but then you have the thing of people are busy, located within different time zones and might also have last minute plans irl that they should be/are prioritising over gmod, it's a lot harder than you think to be able to set up dates and times with people across multiple time zones, one court case could have people participating from america, uk, and australia, a difference in time from uk to america EST/CST/PST is already +5hrs/+6hrs/+8hrs (ie 5PM EST = 10PM in the uk), the time difference alongside, school/jobs/literally anything you do irl makes it difficult to plan almost anything and makes it even more difficult the more parties are involved, giving people a time limit on top of the fact people are just living lives would cause people needing to be subbed out, possibility of court times being elongated due to people new to the case needing to be filled in on new information, mistrials due to miscommunication and probably at worse the case being dropped entirely (on the prosecution side), so as simple as the solution sounds, it's not as easy to execute when you look at all the variables

I’m not sure exactly what kind of routines/tools are in place for DA with court cases but could it be helpful if there was a file case button for LEOs to add charges, evidence (like a criminal complaint doc but filing it themselves like a plea), affidavits etc and hit submit. > Gets submitted to DA for review. If less than X years of sentence and ”minor” case in the file auto-open a 24hour plea window to preserve time. > If over X years and ’serious’ open a ticket/group with judges/DA/defendant/LEO for review and court planning. Command /requestcourt can be initiated by X with date/time and judge/DA can lock in the trial. > Everyone involved is automatically pinged for a court date when Judge and/or DA checkmarks the requested court date. Failure to show penalizes either defense or prosecution depending on whom. Not sure if this is already in place somehow cause it might be tbh but just thinking out loud of scripts in Discord and getting LEO/players involved to save time.

No i don't expect it to be done in a day, Let me explain the suggestion maybe a tiny bit better. I think it would be useful and a time saver to make it a 24 hour timer per side in a court case. So Every time a motion is submitted or discovery is submitted its the next sides "turn" sort of. It might end up with default judgments, but at least the court didn't take a month. Shit you could adjust that time per side at 48 hours. This is a forum i just want there to be a realization that there is an issue, and there is an open floor for better suggestions then maybe mine. I am not trying to shit on people for volunteering their time to do these courts and create a great RP scenario. I just believe respect for time should be brought into consideration more then it is right now.

The first part of my post is not a suggestion, its the complaint. The second part is the suggestion in order to improve quality of life for the average citizen. Unfortunately their will always be complaints about a process one way or another. My point in the suggestion is to put some consequence on all parties to get the court process done. My case hasn't even had a court date set and its been a week IRL. Its extremely frustrating to see because IMO im not guilty and just want to play the game. Instead of playing i sit and wait on my weekend for someone eventually to respond. Im not the only one who has complained about this issue and the courts have become quite clogged.

I understand the sentiment but this suggestion doesn't really do much. You're saying 'make this better' but then you don't suggest an alternative or identify slowdowns. Certain aspects of the court system can maybe be integrated. automated or optimized on a script side, which is planned to-do, but what are the actual slowdowns outside of 'the people that volunteer their time to do the courts took long because they are juggling 20 other cases and their real life' A time limit is ultimately the other real suggestion but that will just force default judgments and people dont like that / always complain when that happens.

if jailtime goes by years to minutes, then wtf is the actual server progression? because if i remember right, every year is a new year.... Last year it was 1988, now its 1989, so what does that mean we actually passed a thousand years? ...... There's time limits in every court case, but its very hard to coordinate as a judge to have two parties, and most of the time 4-5+ people per trial all get on at the same time. Good Afternoon! I may seem biased in this conversation but, i really believe at this point that the court system, the prosecution defense the judges and everything else needs to be revised. I will give you a perfect example. I was arrested over a week ago, They submitted the court case within the 24 hour period. Since then an ENTIRE WEEK has passed which ic? Is 10000 YEARS!!!! I am not the only one that feels this way. I believe at this point there needs to be a chess timer for like the defense prosecutor and judge. Every time something is submitted a timer that requires people to act. If they do not act within the allotted time the, party at fault is given the penalty of either case dropped or prosecution wins. As of right now most people wont take their case to court. IMO the courts are biased in favor of the government only bc of time.
