    Missions?

Missions A set of civilian and criminal missions that (Separate NPCs): Civilian Missions: Designed for new players, these missions introduce key locations (Clothing Store, Hardware Store, Oil NPC, Ghetto, ect.) with low-stake tasks that help with map navigation and basic mechanics and minimal rewards. Criminal Missions: High Risk, repeatable missions with cooldowns that are locked to members in criminal factions, offering cash, clothing items, or cheap weapons. These can be an alternative source for making money instead of drug production, but earn less money. Cooldowns: All missions could have a 24 hour cooldown, or longer depending on the mission type and rewards. These missions can take inspiration from early 2000s games such as GTA: Vice City and Simpsons: Hit n Run - simple missions that can increase immersion and give players new experiences within the server and give more methods of making money outside of drug production and selling (just not as much), along with being able to obtain cheap weapons. Some Basic Civilian Mission Ideas (Mission NPC located at City Hall): 1. Introduction Part 1 Talking to the NPC will direct plays to key locations around the map, for example: Checkpoint 1: Visit the Clothing Store Checkpoint 2: Visit the Electronics Store Checkpoint 3: Visit the Hardware Store Checkpoint 4: Visit Town Hall Checkpoint 5: Visit the Expensive Clothing Store Checkpoint 6: Visit the Police Department Completing this mission will reward players with $1500 cash (which they can use towards the next mission). 2. Introduction Part 2 Talking to the NPC will direct plays to City Hall to purchase an ATM with a checkpoint at the reception desk and then after purchasing an ATM account using the rewards from the last mission, it will put a checkpoint to the ATM in townhall for new players to get familiar with. Completing this mission will reward players with $500 cash (leaving them with $1000 for clothes / food). After these 2 missions, new players should be more familiar with the key locations around the map, and will have an ATM account along with $1,000 in cash before they start their criminal life. This can be helpful for factions hiring, as they can have white shirts complete these tasks instead of repeatedly showing new players themself. Some Basic Criminal Mission Ideas (Mission NPC located at they alley in Chinatown or behind apartments next to Nightclub): 1. Car Heist Talking to the NPC will direct you to a specific location on the map where a sports car has spawned (randomised between multiple set locations), once you get into the car you will have to drive it to a checkpoint before a timer ends, with the checkpoint being indicated as a "chop shop". Failing the mission (not delivering it to the checkpoint in time) will enable the cooldown on the mission and no rewards will be received. Completing the mission will reward players with $5000 cash. 2. Gun Run Talking to an NPC will direct you to a delivery van (a truckload of illegal firearms that need to be delivered to several locations). The cops get wind of the shipment, triggering a chase. The police will receive a notification matching the vans description and will be advised to chase and ram the vehicle. If the van makes it to all the locations/checkpoints before the timer runs out the person will be rewarded with $1,000 + a pistol with a removed serial number (weapon that fell out of the crate during the pursuit) and a cooldown on the mission will be added. If the van does not make it to all locations/checkpoints before the timer runs out the person will receive no reward and a cooldown on the mission will be added. 3. Steal the Package Talking to an NPC will direct you to the parking lot in tunnels, a handful of armed NPCs will spawn and you will be directed to kill the NPCs and take the package they're protecting and deliver it to another location. Dying to the NPCs will trigger a cooldown on the mission and you will receive no rewards. Killing the NPCs and successfully delivering the package to the location will reward the players with $2,500. 2. Note: It has already has been stated that an off duty function is added to the to do list, just wanted to add my two cents on a way to implement it that could be nice (might already be what was in mind). I really like the updates that have been done with the Police Computer and would like to have more options to remove some of the need of Discord, specifically with removing/replacing #clock-in-out. In the concepts attached, I have included: 1. An option to clock in and clock out from the police computer. 2. An option to display the recent history of clock in and clock outs (Date and time of each clock in and clock out, similar to the ATMs). The history tab can serve a purpose in proving activity to the Bureau of Internal Affairs if they suspect activity related infractions. In addition to "Clock Out" disabling the pay for officers, there could be another feature implemented that removes the "Cop Badge" as a wearable item from the Evidence NPC and instead when someone in PD clocks in through the computer, the Cop Badge will automatically be attached to their character - This way if someone has clocked in and is wearing plain clothes, it will be easier for staff to be made aware of people abusing the pay system, and for officers that want to spend time off duty there won't be any suspicion of them attempting to farm pay. Another benefit to this change with the Cop Badge would be the removal of needing "Off Duty" or "On Duty" in the description of officers, as the badge will indicate that instead. Edit: In regards to Supervisors and IA - There could also be an additional tab created for them to be able to check the clock in and clock out history of other officers in some sort of 'Employee Search'. Or alternatively, a new tab that is created that automatically displays all officers and how many days they haven't been clocked in for - with the least active people being at the top of the list, making it easier for Supervisors and IA to spot B-4 and A-2 Infractions.
  3. Rough Idea: Have rarely seen this feature used, but maybe increasing the availability of bail and revamping the bail system could help counter frustrations of people sitting in jail, waiting weeks for a trial. Allow them to be released while waiting for their trial with limitations such as a semi-permanent attachment to their character like an ankle monitor set by staff until the trial date or a different coloured name above their head to help police monitor people on bail. An idea to make bail more readily available could include the process being entirely done through discord and google docs/forms without either party having to be in the city, using a format similar to the name changes (Name, Proof of payment...). Once the courts receive the funds they will add a note to a channel similar to the #name-changes, showing that the person has paid and are allowed to be released on bail so staff can remove them from the state pen faction and return them to the one they were in prior. The bail could be paid by a third party (typically the faction they're apart of), and the bail will be refunded back to the account which paid them when the person attends the trial, if the person doesn't show up to court, the party that paid bail will not receive a refund and will be entitled to PK the person on bail. This could open the door for new bail bond companies that can profit of this system, along with making the court process (trials) more enjoyable, without having to spend weeks locked up in a cell.
