Reason for PK: life long sentence

Why should you be unPK'd? forced to sign plea deal under duress, wasnt properly informed of my options or potential fixes.

What server rule or PK rule was violated?: signature for plea under duress. a lawyer came in and dropped me, i asked what i could do officer thatcher just told me to sign the plea and that court wouldnt help me. Finch even said he could save me, but he spitefully refused. i know ignorance isnt an excuse for breaking rules, but if you enforce that on me, it should be enforced on thatcher too, i wasnt given the fair chance that i was entitled to under your rules.

If possible please provide video evidence or photo evidence if PK does not follow the guidelines:

i wish i had a clip, but naturally i got an error the one time that i desperately needed a clip/

Hi, PKing administrator here. It was my understanding that you had understood by signing the plea deal, you would be sentenced to life imprisonment, I recall the arresting officer state that this would be a life sentence. Nonetheless, you still signed a life sentence for your character.

After you signed the plea deal, your friend went up to me in the PD and claimed I could have dropped a charge in order to save you. I very highly doubt that this wasn't metagame because he wasn't in the cell room at all with us and the only he could have been informed was through DMs.

I don’t know what metagaming is.

I understand, however I wasn’t aware of all my options at the time I was in the cell, the officer told me I was cooked no matter what. And a detective even gave him permission to let me off with just under a life sentence. But this dude had his mind made up alrwady, almost seems like someone may not have liked me and wanted me to be gone or something. I told him how new I was too, and a lawyer walked in and walked out on me. I was nothing but cordial through the whole encounter.

In fact, I heated thatcher talking about the money he was going to make with the arrest as he was leaving the cell with an operative.

I’m willing to take the L,  it’s just a lottttttt of people including a couple admins said that I had a decent case of getting an appeal. If you reject it I won’t cry about it.

Uhhh yeah? The NYPD can turn in illegal narcotics/illegal firearms/contaband to the Quartermaster NPC in the evidence department for a bit of money, or put it in a evidence locker if a suspect wants to go to trial. This has nothing to do with a PK at all.

gotcha, like i said im brand new to this, i absolutely whole heartedly love it, and at the end of the day it really came down to me not being explained all of my options very well. and being that this was a PK i feel like it would have been appropriate to be given some form of counsel.

and of course you could have dropped a charge, from what i hear that sort of thing happens all the time. i was speaking with that gentleman right before my rights were violated up and down central st, and then railroaded right into death because i didnt know better.

Just because I can drop a charge, even though you clearly did it, doesn't mean I have to.

Yeah I’m aware, I just thought you’d show a guy that’s new to the server and a brand new donator a little humanity and understanding. I explained that I wasn’t aware of all my potential options. And I was essentially forced to just sign the plea deal. Was told I would be fucked in court regardless. <— all info given to me by officers) but then when I got PKEd and created a new character, every single person I talked to said I could have been alright. Again, I really wish I knew that I could have had as much time as I needed in the cell to make a decision instead of having a plea shoved down my throat.

You were not forced at all to sign the plea deal. You had the option to do that, or go to court, or even become an informant for the detectives (was turned down though since they said you wouldn't be able to provide much).

For me to force you do to that would be something like "If you don't sign this, I'm gonna kill you/add more charges" or prolly a "/me puts a pen in the suspect's hand and forces him to sign the plea deal given to him" (This would be powergame)
