Lysergic
Your Character or Steam Name: Lysergic Your SteamID (Click to retrieve): 76561198096574363 Your Discord ID#: kitzeno Reason for ban: I was banned for mass mugging and fail mugging. Length of ban: 1 Day Permanent Reason for appeal (dispute/apology): Dispute Why should you be unbanned? Let me start by acknowledging I fail mugged someone in a zone where an NPC could see us. This was an honest mistake on my part, and I’ve reviewed the rules to make sure it doesn’t happen again. I’m appealing the ban because this was my first offense (no prior warnings or admin sits) and the punishment seems harsh for the mistake I commited. I've played consistently since I joined last week, created multiple characters, and even purchased donator status to show my commitment to the server. Despite that, I was banned for a day without any prior warnings or offenses. During the sit, I offered to return everything to the person I mugged, as I was unaware that the area was a no-mug zone. I wasn’t mass-mugging either and I was careful to wait over 15 minutes between each attempt. I understand the all actions have consequences, but I feel that a one-day ban for this first-time mistake is excessive, especially when I’ve seen more severe offenses handled with verbal warnings. For example, last week I was in an admin sit with an officer that broke multiple rules to raid my property without cause (they just kicked my door down out of nowhere), and despite losing all my items and disputing the situation for hours, they were only given a warning. In my case, I made a genuine mistake, was sincere about it, and even offered to rectify it during the sit, yet received a ban with no previous warnings. I respect the admin team’s work, and my goal isn’t to undermine the rules but to ask for reconsideration. I believe this situation could have been resolved with a warning, and I would assure you it wouldn't happen again. Thank you for your time and consideration. EDIT: After my 1 day ban was issued, I made an impulsive decision to try and rejoin the server on alternate accounts. I was frustrated and wanted to clarify the situation with my main account before logging off for the night, but I should have gone through the proper appeal process instead. I was immediately banned on my alts and my 1 day ban was updated to permanent on my main account. I am deeply sorry for attempting to rejoin, and I just hope you can understand how I was feeling at the time. I genuinely love playing on this server and roleplaying as all my different characters. My intent was never to disrupt the roleplay experience for myself or others. Lysergic
I forgot to mention my character also got PKed for this offense, which I found to be fair given I failed a mugging, but I never expected my account to be banned from the server. Link to comment

Before I do my "banning admin here" blurb, do we want to talk about the two alt account attempts during your 1 day ban? 1 Link to comment

Hello Anzati, Thank you for responding. I want to be completely honest about the situation with the alt accounts. After being banned last night, I made an impulsive and poor decision to try and rejoin the server after the ban. I was frustrated and wanted to clarify the situation with my main account before logging off for the night, but I now realize I should have gone through the proper appeal process instead. After re-reading the rules, I understand how serious it is to join with alts. I’ve really enjoyed my time on the server, and I hope I can be forgiven for this lapse in judgment. I was not coming from a malicious place. Moving forward, I’m fully committed to following the rules and contributing positively to the community. Thank you for considering my appeal, and I hope you can see that I’m genuinely trying to make things right. Edited October 21 by Lysergic Clarification Link to comment

Lysergic
To be honest, I'm really disappointed with the decision. From my perspective the punishment feels really harsh for what I did. This was the first admin sit on the server where I've been guilty of anything in my 1 week of playing. I've never had prior warnings/notes, and I even purchased the donator role to show my commitment to the server. Mugging someone in the wrong part of the map was an honest mistake, but the punishment seems disproportionate to me. I don't think it's fair for this ban to be on my record permanently when I could've just as easily have been PKed and left off with a warning and it would've never happened again. Since then, I've talked to a few members of the community to see how my punishment fared up to their previous experiences with admins. It left me feeling cheated on, as my situation and it's subsequent punishment were extraordinarily harsh in comparison. Edited October 26 by Lysergic 2 Link to comment
Canadian-bacon
You tried to evade the very light 1 day ban twice. Of course it was detected and extended. Very disappointing you chose to evade over attempting to appeal Link to comment

I hope you can see that I've never tried to intentionally disrupt the roleplay experience for others or myself. I'm very sorry for attempting to rejoin, it was stupid of me and an impulsive decision I made at the time to speak to the admin. I just hope my lack of warnings, my commitment to purchasing donator role within my first week of playing, and the amount of hours I've poured into the server in such a small time frame can serve as proof that I am in it for the right reasons. I would love to come back to the server, I was very involved with a total of 4 factions in all of my characters. I hope you see that this was my first admin sit and I made a mistake. Fritz
+1 While it is reasonable for the ban to be extended, the player who is appealing is relatively new to the community and has no previous offences. The ban should be greatly reduced in length even though he attempted to evade the punishment as it is unjust to permanently remove a member of the community with a clean record. While it was greatly inappropriate for him to try and evade the ban, Lysergic obviously had no intent to further break any rules while connecting again, and it should be considered that even as a newer member of the community he has made significant social connections to those on the server, creating an inherent instinct to want to participate and interact with them. All we ask is that the ban is reduced to a more proportional punishment considering the totality of the circumstances and lack of harm done. Edited October 29 by Fritz Link to comment
James
You ban evaded a 1 day bad twice on the same day, the only reason you would do that would be so you could get back on and minge, it's only been 9 days since the ban you can wait a bit longer. Your ban appeal has been reviewed and denied. We have determined this ban to be reasonable and/or justified. Ensure you have read our Server Rules. Link to comment
