Dr. Hax
I see that most people have around 100-200 ping. Where is the server located exactly and why is average ping so high? Link to comment
anzati1
its not always about server location, it could also be server performance. for example if theres a lot of cars out, it'll cause more ping lag naturally, because cars are heavy to run on a server. Link to comment
Canadian-bacon
Chicago; Latency. It doesn't really mean much compared to other video games. Ping (location) isn't a factor that affects performance generally. ^ what anzati said Link to comment

(from a developer) yes code can be GOOD, but remotely having a server that's interesting needs to take a performance hit once in a while. or you can have zero features with zero lag.... (also im pretty sure diverge runs one of the best possible purchasable VPS machines lol) garrysmod servers are also limited to a certain amount of CPU Cores, once again, its an old game. at most servers can be hyper threaded if i remember but at that point its time to look at the server code and not the hardware Link to comment

Hopefully it will be ported to S&box (Source 2) whenever that's out. Edited Thursday at 05:19 AM by Dr. Hax Link to comment
