Rough Idea: Have rarely seen this feature used, but maybe increasing the availability of bail and revamping the bail system could help counter frustrations of people sitting in jail, waiting weeks for a trial. Allow them to be released while waiting for their trial with limitations such as a semi-permanent attachment to their character like an ankle monitor set by staff until the trial date or a different coloured name above their head to help police monitor people on bail. An idea to make bail more readily available could include the process being entirely done through discord and google docs/forms without either party having to be in the city, using a format similar to the name changes (Name, Proof of payment...). Once the courts receive the funds they will add a note to a channel similar to the #name-changes, showing that the person has paid and are allowed to be released on bail so staff can remove them from the state pen faction and return them to the one they were in prior. The bail could be paid by a third party (typically the faction they're apart of), and the bail will be refunded back to the account which paid them when the person attends the trial, if the person doesn't show up to court, the party that paid bail will not receive a refund and will be entitled to PK the person on bail. This could open the door for new bail bond companies that can profit of this system, along with making the court process (trials) more enjoyable, without having to spend weeks locked up in a cell.

Bring back cops can prosecute and the issue is then fixed! Court cases used to be done within a day or two cuz of this. Once they removed DA elections it meant that there was competent DA’s in power they then removed the whole PD Can prosecute using Callum Hazard, Chu Ming and Charlie fray as the cover poster for it. easiest way to fix the issue is have competent PD members that are bar certified be allows to go to court and prosecute. The only issue is they lose out on one persons potential affidavit. That’s about it. now of course have the DAs office as the main guys but for smaller cases it take so much less time since you don’t need as many people. (Also stops biasedness)

Hey district attorney here! IC time for sentences is like this so people arent in jail for hours! Now for court trials! We have no control over how long it takes considering we are all volunteering and at times its difficult to schedule times! If you don't like it, don't go to court! Plea out! Thanks bud!

but then you have the thing of people are busy, located within different time zones and might also have last minute plans irl that they should be/are prioritising over gmod, it's a lot harder than you think to be able to set up dates and times with people across multiple time zones, one court case could have people participating from america, uk, and australia, a difference in time from uk to america EST/CST/PST is already +5hrs/+6hrs/+8hrs (ie 5PM EST = 10PM in the uk), the time difference alongside, school/jobs/literally anything you do irl makes it difficult to plan almost anything and makes it even more difficult the more parties are involved, giving people a time limit on top of the fact people are just living lives would cause people needing to be subbed out, possibility of court times being elongated due to people new to the case needing to be filled in on new information, mistrials due to miscommunication and probably at worse the case being dropped entirely (on the prosecution side), so as simple as the solution sounds, it's not as easy to execute when you look at all the variables
