Cops PK active during raid (PLS READ BEFORE DECLINING)

Recommended Posts

I am aware the last post about this topic was turned down, but I feel it didn't elaborate enough on how much potential it really has for both parties involved, ESPECIALLY for NYPD.

Firstly, it gives fairplay for both the targeted faction and the NYPD as the criminals aren't the only ones who risk losing their chars during this event. Police already benefit from body armor and PK immunity in other circumstances, however this situation could create a much more intense situation with great roleplay and pvp potential. The criminal faction would have to tighten security and improve weaponry, whereas police would have to plan an elaborate insertion. A situation where police risk their lives during a raid incentivizes a slower, well thought-out breach with, for example, multiple entry points, sniper teams, sentries to watch the entry team’s back and so on.

On another note, this concept could also push the idea of the creation of specialized police forces as would be SWAT, FBI, DEA and so on which is more than possible considering NYPD is technically the largest faction in the server. This could encourage rigorous trainings, selective recruitment (good pvpers and strategists), etc.

I feel if we look at it from this POV, this whole event could be turned into an intense, thrilling, action packed experience with high stakes and high potential for developing certain sub-communities and whatnot.

Also canadian bacon the argument of a guy wiping out the task force from behind doesnt quite work if there are sentries deployed. And the NYPD is impossible to wipe out through PKs. There will always be new candidates and cadets.

NYPD enthusiasts and UA pls read this with an open mind

The observations you make do not reflect reality, there is a limited pool of people joining the police force, the people that do are often not serious/quality, nor is the NYPD the largest faction in the server. There are countless times (especially during conflicts) where the server is 128/128 players online and only 2 police officers are on (Who are then meant to represent a vast police force.)

The nature of roleplaying as a police officer is met with total opposition by any non police role-player because this is a Mafia RP server and the other people are criminals, not law abiding citizens. Even a simple traffic stop turns into an ordeal because 10+ uninvolved persons want to surround the stop to scream and yell and argue.

The FBI/DEA have existed as factions before and do not work. The 'SWAT" equivalent is the ESU Squad who are called up to serve warrants.

and yes, if they were vulnerable for simply playing the game and doing their job.

1. No one would be able to do anything as a cop
2. No one would then want to BE a cop
3. Yes, people would unfairly target them to PK them.

It doesn't work. This is the intended game function.

Think objectively for a second and not what selfishly benefits your roleplay as a criminal, you'll immediately realise why things are structured the way they are.

If cops were subject to the same consequences for dying in certain situations; the server would immediately become stale because criminals have no risk and would be able to wipe the floor. No.

I don't agree cops should be PK active during raids - at all. That would be dumb. It not only would negatively affect the balance of the server, but do you want to have the heat of multiple cops being killed by your faction?

(FBI, DEA and that stuff could be cool to bring back though if there was a good way to do it.)

didnt read, but personally i just kill em anyways, kinda like giving crack to a monkey adrenaline, high risk no reward

theres a reason why its so difficult to pk pd. criminals are supposed to be scared of pd and killing/pking one should be a huge deal

-1 As a member of the tactical branch (The people who do the raids) if this is implemented we would be pked for doing our job correctly and pked because a dumbass in your faction got the room raided or seized. It would also prob kill half of the Branch retarded suggestion

if you guys fuck up why should we be killed for it?

Criminals aren't at risk of losing their chars if they just don't open fire on cops during a raid.

yea but if the raid is happening during a crewdeal with hundreds of bricks of drugs every criminal is at risk!

maybe then under specific kinds of raids should police be pk active i.e. tip from an informant/undercover agent

Realistically cops are always at least two steps ahead with everyhing no fairplay needed. Thats the risk you take as a criminalimage.thumb.png.f312fcd4ad3e85a94aad1e8752142e83.png

(shit should stay as is like canadian said would ruin the cop faction)
