You should attempt to reconnect immediately and if possible message the person/admin you were in the situation with and inform them you will be returning within the allotted 10 minutes. When can I leave/switch char during an arrest? If you sign a plea deal, once you are sentenced via the NPC and are serving your sentence you may disconnect or switch chars. If you are contesting the charges the police will organize with you and your lawyer to move you into the penitentiary faction and get your information to add you to a judge ticket to schedule a court date. Once you have given your info and are moved into the penitently faction you may switch character / disconnect. You may need to ask the cops / admins to untie you so you can switch characters. To break into a locked locker you must call an admin to assist you with the roleplay. The following criteria must be met. The faction that owns the building you are in / the lockers you are trying to open must be online and active (at least 5 players on). You must then perform the /me and utilize /roll in order to beat the admin TWICE. If you fail one of the two rolls you fail to open the locker. Repeat this for every locker you encounter. Just because you are multiple people in a group attempting to raid these lockers does not mean you get multiple attempts. Anyway to break out of handcuffs? To break out of handcuffs another person will have to use a lockpick item on you. I was killed unfairly, can I get compensation? Compensation is only required when the items you lost is due to a server crash/bug. In situations where you are RDM'ed or some other voiding circumstance occurs you are not entitled to compensation, having the item equipped is an inherent risk. That being said it is possible for the staff member handling your ticket to issue you compensation if they feel it, so being respectful goes a long way. How do I change my name/nickname? To change your nickname simply make a ticket with staff @ and ask them to change your nickname. No, jumping off tall buildings is not a PK, UNLESS you requested one or you did it to escape an RP situation and died. How can I hear audio when tabbed out? Go to your audio settings and uncheck the box that says to silence the audio. Under 'English' Can I be a high ranking criminal and cop? You may not hold a significant criminal rank and government rank at once, High command for a criminal faction may not be high command in government. How do I check my total playtime? Type !time in-game. Why is my playtime resetting? If your play time resets every time you disconnect it is because you have a special character in your steam name. Change your steam name to remove the special characters / symbols and your playtime will save. I can't find the server? How can I favourite the server? Garry's mod sometimes messes up the category listing in the regular multiplayer menu. We recommend you use the legacy browser and favourite the server by IP address. Step 1: Under the multiplayer menu open the 'Legacy Browser' and go to the 'Favorites' tab. Step 2: Once you have selected the 'Favourites' Tab at the top click on 'Add a server' at the bottom right. Step 3: Paste the server IP 45.62.160.54:27015 into the field and hit 'Add this address to favourites'. Step 4: The server will now appear under your favorites in the legacy browser. When the server is full you can select 'Auto-retry' to queue for the next open player slot.

What is the Pager system? The pager system or simply 'pager' is an in server messaging function, that allows you to send in character messages to other players. The system functions similar to emails allowing you to send, receive, store and delete messages as you please, as well as having a contacts list you can manage. The Pager is unique to each of your characters and you can link it to your Discord Account to receive notifications whenever you get a message. How to Access your Pager You can access the system via your inventory on the right side! Connecting to Discord In order to receive message notifications on discord go to the Pager options. From there you can left-click to copy the code it provides. Then head over to our discord ( discord.gg/diverge ) and message the code to the Diverge Bot. Diverge#4768 Once connected you will begin receiving notifications! Adding and Saving Contacts In order to add and save contacts go to the 'Contacts' button on the Pager. From here you can add, edit and delete your contacts. The little minus button next to the contact is 'delete' and the pencil and paper is 'edit' To Add a new Contact click 'New Contact' Add whatever contact name you'd like and where it says Contact ID you must input their character ID. In order to get someone's character ID you can type /copyid while looking at them or have them type /myid and give you the number they receive. Sending and Receiving messages You will be able to view all your received messages the moment you open the pager as they will display in your INBOX. In order to send messages click the 'Send Message' button in the pager. In the subject line you write the title of the message and the body details the contents of the message. For the Recipient line you can either select a pre-existing contact or simply enter the character ID of the intended recipient. You may also send the same message to multiple recipients at once, simply separate the character ID's with a comma in the recipient line. EX: 5, 16, 7845, 11146 Once completed hit 'Send' Managing messages When you receive a message it will appear in your inbox, you can simply click it to view it. You can flip through your 3 tabs to view inbox, sent and trash. Inside the message you can copy the contents of it to paste elsewhere, you can trash it or reply to the sender, which automatically fills out all the recipient information and reads as re: subject line. You can also view all messages you have sent in the Sent box. You can view your sent messages by clicking the subject line as well and use the follow up button to send another message to the same person. You can also remove messages from your inbox by sending them to the trash, where they will remain until you either restore them to the inbox or delete the permanently (PERMA DELETED messages CANNOT be recovered)

Being arrested In playing on the server, you will inevitably run into Law Enforcement Officers. If you commit a crime, you may also be arrested by them. Although maliciously motivated arrests happen, they violate server rules unless approved by the server administration - if you believe an instance of corruption is going on, you are encouraged to fight it through the legal system. You have a number of avenues available, such as civil lawsuits, pretrial motions, and internal affairs complaints. It is recommended that you hire a Bar-certified attorney to guide you through this process. They are familiar with the legal system and have likely encountered situations similar to yours. In the event that you are arrested, you will either be sent through the court system or offered a plea bargain. This means that the police will offer downgraded charges, or will drop some charges, in exchange for your guilty plea. Unlike the real world, the police can sentence you themselves for crimes you have pled guilty (or no contest) to. In most cases, it is recommended you do this - especially if it’s not a felony. Trials can be long and costly, and plea bargains offer a quicker, cheaper resolution. Should you believe coercion or corruption was involved, you should contact an attorney. Should you go through the court system, a criminal complaint will be drafted. This is how the State/District Attorney's Office (prosecutors) and Police initiate a case. This complaint will hold a list of charges and allegations accompanying them. Following the submission of this complaint to the courts, you will be scheduled for an arraignment. In this hearing, you will be read your charges, probable cause will be determined for them, bail will be set, and you will be told your rights. As provisioned by the constitutions of the United States and New York, as well as various statutes passed on both servers, you are entitled to due process and all the rights that ensue. You will be informed of them during the first appearance or directly afterwards, and judges will provide explanations of the court process. [font=Arial]After the conclusion of the arraignment, a date for trial will be set. Before this date, pretrial proceedings are conducted over the discord for the relevant court system; this allows an easy record of what happens and allows a supervised environment for discovery (the exchange of evidence for both parties) to occur. Civil Lawsuits If you believe a civil wrong was committed against you, you have the ability to file a civil complaint with the courts. This is a document which includes a number of details about the events that transpired, as well as a ‘prayer for relief’ - what you believe you are owed. As the creation of a complaint can be complicated, it is, once again, recommended that you hire a Bar-certified attorney. The police will frequently request the presence of attorneys for defendants that do not possess them, and you will have no shortage of work. You could also go the public route, and ask to become a public defender or assistant state attorney. Obviously, in these jobs, you will be issued a public salary and not a per-case fee. You will also be forbidden from private practice as long as you are employed by the state. Naturally, there will be things you don’t know. There are, however, many public resources you can look at to advance your knowledge. Both court systems have published handbooks, procedural rules, and links to real world resources that come up in trials on the server. As America is an English Common Law system, case law reigns supreme; simple google searches will often yield countless cases related to any one issue. The court system works largely off templates written by the members of the respective court; in these templates, substantial guidance is given on what to write, how to phrase things, etc. And, to reiterate, further guidance can be requested from the court. We understand that it is a GMod server, and will give advice accordingly. Additionally, you can take influence from real world court documents that you find online. If you believe there was a serious mishap in trial, there are two major paths you can take. You could attempt to get a new trial with a post-trial motion, or you could appeal the case. Guidance is available on doing this, and templates are available. Bank Accounts This will be a comprehensive guide on how bank accounts work. Account Creation Automated Teller Machines are placed throughout the map for quick, easy and public access to an individual's bank accounts. If you have no bank accounts you'll be greeted by an empty grid. To obtain new accounts go to the Banker at City Hall. First Account - $1,000 Second Account - $50,000 Third Account - $100,000 The Accounts will then appear once purchased. Bank Account Use Simply click onto the Account you wish to open You'll then be greeted with several options Deposit - Put Money into the Account Withdraw - Take Money out of the Account Transfer - Transfer Money from one account to another Item Bank - Open the account's Item Storage Manage Users - Add/remove people to their account and edit their permissions. View Logs - View the account logs of money and items entering and leaving the account. Rename Account - Sets the account's name. Enter a value to take out or put in money. (You must have the available amount in the account / on your person for it to function) The account number is the ID To transfer money to another bank account you need to acquire the bank ID and then enter the amount. Do not confuse these two fields. You can store any item in your bank account, simply click and drag it from your inventory. Donators get the larger bank accounts. Managing Accounts As an Account Owner you can add people to your account and grant them permissions to interact with it. You can allow or deny them to withdraw, deposit, transfer, use the item bank, manage the account or view logs Click the left column. Add them via Character ID To obtain a character ID simply type /copyid while looking at someone or have them type /myid And enter it You can then add or remove permissions once the user is added.
