have handled things differently and made sure there was no confusion about switching characters or returning to the scene. I believe this was a misunderstanding rather than me intentionally breaking the rules, and I’m asking for another chance to show that I can contribute positively to the server.

I’m not sure how you don’t see your ban as justified. Let me explain the reasoning step by step:

 

• It started with you, on your character, taking another player’s oil — over six barrels. That amounts to more than 10k in stolen profit, which is already grounds for a PK.
• After taking the oil, you switched to a different character, which is considered avoiding punishment.
• You then switched back to your original character, at which point we pulled you in for a sit. After reviewing the situation, we decided to let the other player PK you instead of issuing a ban.
• Once sent back, you took the damage and waited out the timer. However, you then called the police and immediately switched characters again, only to switch back shortly after. This was clear character-switching to avoid an active roleplay situation.
• At that point, since you had already been given leniency once, we issued a ban. The original decision was simply a permanent character kill, but your continued character abuse during the same RP situation escalated it to a ban.

I understand why it looked like character abuse and LTAP, and I can see now that switching back and forth gave the wrong impression. That wasn’t my intention — I wasn’t trying to avoid punishment, I was just confused and curious about what was happening after I escaped. I should’ve handled it differently, and I’m sorry for how it affected the situation and other players’ RP.

I really enjoy Diverge and don’t want to lose access over this mistake. If possible, I’d appreciate a second chance, even if it means a PK, a temp ban, or another punishment instead of a permanent one.
