What is your motivation/reason for applying? I’ve really enjoyed my time on Diverge, especially when it comes to the roleplay experience. It’s been a fun environment that’s allowed me to explore different aspects of the server, but I feel like I’ve reached a point where I want to be more involved. I’d love to understand how things operate behind the scenes, whether it's managing day-to-day server tasks or helping with community events. By taking on a staff position, I believe I can contribute more actively to the server's growth and success. I’m excited about the opportunity to help others and ensure that the server remains a welcoming and enjoyable place for all players. Overall, it’s about pushing myself further and giving back to the community that’s already given me so much enjoyment. Why should you be considered over other candidates? I believe my reliability and calm demeanor make me a strong candidate for the role. When challenges arise, I’m able to remain level-headed and make decisions without letting emotions cloud my judgment. I take responsibility seriously and always follow through on tasks in a timely and efficient manner. One of my strengths is communication—I make sure everyone involved is on the same page. In addition, I’ve found that I’m usually available when needed, even during off-hours, which I think is a good advantage to have as a staff member. I’m genuinely committed to helping others and ensuring a positive experience for everyone, and I think that makes me stand out as someone who will add value to the team. Do you have any previous staffing experience? (Where, position, how long) Yes, I have previous staffing experience as a GM/Moderator on Revenant Networks for around three months. In this role, I was responsible for overseeing gameplay, managing player disputes, and ensuring the overall smooth operation of the server. I had to handle a variety of situations, from resolving conflicts to enforcing server rules. During my time there, I became very familiar with server moderation tools, communication with both staff and players, and understanding the importance of maintaining a balanced and fair environment for everyone. The experience taught me a lot about how to manage both technical issues and interpersonal conflicts effectively, which I believe will translate well to a position on Diverge. Have you been banned before on any of our servers? If so, why? No, I have never been banned on any of Diverges servers. I’ve always made sure to respect the rules and the community guidelines, and I take pride in being a responsible player. I understand that maintaining a positive and respectful atmosphere is key to a successful roleplaying experience, and I aim to always follow those principles when participating in the server. Should I ever make a mistake, I’d handle it with the utmost respect for the staff and the rules, learning from it to improve going forward. Would you say that you are well known in our community? What’s your reputation? I’d say I’m somewhat well known in the community, particularly among regular players. I’m not the type to stir up trouble, and I always try to contribute positively to the server. My reputation is one of fairness, respect, and reliability. I do my best to treat everyone with kindness and ensure that I’m approachable when others need assistance. Whether it’s helping new players understand the mechanics of the server or resolving conflicts diplomatically, I strive to be someone that others can count on. Overall, I think people see me as a positive and supportive member of the community. What is your favorite moment on Diverge so far? One of my favorite moments on Diverge was when I accidentally delivered furniture to the wrong people, which turned into a hilarious and lighthearted interaction. It was one of those unexpected, “wrong place, right time” situations where everyone involved just went along with it, and we ended up creating some really fun moments. Instead of getting upset or frustrated over the mix-up, everyone embraced it, which led to a lot of laughs and some great roleplaying interactions. It was a reminder of how little things like that can really shape the experience and make the community feel more connected. Those types of moments are what make the game special and create lasting memories with others. Have any staff members recommended you? If so, list their names. I haven’t been recommended by any staff members yet. However, I’ve worked alongside several staff members during my time on the server and have always tried to demonstrate my dedication to the community through my actions. I’m open to feedback and constantly strive to improve, so I would be more than happy to work closely with staff members to ensure I’m meeting the server’s expectations. Problem Solving Someone RDMs and you are currently off-duty. How do you handle this? If I’m off-duty, I recognize the importance of respecting the boundaries between staff and players, and would avoid intervening directly in the situation. However, I would still take the responsibility of documenting the incident properly. This means gathering any relevant evidence, such as recording the RDM or taking screenshots if needed, and then submitting a detailed ticket or report to on-duty staff. It’s important that the issue gets addressed properly, even if I’m not actively involved in it at the moment. I would also make sure to keep communication open with the team, just in case any further details are needed or clarification is required. You’ve seen a staff member of higher or equal rank abusing fairly often, but never anything too blatant. What do you do? If I were to witness a staff member, even one of a higher rank, engaging in abuse (even if subtle), I would take the situation seriously. My first step would be to document everything thoroughly, recording any instances where I’ve observed inappropriate behavior or abuse. I would then bring the matter to a higher-ranking staff member privately, sharing my findings and offering any evidence I’ve gathered. I believe in maintaining professionalism and fairness, and I’d make sure to keep things as objective as possible. It's important to approach these situations in a calm and respectful manner, keeping in mind the long-term health of the community. A friend/faction mate has a ticket against them for RDM and minging. You know they rarely do this. How do you proceed, and is there potential bias? In this situation, I would be conscious of my potential bias, given that the person involved is a friend. It’s crucial that I treat the situation fairly and impartially, so I would either pass the ticket to another staff member to avoid any conflict of interest or handle it as objectively as possible. I would focus solely on the evidence and follow the server’s rules, just as I would for any other player. If it turns out that the ticket is indeed legitimate, I’d make sure to treat my friend the same way as any other player, as it’s essential to uphold the same standards for everyone. Transparency and fairness are key in maintaining the integrity of the staff team and the server as a whole.
