Bullet Casings

Hello! I was doing a little bit of a rabbit hole research and started looking into "brass catchers".

I think if criminals, maybe limited to felons like the kevlar, could purchase a brass catcher for their weapon, allowing them to make faster escapes on hits.

I think this will add another level of planning when it comes to doing hits and would make the process more interesting.

While I understand it may be unlikely for a mobster to have access to these during this time since they was not really streamlined until later years, it doesnt rule it out completely.

ALSO i dont know if this is already how it works or not. but make revolvers not drop casings. no one uses revolvers and it would make them more viable for these kind of situations.

Brass catchers are pretty new-ish as far as the modern mesh nets, especially the ones available on the civilian markets.

i have one on my AR build and it’s pretty nice. Note, though, that they fill up after a couple mags and when they fill up, it’s… interesting to handle the weapon afterward.

not sure how the physics and such could be handled because it’s the type of accessory that needs constant maintenance during use to be effective. It would be completely OP from a game-ified standpoint and pretty unbalanced/unrealistic for the setting of being in NYC late 80s/early 90s

soft -1

i wouldn’t hate it but it’s just more way too modern stuff to add in

I would say that revolvers definitely should not drop any casings unless you reload. I think there should be a manual reload by opening inventory and right clicking to unload empties into your pocket/inventory and then reload with R as normal.

furthermore, make the casings an actual item that needs to be disposed of on top of this. Yea, it’s making our criminal jobs harder but that’s the fun of it.

can we just make this the new suggestion of the post faith was cooking still (im sure there were prototype/makeshift bullet catchers of some kind back in the day) but this is the perfect middle ground maybe not so much the inventory aspects but the overall if you dont reload it doesnt drop bullets

its a perfect risk reward trade off less rounds for the exchange of quicker escape but if your aim sucks it can cost you and everyone else their lives
