Right now, rumour is 60% saying retarded shit without facing RP consequences, and 40% being used properly. I think there could be a few ways to go about changing this. 1 - Its removal entirely, and adding a system similar to the city board for creating an actual marketplace for criminals, and then enabling OOC. (The OOC part is optional) 2 - Adding a cooldown, to incentivize using it for its intended purpose, and enforcing misuse 3- Creating a flag for it, and whenever someone misuses it, they lose access for x amount of time based on the severity of the punishment. It'll also make the server seem more serious to newer players, not seeing a glorified ooc chat going off with stupid messages 24/7

Would be nice just to add a "Repeat Offender" option that is 1 minute long, and no limit. That way you can add as many as you need. And to the naysayers who would suggest "What if they abuse it", I'd point out that you can literally already add every single charge possible to a guy.

Okay hear me out, imagine instead of "Falling off a building" or "drowning in a lake" to pk your self you could totally take a pistol or a shotgun and totally like blow ya shit smooove off. soft +1 i could see this in a lot of rp scenarios ngl. definitely abusable but maybe not that bad it'd be important that you would need a firearm and/or a lethal amount of drugs in order to kill yourself which would help keep people from just making characters just to chain kms in businesses. could also see lobbing yourself off of a tall building but thats incredibly abusable. if you're poor and wanna die; go to the train tracks. dying by subway should be an autopk. period. if you have someone feeding items to chars to keep kmsing then thats a problem of its own imo staff intervention would be balls for something like this- there would be hardly any point in adding it if you needed to get a staff approval each time. might as well just /me it if thats the case. i could see this being used is when its a split second decision. end of the pursuit and wanna dodge jail time and know you're cooked? pull the trigger did you just rat and your family has worse plans for you? go out on a high note and stuff your face in 5 baggies of blow/heroin just got caught being corrupt and cant save face? smoove off. only issue i could see is this being used nefariously by factions as a way to shirk responsibility for shady-reasoned pk's by making noob associates kms (even this is a stretch) that being said; there would be zero ability to appeal a suicide pk; thats the end all be all. theres no regretting suicide irl, so second thoughts are your own oopsie ultimately not having it isn't missing anything, but if you ask me there should be an opportunity for more dead bodies around the city that aren't just automatically homicide victims

So recidivism, or re offending, has a penalty enumerated in the Penal code that it adds onto the max sentence per offense an additional 50% of the max. For example, 5-4F Felony Resist (the most commonly charged felony) has a max sentence of 10 years. So say for example Joe Schmo has 3 priors for that exact offense. That would add on: 3 offenses * 10 years * 0.5 recidivism multiplier equaling an additional 15 years to the max 10 years on the offense for a total of 25 years. It's always worked that way. But the new jailor doesn't account for it. I would imagine it wouldn't be impossible to include a recidivism option to input years without need for staff intervention. Just a thought to tweak the jailor to match the Penal code.

I think the flag option would be the best. People say stupid shit over rumour all the time because they think it's completely anonymous like staff can't see who is posting them. For example, last night I muted two people for saying "Askull is a lispy retard". Using OOC terms IC in a small group of people is one thing, but retards will use rumour to type stupid OOC shit to get attention from the majority of the server. If we had flags, this wouldn't be such an issue.

I don't want to have to use languages to say OOC shit privately near people. My character is not saying or thinking those things. I propose implementing an Out of Character Whisper so we can exchange sensitive information/reminders OOCly to people near us that others cannot overhear and abuse for metagame/abuse. Things like "pager"(Discord) invites are primarily what I'm thinking but there are other examples I can't drum up on the spot. Please consider, my friends. Thank you all for reading.

You need to have pager contacts, no? I am talking about conveying information to unknown people near me. Why are you being so obtuse about this?

Kind of shocked you're not for it. This frees up the text box for RP and minimizes the spam of OOC that caused the global OOC to be taken away. LOOC having a WOOC (I titled the post OOCW but WOOC makes more sense due to the formatting of LOOC) means that much OOC banter/chat is tucked away on top of protecting certain OOC information you don't want shared with everyone around you. Maybe I don't want the guy in the next room to know that I'm leaving for work but I do want the guy next to me to. I know "Pager" is a big element and tie-in to the City but I figured encouraging people to stay locked-in and not constantly DM people on Discord to convey messages out of character.

Clearly, we have a fundamental disagreement with what should and shouldn't be openly shared in the middle of Roleplay. The entire point of this suggestion is so that we are not publicly sharing Pager information. The person's personal Discord is obviously included with that. Especially since text goes through walls/floors.

How exactly am I supposed to DM somebody that I don't know, on the fly, to convey something that's OOC (such as a DIscord invite)? Or explain that "Pager" means "Discord" without others seeing or having it clog up the text that has people RPing? Am I seriously crazy here or are you just doing the famous snarky gaslight and overlooking something you're not taking into consideration? Genuinely asking.

Slightly +1 on the idea of having flags that can be removed - but then again if they are gonna be removed from someone wouldn't that warrant them being muted and/or banned for it? I guess this can be an alternative punishment, particularly during war time, it will be quite handy to have.

Would be nice to be able to sell them, especially with how expensive they get the more you buy. Have it be similiar to selling cars, where you get 50% of the stash value back.
